1. I see many who will knock the Thai ladies, generally saying they are only after a Farang's money, but I would like to paint another side to that picture.

For 3 weeks while I have been back in the UK sorting out legalities, my Thai g/f mother has been in hospital - and was before I came away - yet she has never asked me for a single Baht.

She has had extra expenses along with the rest of the family in paying for medicines and the cost of the clinic to add to the extra gas she has needed to drive the family back and forth to the clinic. She has paid UBC - with the money I left for that purpose s it is me who wanted UBC. She has also gone out and done extra work to help pay the bills.

Added to that she has also found a new hair/nail salon to run. I paid for the equipment for the first salon she got and helped with the first months rent while she got settled in to the business. Now, off her on bat she has found new premises at half the rental price, half the electricity and water costs too. Also this new salon has a kitchen, toilet, front room and a bedroom instead of the single salon room.

As she says, when I get back to LOS in a couple of weeks, I can sleep in the bedroom when I have been to the pub - saves driving back home. I can have Internet there too - a lot cheaper than out in the countryside. And as she has more than just the salon room I can spend more time with her.

She has paid the rent, electric and water bills herself too and from a business that is only just up and running

So it seems to me that not all the Thai girls are as bad as they are sometimes painted here in the forum. Depends where you find your girl, I suppose.

Any of you guys have positive things to say about your Thai g/f b/f wife / husband that will set back those who dearly love to knock these Thais?

Lol, youv'e picked a great one here! :o

  2. Nice one qwertz. I think that I read before that you're from Germany. If that's that case that's an especially good pun.

Brit expat, BK, I called it Fornication Street way back when. Used to think it was crap until I saw the German soaps. Is it still running?

Hi i've read some of your post's and can see that you now your stuff!!! but please this is no soap! If your post about your German girlfreind was a joke then ok best you start writing for television drama! maybe you have found a new tallent that you never knew you had!

    No disrespect, Chris. :o

  3. Hi,

i've already put a post on here but now i'm well pis$ off as two more freinds have just come BKK and been charged 700 baht from the new airport to Sukumvit 97, i told my mate what to say but he said after being on his long flight he could not be bothered to argue which i totally understand, to answer the topic title this gives them a very BAD name. The going rate is 50 baht airport charge then around 300 to sukumvit taking bangna road, thus making it 350 baht!!! Why do they rip of jet lagged farang??? :o

    Chris.

Maybe because, as you state yourself, they know that some passengers couldn't be bothered after a long flight. If your friends had followed your advice you would have nothing to complain about.

So who is at fault here?

In any tourist country visitors WILL get ripped of. In my home country I can by a postcard of our cathedral at Euro 0,25 at any supermarket and the tourist pay 4 to 5 times more at the souvenir shop next to the cathedral. The locals just don't buy there and shrug their shoulders. It's common practice.

Same here in Thailand, I don't buy sunglasses from hawkers on the beach but from Luk Dod where the

    hawkers buy them also.

And let's not forget that a lot of farangs hanging around here, do rip of other farangs also, and then not for a couple of hundred bahts, but thousands.

And thank god the airport tax is now included in the price of a ticket. How many of you have been approched by farangs that didn't know they had to pay the 500 baht and didn't have them and dear me they were going to loose their flight.

    Cheers

    Onzestan

    Hi,

I totally understand what you are saying but! why do they have taxi meter on top of there cars??? it dose seem a little unfair on people to get this reception after a 11 an a half hour flight.

My point is if it was your first time to LOS and you got this what would your first opinion be?

If someone can say this is fair then i asume your a taxi driver, just kidding lol. :D

    Chris.

  4. I am marrying a 28 y.o. TG from Issan in a couple of months. She speaks perfect English, has a university degree but comes from an Issan farming family. We have also applied for a fiancée visa and will have a small ceremony followed by a bigger reception in the United States. The traditional Thai wedding in Issan is for her family and friends, and will not be registered for months (so as not to screw up our visa application). Suffice it to say I am concerned that the cost of the two ceremonies and travel expenses are already going to be very expensive without the little extras I am told are required in a Thai traditional marriage. I am wondering if the costs that my fiancée proposes for the Thai wedding are reasonable. While my in-laws do not want a dowry (they are apparently happy that their daughter and I are in love), my fiancée indicates that a present from me to them s appropriate. She proposes that I give her parents a gift of 8-10 cows or buffalo for the farm (approximately B150k or US 4,500). Additionally she proposes that I give her 10 baht of gold (approximately B120K or US 3,400); pay for wedding outfits and photos (B50k or US 1500); and pay for the ceremony and reception at a hotel for 150 - 200 guests (approximately B75K or US 2,100). Grand total is approximately B495K or US 12,400 for the Thai wedding alone. Additionally, she wants me to put up B200K for show money which will be returned after the ceremony and reception.

