Want to change your front door or paint your house purple? You'll be destroying the character of the neighborhood and will get lectured, fined, and forced to make your house exactly the same as every other McMansion.
Some suburban homeowners have even been hassled for growing edible plants in their yards.
No loitering in front of your own house in hip-hop attire, or else the paranoid neighbors would call the cops because of a neighborhood watch mandate.
But in Thailand, you can burn all you want, let the dogs loose, dump Chang beer bottles all over your front yard, play loud music, park motorcycles anywhere. Your fence or house can be as weird as you want it to be. No one cares. "Free at last, thank God Almighty I'm free at last!"
You forgot to add you can (if you're Thai) run a business from home, starting work at 4.30 am making as much noise as you feel like.

So explain one thing to me I live in a city of 2 million (in OZ) had the mask mandate and only had a handfull of infections. Now that mandate has been dropped no mask any where and the infections has sky rocket to 17,000 per day and you are saying masks don't help? Get a life
Interesting, is that a general thing or is it peculiar to where you live.? Dare I ask the name of the city.?

so many people in the forums seemed to have moved to Thailand expressing dislike for their own and other western countries. But it appears they dislike and complain about living in Thailand also.
And so many people who have moved to Thailand dislike and complain about other people who have moved to Thailand.

Get rid of those stupid face diapers for good. Inside a shop maybe but now its just bullying and not necessary. My own Thai family are wearing them inside our car when we venture out. I try to reason with them how silly they look but the "sheep" do it anyway?
"bullying and not necessary" is nowt to do with it. This is Thailand they do things differently here, one way of ratcheting up the xenophobia is for a farang to walk around maskless with a know-all, supercilious smirk on his face.

If you're looking for a bit more sophisticated nightlife try Thonglor or Ekamai a bit further along Sukhumvit.

Well , he wasnt my mate , never met him or had anything to do with him and just read about him in the news , and I was asking the O.P , rather than you, but it seems I quoted you and not the O.P
Ha ha no offence meant, I thought you were winding me up over a previous mention of Tachilek. "your mate" was an attempt at humour with you living in Chang Mai.
Ah well, is it time for my Horlicks yet.?

He was your mate not mine, I've never lived up your way.

I hope everyone reads the OP and learns from it. A lot of lessons of what not to do . Retirement extensions are easy and fast if you just follow the rules and stay away from agents.
Even easier if you stay away from immigration and use an agent.
So a fella in the bar says.

Just been to a pharmacy here in the Nakhon
1 box (100) amlopine 5 mg 165.00 baht
1 box (100) zimva (statin) 10 mg 75.00 baht.
I do not understand the low price on the statins it's always been about 250 in the past.

rarely went there but always found it a kind of depressing place; crappy tourist market mingling with sex tourist bars. an urban developer with some imagination could make it quite a pleasant couple of pedestrian streets.
I think you'd be happier in Singapore or Warrington.
I'll be in BKK next week, can't wait to have a mooch around and a few drinks in Patpong.
It's nothing like the Patpong we first knew but that's life.

Yes they do. It's a silly vaguely racist assertion. My friend takes her Merc for regular maintenance. My British friend Never takes his truck for maintenance
Well I suppose that proves it then. Irony alert.
You object to generalisations but base your own racist assertion on one Thai and one Brit.

Don't you know that the tired old jibe about Brits and warm beer is decades out of date. Very few under 50 have ever drunk anything not ice cold and gassy.
