  1. Doctor prescribed me Cifloxin for food poisoning, but when I got home I noticed I only have 6 pills to be taken twice daily. Is such a short time normal for this antibiotic?

Is this the same stuff as Cipro? I was given that years ago in the US before my first trip to Thailand, but I never took it as the doctor said it had rather strong side effects. Can't remember what I was carrying it around for... in case of food poisoning perhaps?

It says to take it with meals, but I have NO appetite at all. Can I just take it with a glass of OJ or water, or should I really try to eat something?

  2. You are sure asking a lot. Please refer to the wikipedia links and if you have specific questions please feel free to ask, but it's unreasonable to expect anyone to rewrite general information that is available all over the internet.

    1. any possible way of getting faster reliable updates for windows or mac, possibly a closer server location without having to drive someone for high speed access??

Some ISP's have good international bandwidth, such as CAT Maxnet service (from what I've heard). True and TOT are spotty at best.

    2. Would really like understanding of internet cables, I understand that most universities have direct access to a 10Gbps Internet Cable and that most unground / underwater cables are also 10Gbps cables, am aware that network solutions in the U.S. what developing a device that would allow 10 (10Gbps) in a box. allowing better free up on internet use.

Well, the Asia-America Gateway should have a capacity between 1.28 - 2 terabits per second. Submarine cables contain many fiber strands.

    3. Don't know if this exists or not but has anyone built a 1 tyrabyte per second cable.

The above is a terabit capacity cable. I don't know of any individual cables that have terabyte/sec capacity but they may well exist.

    4. More simple way of explaining the Border Gateway Protocol

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BGP

Again, a more specific question about something you don't understand would help us to help you.

  3. How big is your hard drive? How much free space do you have?

If you do not have much free space your system is likely a lot slower than it should be as your paging file is probably heavily fragmented. Depending on how large your drive is, it might be worth it to purchase a larger drive, which will also be faster. You can purchase a new 320GB hard drive for ~1,600 baht.

  4. The main difference between primary partitions and extended partitions with logical drives is that you can't boot an OS from an extended partition.

Since you can only have 3 primary partitions per disk, you will need an extended in there. It doesn't matter how you set it up, it's all the same.

  5. Use Peer Guardian 2 to protect your IP from nosey governments and anti-P2P types when using P2P networks and force encryption from any BitTorrent client. Disclaimer: of course I fully realise you're only using P2P networks to share files that aren't subject to copyright laws, this is just to protect your privacy...

Please note that such hiding techniques are NOT legal in Thailand

and therefore should NOT be discussed in this forum

Having said that the whole area of solicitor's letter's is very worrying in this member's opinion.

Are you sure about that? Peer Guardian simply denies connections to/from a list of IP addresses. I find it VERY hard to believe that this can be illegal. If that were the case, a lot of software that blocks malware, malicious web sites, ads, etc., would all be illegal. Heck, even creating bogus entry in my hosts file would be illegal!

  6. 3309.57 Kbps = 3.3Mb/s

    3466 kb/s = 3.4Mb/s

It appears you have a 4Mb ADSL line from True.

The first thing you see @ 24Mbps is the speed (quality) of the connection between your computer and your Linksys wireless router.

My best guess is that result 1 is in Megabaud per second, results 2 and 3 in kilobit per second.

Figure 1 is in Megabits, you are correct about figures 2 and 3.