I think that 2 to 4 Buffalos or cows are generous and reasonable, as is 3 to 6 baht of gold. I do not know whether the costs for the photos or ceremony are unreasonable although I suspect they are ok (although the photos and outfits are already a done deal since I already told her that it was ok). Overall, I think that what she proposes might be too much? Any thoughts, comments or advice would be appreciated.

BTW the US ceremony and reception will be approximately US 5,000 to 7, 000 (not including the travel expenses).

Please Don't do this!! Is this a joke?

Please don't think i'm having a go but it just sounds to me like a lot of money. If your rich and can afford it then what the hel!, but please be carfull.

If i'm wrong then i wish you all the luck in the world and a BIG congrat's. :o

  6. I think you are right Simbo. It is the same person. The girl in Kanchanaburi says the baby is due soon and has not heard from him since he returned to the UK. All I can say is get your arse back here, forget the women in the UK and do the right thing by the girl over here. By the way Your landlord is asking if you are still coming in April and needs you to send him a deposit for the room

I know the guy in question and you are a mile of the truth, but very 10 out of 10 for effort on your post.

Please no rude comments on my freind as he his a great guy!!!

Sorry changhighlily for any offence coz theres none intended.

    Chris. :o

  7. I have a solution for both you idiots: You call the husband in the UK and tell him what you have told us, then get your little married two timing b***h to back up your sad story.

She gets kicked out, you get burnt, and you can live happily ever after knowing that you TOTALLY DESTROYED ANOTHER MAN'S LIFE.

    You are one sick <deleted>.

You didn't get burnt by any chance?

  8. I've been to Pattaya once, about 6 years ago, went out of curiousity. Walked around for a while, and saw nothing but filthy beaches and sleazy looking beer bars. stayed for four hours and left. So what is the attraction?? Maybe it's me, or a case of "different folks have different strokes".

Did I go to the wrong area?,Or is ALL of the city the "wrong area". Any nice parts to go to?

I have to agree, pattaya beach is bad and you never see anyone swimming in the sea as its filthy but worst of all is the sleezey farang tourist going there for one reason only! now saying that i'm sure theres many lovely people there but around the bar scene your be lucky to find them. I went to Pattaya in january with two of my mates and we left after two nights we did plan on staying for two weeks. I couldn't wait to get back to BKK which most people think the same of, so it all comes down to what you said "different folks have different strokes".

You can always go to New Brighton or Blackpool :D:D Nignoy

The topic is about PATTAYA! :o

  9. Hi Loke, i'm sorry to say mate but i think youv'e missed the point, what a lot of people are saying is why dosn't he go to his embassy and then on to Holland were theres a system which will look after him. The reason the guys getting bad press is simple! the Thais in this country who are really poor don't have an option but this guy dose! :D

You Just confirmed what I've just said... You don't have a clue, if you think you know anything about this guy or about his options.

Don't talk to me about poor thais, as if you had some special knowledge about those... Your ignorance shown to this guy tells it all.

Poor ppl doesn't need your "simple bad press" just because there's ppl in existance that are more poor. This guy seems to me to be one who rather bend his pride than to steal, mug or bother anyone really - and he's on his knees begging from english-speaking thais/farrangs fortunate enough to ride the skytrain. BTW: Intoxicated or not - he might just be dozed by the heavy smog ;o)

    - Get real and mind you manners, mate!

You are IMHO talking out of your @rse. The days are over when you just went to the embassy or consulate and had a free trip home, dude. The begging guy doesn't seem to be too bright, thus almost demanding anyones pity. For one: he too think he could just go to the dutch embassy and get a free ride home - only if not that they then would find out, that he actually should have been in Holland the last whole year looking for work - and second: the poor guy sees no problem whatsoever in admitting it all ON TAPE ment for YouTube. With all those selfappointed police-informers, like in here, then he'll probably get in serious legal trouble upon his return to Holland. Justice served, I'm sure those prick$ would say.

Listen up and think for once; straight all right narrow-path following individuals DONT NEED ANY COMPASSION... It's the somewhat crooked guys who are in the gutter that does.

    //Loke

Your one whos hasn't a clue mate! and as for telling me i'm talking out my @rse and making reference's to other forum members as prik$ your the one who needs to mind his manners!! Try to understand a topic before putting a post on it, now please take a look through some of the other posts and you will see your sadly mistaken in all you wrote. :o

Hi loke my newbie freind, the guy were all talking about isnt you by any chance??? :o

  11. It makes me really sick to look at most of the intolerant uncompassionate posts here - especially the ones filing complaints.

