  1. Firstly, of course, RIP the victims concerned.

If you read the story, its a bit contradictory. The woman who was asleep suggested that the driver may have been going faster to make up time, but she was asleep so really we don't know.

The policeman who said that the driver may have been sleepy while driving fast was not stating a fact, only a theory.

The fact is, from the story as its been presented, we just do know know what happened, so it's not really fair at this stage to be blaming the driver.

Accidents like this do happen in other countries too, I totally agree that road safety is an issue here but I think we also have to also understand that not every driver is an idiot and not every crash is the fault of the driver.

To say the driver would have run away if not dead is also very stupid, not all drivers run away.

Accidents like this are extremely rare in Australia. Can't remember when l read about the last passenger bus crash in Aust.

Yes I agree but in OZ we have driver education, defensive driving courses, road rules & laws.

Here in Thailand we have get out of my way because its me,me,me,me

I see the stupidity on Thai roads every day and it scares the sh!t out of me.

  2. The things you can learn on TV,

In 2002 I checked on importing powered milk for a Thai client.

He was going to ship it trough to Laos

The Import duty @ Thai port was 550% to safe guard the Thai dairy industry

If the container seal was not broken when it crossed into Laos no duty would be charge

in Thailand. this information was from the Australian milk board.

    Im not sure about now.coffee1.gif

  3. Bahtsmart,

I have never exchanged emails with you, except when I have done a transfer Bahtsmart send me an email of notice.

You dont want to answer my question on TV because it will be there for all to see.

From what I have experienced Bahtsmart will give the lowest exchange rate that comes up during the transaction.

A man of your word you are not.

Once we received your cleared funds in our ANZ Bank account, we will pay your beneficiary in Thailand immediately with the current market rate at that time. NOT TRUE.

  4. At a large EP in Suratthani I had two Ss who failed the final in science and hadn't shown enough production to even consider any sort of "over-ride".

The admin told me to shorten the exam to 20 questions, I did that. Still failed. Then it was down to 10 questions, failed. Then I see the two in her office, they're making kaleidoscopes from colored paper. I ask what they're doing, " This is their final exam", she said.

At the end of the semester I was told to give the Ss a passing mark, in the middle 70s. I refused. I was told my final check would not be ready until these two passed with a 75. I refused, went to a lawyer and case was closed within the next two weeks. My contract wasn't renewed .. oh boo hoo.

Good on you. Yes you did win because you showed these slime bags that you cant be bought.

What is going on in the education system here is the reason that we have dumb Doctors etc etc the list goes on, only the wealthy will get the top jobs.coffee1.gif

Imagine if these accidents had happened in Thailand, what an outcry there would be on TVF, the whole Thai population would have been slated and Thailand put through the wringer, but of course they didn't happen in Thailand OMG, there were Farangs involved, what is the world coming to, perhaps they were American Thai's, yep, that must be it. facepalm.gif

Always off topic this is Thailand

  6. I guy I know in BC bought a German car I warned him but no he didnt listen

Took it for a service, only thing done was an oil change COST 16,000B not even a new filter.

    So you go figure.

When I first went to him for a small job he charged me 700B next day same problem

said he wanted to keep the car all day as it was a big job.

I took it to a local Thai mechanic he fixed it 100B and never had another problem with it,

  7. In Korat province.

My MIL has a problem with some rice farms she owns.

She has been to the land office & they have told her nothing

can be done until the military go to that area to sort out the problems.

They are working in Pak Chong now and making their way through the province

how long this will take is just a guess, but it all being controlled by

    the military.

She is sitting on 20 to 30 Million Baht of land, can not sell it until its cleared

by the Military. It seems in the old days they would buy land get a receipt

but no official paper work or land title.

    Thainess at its best.facepalm.gif

She may not own the land but allowed to use it if she doesn't have the Titles, it could probably belong to the government and she may have to buy it, I know their is a lot of land like this in Thailand

I understand that but try & tell her, better off talking to the buffalo. Besides I am just a falang what would I know.facepalm.gif
