Who should I see for possible ME/CFS in Chiang Mai?
I don't know that I have the above mentioned affliction and I sure hope I don't. But I would like a doctor attuned to these things to confirm that. GPs and health check-ups have not led to any clues as to why I'm so wiped out all the time. I think a diagnosis of ME/CFS is in the field of a neurologist. Anyone in town, in particular, to whom I might direct my query? Thank you.

Thanks, Rob. Is there an amount they're looking for as a balance?

TM.7 - Application for Extension Based On Retirement.
I have a copy of the TM47, that's easy enough. The bank stuff is just silly and repetitious, IMHO. And same info dated same as your application? That's just sometimes impossible. I'll do my best. I'll probably get shot down with the monthly transfers....I'll report back.

TM.7 - Application for Extension Based On Retirement.
Chiang Mai...thanks Dr.! I actually stopped by Immi this morning to ask but my god, it was a mad house. For some reason, I expected it to be more tranquil. Maybe on account of the weather. Silly me. I turned around and left without asking anything....too insane and much loss of time.

TM.7 - Application for Extension Based On Retirement.
Hi guys, I'm applying for my extension based on retirement soon (this week hopefully). I am using the 12 month deposit method and have 12 months of statements showing at least $65k coming in from abroad every month...as international transfer. Fingers crossed it suffices. Other than that, I'm unsure of what I need from the bank. Do I need: 1. Passbook updated the day of the application? 2. A credit advice from the bank (done this week)? 3. A letter from the bank saying...hmm, I'm not sure what, that I have an account there? 4. All of the above? Thanks much!

Bangkok Bank statement doesn't show correct description for Wise transfers
Thanks for your input, Rob. There is another thread I started where BENQ showed me that if I download my Kasikorn bank statements in Thai language, they show the transfer as international. It's odd as on the Wise statement it shows "local" but I'm liking it! And yes, you are very right. I could ditch Wise and just go wire transfer. A lot more expensive if I'm not mistaken. And it just irked me to spend that extra money when Wise was/is so much easier. Silly as in the end I could have ended up spending a lot more money if I had to use an agent. It could still turn out to be the case. I'm not always smart in the way I operate. That's the sad reality.

Wise receipts + Thai bank receipts as proof of monthly transfers (retirement visa)
Thanks Norbra! I will contact Kbank to get the credit advice. For the date of that, it doesn't have to be the same day you are applying for the visa, correct? Silly question and I would assume no but....immi knows no bounds.

Wise receipts + Thai bank receipts as proof of monthly transfers (retirement visa)
Holy moly!!!!!! Yes yes yes it DOES say that on mine. You have helped me immensely and relieved a lot of stress. Now, onward to immigration with this. You have my appreciation!

Wise receipts + Thai bank receipts as proof of monthly transfers (retirement visa)
I will check it, thanks for the idea. I do have K bank internet banking though I had forgotten it! However, the Wise receipt says funds delivered via "Local Bank Transfer." Hope springs eternal. For the record, immigration hopefully will update their list of accepted documents to mirror the times we live in. Times where Wise receipts should be good enough. That's my 2 cents.

Bangkok Bank statement doesn't show correct description for Wise transfers
Thanks BENQ, I don't have answers about why WISE works the way it does but I'm done with trying to figure it out. I've used Bangkok Bank and Kasikorn both and a few times I've gotten FTT transfers but there is no rhyme or reason and speaking with WISE on the phone they told me they could not guarantee FTT transfer no matter what. Yes, I know some folks get FTT all the time and have gotten it forever. I have a very close friend in this situation...gets FTT every time. But alas, I cannot and have given up on it. I'm hoping immigration will start to accept the Wise receipts plus my Thai bank paper trail. If not, hello agent. Or....I will try DTV. Thanks for your help! Bam

Wise receipts + Thai bank receipts as proof of monthly transfers (retirement visa)
My monthly Wise transfers to my Kasikorn bank show as local transfers no matter what I do. Has anyone had luck showing both the Wise transfer receipts together with the Thai bank receipts (Kasikorn in my case) to an immigration officer as proof of the monthly $65k coming from abroad? I tried this a year ago and was shot down. However, things might have changed and also my bank statement was quite complicated back then. Now, the only incoming money to my Kasikorn account is the single monthly transfers using Wise and just a few out so an easy read for the officer. I will also get the credit advise from Kasikorn. One member here did mention this method as being accepted in some places and I reached out to him but have yet to hear back. Thanks folks!

