Thanks for the information.
You need to female to female connection to go between the end of the short flex off the usb to the long RF cable end.
The idea of buying the good cable is to reduce the loss, I work in communciations so I know all about this just need to conform the type of connection on the antenna.
Is this a N type connection????

I have recently had the cat cdma with external antenna installed at my home. I am about 12 KM from the nearest antenna and need this to get the best signal.
Having read through the topics on here about the cables and connections I am sure I have the typical wrong installation. I know for sure the cable adapter does not fit correctly into the MC760 USB dongle. I will take a guess and say that some of my cable is 75ohm and they have bodged a separate joint of cable to make up the distance using sat tv type connections.
I am currently out of the country and would like to purchase the correct cable and connections before I head back to Thailand.
I have found this on ebay for the correct connection to the MC760 (the correct fit)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
This would mean I would need to purchase the following also (adapter between usb flex and main cable)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
And use this cable to connect to the Yagi antenna: (75ft lmr400 50 ohm cable)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
However I would like to confirm the type of connection on the Yagi antenna?
Can someone please confirm the connection type on the external antenna..
Much appreciated.

They used to do this service but it was canceled a year or more back. Not sure if is still running.

Irish Clock, I live 100km outside Udon and make the Irish Clock a place I always visit when in town. If you want an overnighter in Udon go to the Top Mansion just a bit further up the road from the Irish Clock. You can also pick up steaks etc from Nobis opposite Top Mansion.

Yes on the level between departures and arrivals. Its run by Chubb, good service, they log your bag in with your passport. A few months ago it was 100thb a day.

Best option would be like stated above, buy a booster then have an output from your sat box and feed it to the booster and then onwards to your rooms.
There are some RF all in one remotes that will also work over greater distances/obstacles.

All depends on the offers.
And if you have to travel to Don Muang or want to fly from Swampi.
Nok air is usually cheaper, but I usually use Air Asia... if you are getting the flight back from Udon though its nearly always running late.

try Vidalia then do some research and you can set it up to just use UK IP exits.
-
You can tether using the usb cable also. You can also do this the other way around when you only have a cat cable connection and you need to update your phone.

Been doing this for ages. Got an Iphone from 02 Uk and then jailbreak and unlock it. all the info is on www.iclarified.com.
Then just pop in any SIM you want.
Do not get one of the mobile shops to do this for you as it will lock your phone up to the itunes of the computer that you load it from.

Its located on the floor between the departues and arrivals, run by Chubb. I did this a couple of months ago. Cost 100THB a day for a bag. Good service checked in properly with passport and x-rayed.

Its a big scam. I have had a few of these email recently. They hack peoples email account and send an email supposedly from your friend saying I have purchased this from this site...
They are operating on a few different site names. This is the third one of have seen now but all using this ele name at the beginning.
Its too good to be true and who would operate a site like this using a hotmail account...

I have the PSI sat system and there is no way I would recomend it. Ok for Thais, to watch there crap "movies". Just full of junk Thai and Indian channels. Also got UBC, that I used to activate everytime I was back in Thailand, but now I have heard that you can only reactivate for a minimum of 3 months..
I looking at getting something new that I dont have to worry about, I have been to a few hotels that have all the channels and the south african sports channels, so I think thats the way I am going to go..

Try Drop inn its just over Suk but not to far a walk. In a nice quiet location, wireless internet and breakfast included.

You could first try and get a USB signal booster for you latptop. You maybe able to pick up some free wifi.
Im looking at this CAT for upcountry also.
You can also use 12call and use that as a modem to connect the laptop to the net.
Plenty of information availibel for this on this site.

Is your iphone unlocked and jailbroke.
If so you need to have cydia running and then add the yellowsn0w to be able to unlock the phone to use 12call.
Do not get someone to hack it for you, i did this and learnt the hard way. Your phone then gets locked to the computer that was used as it registers there Itunes account.
if you need some information on this look on

I am in the same situation. Got the iphone but had to get the contract to get the phone and never use the minutes. I also use my phone while working abroad so wanted a proper UK number, if you get a pay as you go, with most networks you end up with this crap method of having to text to make a phone call when roaming.
I have unlocked and Jailbroke the ipone 3g and use it everywhere.
I also have a Nokia I use as a standby incase of any problems.
If you have internet, you can share the wireless from your laptop to the iphone and use skype also.

Try Tubesock. You have to pay for the application but it works with no problems for youtube straight to itunes.

Going to Hua Hin for my first time in a week or so. looking forward to it. I live up country but still like the break away and explore a bit of Thailand when I can.
From what I have read here, the things you are looking for are all the european refinements.
I have been to Samui already it was ok for a few days but not my idea of Thailand, its over influenced by European style.
Hopefully HH will be a bit of a change to this.
