  1. It is a different type of heat to home - dont know what it is but it does feel different. Maybe its just our minds playing tricks or the different level of humidity.

Mind you still have to laugh at the thais who are going around in sweaters while I think, ooh this is lovely. Not too hot and not too cold. Just like my porridge :o

  2. Sorry, but I've never professed to know everything, but I do know this law, and have had a few battles over it. If you want to cave in to your bosses, that your choice- but you don't have to  :o

Yeh right. We dont have to - unless we want constant battles, sudden disappearance of goodwill, schedules being changed, petty offences suddenly being picked up on...........

you need to go back to a dose of reality

  3. Definitely a lesson there for TG's board :-

TG hedge 31% of fuel and see profits slump mightily

BA hedge 81% of fuel and see profits hold-up & rise slightly

Cue for a song  :  "When will they ever learn, when ..."  :D

A better lesson would be to divert all the vip pooying and pooyai who demand free upgrades and or seats on a full plane to the other thai national airline (RTAF ) :o

  4. Yeti - Foto Systems is the one out by the Laos embassy. If there is no other place I will try the Jebsen one, but I am hoping for somewhere easier to get to and cheaper - which is basically along the lines of Lopburis point.

There was another repair shop on Rama 4 which didnt want to touch it - wonder if its the same one. if you can find the address shove it on will you.

I just hate the thought of throwing a camara out if a local place could repair it for 1000B or something instead of 3000b at the official place ( that would be my wonder if its worth it barrier )

The fault is something to do with the power switch - no power is getting to the camera and yes, i have tried new batteries :o

  5. Anyone know of a cheap place to get my camera sorted in Bangkok. Its well out of its warranty so I dont want to go to the official repair shop - its expensive and its in the middle of nowhere by the Laos embassy.

Last time I walked round MBK none of the shops wanted to touch it.

Any recommendations? If the repair costs enough I would just ditch it - its 6 years old now.

    Cheers

  6. At Com center in Pattaya 200 Gig Seagate and box with power supply and fan 4900 Baht 5 year warranty They put together and format for you while you wait 10 Min's

Cheapest I could get for the 200Gb Seagate and Acor / Ocor (?) box was 5200B in Fortune. When I saw what the did to connect everythign up it was remarkably easy and I could have done it myself ( this from a man that thinks putting a plug into a socket requires a manual :o )

The smaller capacity drives are great for business use or photos - they are also far smaller, look smarter and solely powered by usb - but anytime you start saving movies, its going to be swallowed up in weeks. So I went for the big boy with an ac lead. Another cable across the floor but it will take a while to fill.

  7. I have English Lan, Lit GCSE Grade A, Maths B, GNV Business STUDIES Grade Merit this is the same as 2 A levels back in England and I speak French as had to take language with it I also have other 6 other GCSE... I worked in England as an IT consultant.

Based on my experience the Thai head teacher would ask you what the above means. They don't know an A level from a Q level. (I don't either) Are you a high school graduate? Or University?

Those are all non degree qualifications.

So once again we have someone with no degree or experience and who worked as a "consultant" wanting to come here. :o

  8. " i need 8000 baht for  flight ,  you guys and  donate me  100 /500/1000 bht "

I think I saw this guy at national stadium on sunday afternoon. the sign had helpful conversion rates as well from US$ & Euro.

The photo on the last page wasnt him, this guy was younger.

He got quite a few strange looks from tourists. He didnt have a cup or anything so no idea if he got any money. But then if he was getting the odd thousand baht off people, he wouldnt want the rest of us to know - would he!

  9. thats just stupid. you cant control what happens to other planes arriving.

Its just the same as 2 747 arriving at the same time - not uncommon in bkk or 2 747s and a A340.

what will you do when your smaller plane arrives at the same time as 3 other flights?

At the airports where the A380 is going to be used there are always queues because planes are always arriving.

  10. Didnt have time earlier to properly reply to the actual thread.

Harry. I will shoot the messenger. BANG!

It has always amazed and dismayed me, the reaction and lack of support McLeish has had from the small minority of the support right from his signing.