Bangkok Bank statement doesn't show correct description for Wise transfers
Hi Liquorice...asking a question on one of your older threads. I'm about to go for my 1-year retirement extension and I am using the monthly transfer route for my proof of funds. My funds from abroad, via Wise, almost always show as a local transfer to my Kasikorn account. I had the same experience with Bangkok Bank account and when I talked with Wise on the phone (a year ago), they told me there was no way to guarantee them showing as foreign transfer. I know some folks have had other experiences. Anyhow, my Wise receipts, along with the Thai bank receipts, were not accepted a year ago. Do you have knowledge of these Wise receipts (plus the Thai bank receipt/credit advise) now being accepted as proof the funds are from abroad? That sure would be helpful if so.... Many thanks, Bamboozled!

Septoplasty in Chiang Mai
Never heard this one before: I asked about an appointment next month and the hospital replied that "Normally, the Dr. doesn't accept foreigners." Anywho....

Septoplasty in Chiang Mai
Thanks for the info, X. How was the recovery after the operation? I know a couple people that have had it. One had great results and the other kind of shrugged it off and wasn't sure how much it had helped him. I also have very poor sleep and while I don't know that the septum/poor breathing is causing that (it wouldn't be the only reason) I can imagine breathing easily must be very nice for any activity, indeed. At the gym, I am constantly sniffing and pulling on my cheeks to open up my nasal passages more. I seem to suffer a stuffed up nose more often during that activity or at least I am more aware of it at that time. And often, going into a prone position for some exercise, I can feel the pressure in my sinuses shift.

Septoplasty in Chiang Mai
I haven't concluded that I need septoplasty. I want to consult with her and see what she says. I just keep having sinus issues and pressure in my head and overall feeling of being under the weather. And recently had 6 months of one nostril constantly runny and dripping. Also, discomfort breathing through the nose and feeling stuffed up. I don't know that the deviated septum is causing all these symptoms...except for the restricted breathing through the nose which is obvious. Thanks as always, Sheryl!

Septoplasty in Chiang Mai
Hi Sheryl, I'm back to pursuing the septoplasty. I'm not sure how I got side-tracked for 3 years. Probably I started feeling better and kicked the can down the road. The doctor you had recommended is apparently busy all month. Are you familiar with this one, please (also at Sriphat)? Tanyathorn Teeranoraseth,M.D. Thank you.

Need to purchase new tabletop gas burner. Suggestions?
It is Infrared, not induction. I don't totally understand the tech but it gets hot like a flame so pot doesn't need to touch the surface. It sort of creates a very hot glow instead of a big blue flame. You can actually grill skewers over it. Heat up more quickly and I think to a hotter temp and a more even heat. This is more about grills but you get the idea. I'm not sure how useful it is in the stove-top situation but my last one had one, as well, so I stuck with the tradition. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=what+is+infrared+burner#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:8743b881,vid:UPTAsUkqIlg,st:42

Shoulder pain and thinking I need an MRI in Chiang Mai...
I ended up going to Rajavej to at least get an opinion ASAP rather than wait for the clinic to open. Doc said probably a partially torn rotator cuff and to give it a rest for 2 months and see how I feel. He doesn't think totally torn so could heal itself with no surgery. And thought an MRI was unnecessary, at this stage.

Thank you, Sheryl. That's right near Rajavej as well so I'll check it out first.

Shoulder pain and thinking I need an MRI in Chiang Mai...
Thanks all. I'm going to have it checked out this morning. Wish me luck. 8500k at McCormick. If I do need an MRI....that doesn't break the bank. Appreciated!

Shoulder pain and thinking I need an MRI in Chiang Mai...
It makes sense. I guess my reluctance is due to my last experience with an orthopedic doctor who was cavalier about my discomfort and sent me up to physical therapy after a 3 minute assessment. PT did nothing.

Shoulder pain and thinking I need an MRI in Chiang Mai...
Is Chiang Mai MRI the best (most economical) place to have this done? I know Sheryl has posted about this clinic in the past. Or do I have the cart before the horse and should see an orthopedic doctor first? I'm just afraid if I see the doctor at Rajavej (my go to hospital, generally), they will rope me into doing an MRI there at an elevated rate. Any cost estimate, folks? Cheers and thank you!

Need to purchase new tabletop gas burner. Suggestions?
I ended up buying this one...in case anyone is interested. Far from the cheapest but handling the cheap ones did make me realize why they are cheap. And I was reminded that my former cheap one did break a piece off the gas intake pipe very early on.

Need to purchase new tabletop gas burner. Suggestions?
Nice idea for portability! I like the two burner (or 3) versions that have space in the middle for setting down pots and whatnot. I have a LOT of whatnot.
