  1. I highly recommend the pizzas from this place.

I opted for the 'REGINA' pizza (ham & mushroom) but be sure to go for the large size 280 baht not the small size 170 baht.

Large for one person or two?

    One.

A small pizza would not be enough for one hungry person. I do however, give one slice of the big pizza to the Mrs. depending on how generous or full up I feel.

  2. They sell Robinsons squash at Friendship Supermarket on Pattaya Tai, all varieties with/without sugar. It is expensive though at approx 200 baht per litre.

Just along from the Robinsons brand is the 'Golden Pan' brand at 22 Baht per litre. This tastes better than Robinsons IMHO and I recommend the pineapple squash and also the orange squash. Give the grape squash and the lychee sqash a miss though, they taste weird.

  3. i can tell you now that is 100% not a photo of a bowling green dinner

Now you're really rubbing it in!!!!!

Please have some mercy on those of us who only visit Pattaya occasionally.

Usually I don't miss a nice roast dinner, but you have to keep reminding me.

Anyway, hope that you enjoy it. At least I know that I will next time I'm in FunTown.

    See you there next Sunday!

That photograph was taken over one year ago in August 2009. Of course the dinner will look different during your two week Pattaya holiday in August 2010.

  4. you need to photocopy your passport first page with the picture on it and copy of the immigration stamp on your arrival .Photocopy the TM arrival card too and phtoto copy the page with your last tourist visa too. you need to fill up the application form from the Immigration and paste a photo with it. You need to pay 1900 baht for extension of 30days and you can go there within 3 days before expiration date on the immigration stamp.

Thanks for the feedback. However I did read on another forum that the photograph should never be glued or pasted, just handed over loose so the Immigration Officer can staple it to the A/F.

Glued photo's on A/F's are rejected causing inconvenience and loss of photo and more expense to the farang.

  5. I just wanted to add that when I posted the original review, I was under the impression that breakfast was the only food served. Since then I have returned several times (it really is a nice space), and have literally turned the page on the menu. They've got a lot of stuff, from salads to steaks and they have quite a bit of seafood too. My Thai friends (who you know are picky) have given it the seal of approval.

It seems to me there's a lot of good news lately in Pattaya on the food front. Be sure to support the good places so they don't disappear!

I agree, the place is very good, but on the Thai food front they have a very stiff competition right next door from a well-run eatery which seems to advertise very effectively with a blackboard and coloured chalk-sticks. In fact I did start a thread on this place a year ago

    Soi Xzyte Cafe

  6. I am not a big fan of 'Simons' fish & chips although I do use it sometimes if I'm in Jomtien and have my beer goggles on.

On the whole I was disappointed with 'Goose' but I think I went at a bad time, when the stuff wasn't fresh or they could not be bothered.

I had a decent fish and chips in Shenanigans on 'The Avenue' but it was costly with a pint. 500 baht +

Best so far is at the Bowling Green on Soi Xzyte or Soi Drarin, I did another thread on that place a few months back. (Worth seeking the place out).

  7. Strange that birthday and xmas cards seldom arrive at my place though the address is in Thai and English. :annoyed:

If you send greetings cards to or from Thailand just tuck the envelope flap in.

Christmas cards and Birthday cards are routinely opened and dumped by dishonest mail workers looking for cash, postal-orders, and cheques etc.

  8. You might want to try this.

Put yout wallet in the front pocket of your shorts with the open top pointing down.

Twist the pocket through 180deg. Or even 360deg if the pocket will allow it. Only works with some shorts though.

No way to get at it without un-twisting the pocket.

My recommendation would be to put your wallet in the front pocket of your jeans and then above it; seal the pocket with a baby's nappy safety pin.

It might sound silly, but it has saved me thousands of baht in anti-pickpocketing on Soi 6, Soi 6/1 and Beach Road after dusk.

  9. Another danger zone for aggressive sex worker pickpockets is Soi Chaiyapoon, just off of Soi Buakaow. I haven't been robbed there but most every time I go they run out to touch and they are incredibly obvious wannabe thieves. I am sure they get their fair share of drunks, I just dart away.

I'm puzzled about that, because I walk up and down there without problems. Do you mean another soi of Soi Buakhaow, like Sois Lengkee or LK ?