Among the comments were not rangers class, not one of us, not a top class/glamour manager - that was the most common heard.

Well, bearing in mind the financial ruin Dick Advocaat left us in ( this is the man remember who thought Torre Andre Flo was worth 12M, TWELVE ######ING MILLION QUID! ) 60-70Mil in debt without the benefit of a EPL tv deal meant only one thing. Cost cutting.

And McLeish has made a good stab at it. Could someone have done better? Maybe. Has he made some mistakes? Yes.

But what manager hasnt? Ole Taggart? Just list them. Getting rid of Stam, signing one dodgy goalie after another after Schmeichel, just look at his other signings Djemba-Djemba, Kleberson, Veron, etc etc

Those calling on the likes of Hitzfeld I fear are living in a dream world, wanting to get us back where we belong. Which is exactly where? Apart from one freak run, there has only been 1 scottish team in europe after Xmas in about 10 years.

How much will he cost? God knows, but I bet its more than McLeish. Can the club afford another "glamour" manager? I dont think so. The debts are still large although now manageable but it doesnt leave us with huge transfer budgets. Maybe 5/6M a season plus Bosmans. Not exactly Chelsea level.

I hope he does turn it round, I really really do. It makes me :D puke to see so called supporters wanting the team they "support" lose just to get rid of a manager.

But, if it does come to it. Who to get?

Moyes? Although supposedly a Rangers man, he played for Celtic. A move that would annoy and not be acceptable to supporters on BOTH sides of the Old Firm. It would be a brave man who would be an ex player and become the manager of the other club.

Curbishly? Dont know. He has the experience of wheeling and dealing and getting the best out of players. So not a bad choice, but would he move to the SPL? Hmm

    Sam Allardyce? As above

Butcher / Gough / McCoist? Too inexperienced.

George Burley? Too many rumours about him,

Graeme Souness, :o HE walked out on Rangers to go to Liverpool and would never be accepted back by the main body of supporters. Anyway, the SFA would have a field day with him.

Walter Smith. He was effectively sacked and nah. He just got the scotland job.

    The other foreign mob?

Brian Laudrup, Michael Laudrup. Already ruled themselves out

    Didier Deschamps. Nah

Claudio Ranieri. The Tinker Man? We dont have enough players for him. Or the cash

I dont see any current scottish managers moving to take the job.

Whoever it will be it will be someone that we will all go, of course its the obvious choice - afterwards.

  11. It will NOT be Fergie, one must remember he was chased out of Rangers because he married a catholic, and if you read his autobiography you get the distinct impression that he has never forgiven them.

Oh dear, this old myth. :o

He would like people to think that was the reason. He was transferred because he was no more than an average player and about number 4 in the pecking order of strikers.

    Or this version from wikipedia

"In 1967, he joined Rangers for £65,000, then a record fee for a transfer between two Scottish clubs. He was blamed for a goal that they conceded in the 1969 Scottish cup final[2], and was forced to play for the club's junior side instead of the first team[3]. According to his brother, Ferguson was so upset by the experience that he threw his losers' medal away.[4]"

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Ferguson#Playing_career

Thats the reason why he doesnt like Rangers

Boring but true. He wasnt good enough.

If he was that good a player I think he would have gone to a better team than Falkirk.

  12. I was in Big-C today and noticed that they've already got the Christ-mas trees up for sale. Have they no shame? Here it is, not even Thanksgiving yet, it's barely past Halloween even! A few years ago they'd wait until after Thanksgiving. I can even remember a time when you'd be hard pressed to find anything Christ-massy in the shops. If anyone ever goes looking for the roots of Thailand's social ills I think they should find no better place to start than with the loss of the Spirit of Christ-mas.

well its better than at home where they shout in your face ARE YOU FEELING CHRISSMASSY YET? From October with the usual suspects of Slade, Wham and Band Aid playing over the store radio.

15 days of decoration and promotion thats all they should be allowed. Maybe then it might get back to the original feeling of excitement we had when we were young rather than the total commercial MUST BUY NOW! Only 40 days to go! feeling its got.

    Bah humbug. :o
