So is the loss of face that big?? it seems to me that there happy to flush there history away as long as they keep face.

    Chris.

  4. After having a few drinks last night a serton topic came up regarding history, i did cringe as i can't/won't back down if i truly think i'm wright. Anyway this is what i found when i proved(it was what they wan't to see) that it was not me making it up.

    http://www.acpp.org/uappeals/cprofile/thailand.html

The point is what a load of double standard rubish, so after reading it i said you lost then, theyt said no, i then said you got invaded they said no. Can anyone please explain the middle they missed out?

Please understand this was brought up against me, i'm not bashing Thailand.

They are at a loss with there excusses but need to keep there silly face rubish, the only help it gave me was they helped me make my mind up on a thai school or international.

    Great regards.

    Chris.

Aye right - "They allowed" - they either had no say in the matter or they were in cahoots - which is it?

Some say invaded then bowed to the inevitable

Some say the PM was up in Isaan on purpose.

    Thanks for your responce.

  6. What happens when you have the unfortunate episode of getting a very vindictive Thai guy pissed off...

Should you leave town and hope he will not follow you?

Should you stand up and fight it (police, mafia, friends, embassy)

Should you never have started in the first place?

Have anyone here ever gotten a Thai so pissed off that you feared for your life?

A guy here in town did that the other day. I don't know him but I do know that Thai guy (would not mess with him, since he has got money and power)

Now my dillemma here is that I do not know the farang, should I help him... (people that knows me would know that I dont care)... and just wish him good luck...

I have seen the Thai guy angry before but never this angry, I think that someone really pissed him off...

What should the foreigner do and what should I do?

    :o

What you both should do acourding to many on this fourm is do what they would do, not my advice but said by many, when in rome do as the romans, then once thats finished get back to reality and leave.

    Hungary

  8. Hi All,

I've been told by hospital that when they write the birth certificate for my first child they have to write in in Thai but my name as shown in my passport is in English, i've been told that is not a problem getting it changed at city hall where they translate it in to English, the thing that worrys me is when they said to my gf can you spell this for us in Thai then took a look at my passport and said were work it out. Is this a straight foward sound system? as i can only see it creating problems.

Please help anyone if you know how this system works, thanks.

    Chris.

  9. So yeah. Just got back to the USA after my 3rd long overstay, all of them about 2 years in length. I know... I know, all the old farts and bible thumpers and gonna jump in this thread with doom and gloom and "you should be shot"... I just want those that are overstaying because they are scared of immigration (in Thailand or other countries) to know that they have options, and that they should not be scared to clear things up. So before you guys bust up here with your predictable replies and "hate" just let me say:

    1. Yes, I know you will go to jail and be deported if caught (not fun, not cool, hel_l on earth)

    2. No, I don't think it is a "good" alternative to doing things legit, but...

    3. Not everyone has millions of baht in the bank, a thai wife, a college degree, 20,000baht to show every month, retirement(death) fund, daddy's uncles cousin police chief immigrations friend, etc...

    4. And very important: there is no reason to be afraid if you turn yourself in to immigration and pay the maximum fine. Period.

This is not an option for the faint of heart, or those that want to do things by the books, but actually as a friend of mine once said" you have the cheapest visa in Thailand".

Thailand should be applauded by the law and culture behind this option- Turn yourself in, pay the fine, walk.

Can't say i agree with it but i met a guy before who didn't have a visa, he said he'd been here for 4 years, when he left he had no problems just a 20'000 baht fine, when working it out he'd saved a lot of money and has no problem if he wants to return to the Kingdom.

    Chris.

  10. I agree with you Mr Lancelot but it is a favorite argument of racists to accuse people of being benefit frauds. I did say 'many people' not all.

So if you don't like your coutry being ripped off by benifit fraud thats racsim? <deleted>! I most people in the countrys you mentioned who moan about there own ripping of the system, i guess you were one of those.

  11. Unless you are legally married Chris, there's no legal avenue to enable you to stay in Thailand on an extended visa, and you are highly unlikely to get another multiple entry Non-Immigrant O visa in the South East Asian region. You won't have access to any Thai Court to try to seek relief. Good luck.

    Hi dr_pat_pong,

So if i was to get married then leave south east asia to go back to the UK to get another visa would this work? I have money in the bank to prove i have the funds to support my new family(me my girlfreind/wife plus baby)? and if so would i just be looking at a renewel of my current visa?

    Thanks.

    Chris.

If you are legally married you can extend the Non-Immigrant visa you presently hold, provided that you have a monthly income of 40,000 baht. Just having funds in a bank in Thailand will not enable an extension ( since October last year ).

    Hi,

Sorry to pick your brains again, do you know how long you have to show this income into your account, ie 3 months? and also dose the money need to come into a Thai account or can it be a UK account?

    Thanks for all your help.

    Regards.

    Chris.

  13. Hi All,

I'm currently on a non immigrant o visa (multiple entry) which i vaild to march of next year, i've been in Thailand for some time now and have a girlfreind who is seven and months pregant with my child, my wish is to stay here and bring up my child with my own family (sorry i'm only 29 so this is big for me) as me and my girlfreind have been together for 18 months. I know a lot of people may think i'm worring about new visa so far away and as we all know the laws change all the time but i just want tp prepare myself for any expence so i can save and be ready for it. So my question is what visa would i be looking at and would i have to leave Thailand to obtain it? Somone said to me theres a Thai court who deal in dependency visa's, is this true? If it is true what would the prosses be?

Any help with my question would very appreciated and if it helps if from the UK.

    Many kind regards.

    Chris.

  14. Why is they can get away with having a meter sign on the top of there taxi but when you get in it theres no meter? I've had this with all of them. No wonder tourist think there PI55 taking, can't even read the sign on the top of there own car , lol. As for laughing at them well i would recomend it only in a crowded tourist area infront of the police if possible, the only one on one fight your see in LOS is in the boxing ring.