Why don't you guys get a life instead of mocking someone who's litteraly in the gutter. Judging beggars are just so ###### easy - even though you don't have a clue on who, why and for what reason - not to speak of that you yourselves probably have what you need in your lifes.

I don't know about you guys, but I certainly wouldn't like to sit and beg a 7 hours day in the healthy Bangkok smog for merely 1000B... My guess is, that this is no farrangs choice if it weren't really necessary. In my opinion he earned the money.

But I guess that you yourselves are so utterly perfect human beings - who's always are and have been on the straight path, loving, caring, giving and so very compassionate. And as you are so admirable know-it-all individuals you think that you do have the God-given right to judge others in public, smear, filing complaints and raise hel_l around others that you in fact don't no anything about.

    <sigh>

  12. You know, seeing this video really bothers me.

I have lived and worked in Thailand for 10+ years. Thanks to some pretty good luck, a A LOT of hard work and following the rules, I have managed to stay here legally and have had a great and prosperous life.

Tourists like this are just plain wrong. This guy (and others like him) needs to go home. He can get on the dol in his own country if he needs money so badly.

I have filed a complaint at http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/ba...hp?page=comment about this, referencing this post.

I encourage all of you to also file a complaint; maybe the Immigration Bureau will take some action. People like this make all farangs in The Kingdom look bad.

    PLEASE ACT.

I've just done it as i totally agree with you 100% tweezer. THE MANS A DISGRACE, anyone in dought please watch the video very carfully and listen to the rumor's on this guy its gotten away this for far to long!

  13. The guy is full of <deleted>, just like you said in the video about the police deporting him and him just saying he pays them, if he wasn't living it up some where surley he would be begging outside a police station to they did deport him! ans as for his dress sence hes the cleanist looking beggar i've seen. THE MANS A DISGRACE!!! Good video and nice one on exposing him. :D

    ============================================================

First of all; I can see where a person can get down on his/her luck. However; to resort to begging-on-the-street, I find totally abhorent. I'm also a Dutchman and I am thoroughly ashamed of this guy's behaviour.

Surely he can call on his relatives/friends in Holland to get enough dosh together to return home !?! (and there, go straight back on the dole !)

Secondly; "chrisspursbkk1" you are sorely mistaken if you think that "getting arrested" by the Immigration Police would automatically result in the subject's deportation to his home-country. The truth of the matter is a bit more dramatic: they'll lock you up in the Immi-Jail and then they will wait until someone comes-in with enough money for the Fine & the Air-Ticket home. This could take a heck-of-a-lot of time, when yoy're considering morons like the one in this particular story . . . . . . .

    :D

    JGK / Pattaya

Like you said firstly about him having freinds or relatives who might be able to come to his aid,the dutch embassy maybe?? Now please read what you wrote secondly and you wil see you said it all. Theres no mistake in what i said about him being arrested and put in jail, hope you can see my point. :o

  15. Hi,

My names Chris i'm 29 years old and from the UK. I'm looking for work in Bangkok, i'm afraid i only have experience in the building trade which proably won't help me in BKK but i did work for myself in the UK on a self empolyed basis with two people working for me so i do have some out going skills. I would be willing to start as a traniee on a traniee's salary, please contact me if you think there might be some thing there.

    Many thanks.

    Chris.

  17. Hi all,

im in need of some advice concerning me and my preganant girlfreind, my girlfreind and i have been together for 14 months now, to are delight she is now 3 months gone and we are both very happy, i said to her that i don't want to get married due to the fact of seeing so many failed marrages in the family and with freinds she is really cool about this but would it affect me getting are first new born a British passport? although we both want to stay in LOS i think it would be a very good idear to look into the future as you never know what might happen. Any advice would great. :o

  18. well I know each of you will have something otherwise to say about who is the best team...hence my disclaimer that Arsenal is the best team "I" know.....so we dont need to argue over that :o

anyway.....just thought Id better brag about the victory last night :D hoorayyyyy!

thankyou all for reading, particularly the ManU people :D:D

yes yes I know I know :D but still cant help myself :bah:

Yes they really are the best team arn't they??? Going out of three cups in eleven days, lol. By the way congrat's on you fine display against everton, hahaha.

  19. I've read that Southern Thais tend to speak quickly and seem to be hot tempered compared to the other regions but I've never head of anybody having these experiences. They say those in the Issan are quite friendly despite having less experience with lots of farangs. I would find it tough to live among people like your neighbors.

Hi i have to agree with you about the Southerns Thais speaking really fast as my girlfreind dose but as for her temper shes as cool as a cucumber, lol.
