  1. Now we are talking correct!

I received an email from Baht Smart that said it is one to two days to get the dosh from Australia. Let us just say it is two days and be done with it.

That way we won't be sweating on when the dosh arrives. The problem I see is getting the dosh from your own bank to the ANZ bank account of Baht Smart.

    Thats resolved the timing.

Now the rate needs to be sorted. It seems some problem is present there. Is it the one you book at the time you order the transfer (pending the dosh arriving) or is the one when they receive the dosh and commit to the transfer. This needs to be clarified.

The no fees are great but my last transfer from CBA sending Baht to BBk was sta red after 4.30pm and arrived 47 minutes later at the gazetted BBk advertised rate.

But of course I had paid fees.

What we have to weight up is a good rate from Baht Smart (converted in Australia) against a better known rate in Thailand conversion BUT with fees

It depends on how much you send.

I know that I depend on the timing and the timing sometimes out weights the fees and the lower rate. Lower rate effected because of conversion in Ausralia and not Thailand.

Timing, fees, amount sent, all work out how you want to use any service.

    Regards

  2. I got my one year extension to stay at Sakhon Nakhon Immigration on Friday. I noticed on the wall there was a big sign saying 90 day reporting was free and please report anyone charging you. Not exactly the same, but non the less seems they are trying to cut down on corruption.

    Good news George.coffee1.gif

  3. Are you sure about Panasonic security cameras?

I have no difficulty browsing the Panasonic website with Chrome Version 43.0.2357.132 m. Randomly, I clicked on the Ultra HD 360 Degree Outdoor Network Camera and the information for it indicates no limitation to a particular browser. I have a feeling that Panasonic would lose quite a lot of business if its website could be browsed only with IE.

A web search with "Panasonic surveillance cameras and Chrome" brought up a question by a user of a Panasonic camera operated with Chrome and he was advised to update to the latest Java version, as at that time older Java versions apparently had some security risks to which Google did not want the Chrome users to be exposed. Microsoft, it seems, had no such scruples.

No problem getting the Panasonic web site on firefox.

  4. I thought is was just a problem in Korat.angry.png

I have just come back from MAKRO and yes they had everything, in fact I just said to Mrs Jessi that we wont bother with TESCO any more.

I find Big C is OK, yes I like their bread dept. The staff and Big C are very helpful much more than the staff at TESCO.

I'm glad I'm not the only one finding this with TESCO.coffee1.gif
