Did this boat not have those self inflating life rafts?
I guess not as surely they would have begun evacuating the boat minus 1 or 2 crew members.
Did they even carry enough life vests for everyone?Oh dear, making money seems to be the number one priority again.

I think he should be deported but I doubt he will be, probably be someone in a position of authority who’ll take a brown envelope to set him free.
vast majority of people can drink all day and night and get totally sozzled resulting in falling down, 🤭 being sick 🤢 and sleeping 😴.
Then there’s that minority that become violently dangerous to all around them.
We’ve all seen them. Time to get rid.

You have a good point, however, I still stand by my argument and even in the “ultra regulated markets” as you put it, council regulated taxis are still fiendishly expensive and this creates a space, a space for competition, and competition drives innovation and in come the entrepreneurs with their modern fancy new apps. And I must add that a lot of Thai women don’t feel safe with the Thai cabs but feel safer in a Grab.
But the real point I’m making is that Thai Meter Taxis are also well regulated but choose to defy those regulations.
Personally when I’m in Downtown Bangkok I prefer to take my life in my hand and use the motorcycle taxis. -
The so called “meter taxis 🚖 “ who often don’t want to use meter are angry at the “Grab, Bolt, Etc era they find themselves in. Not surprisingly, however these new types of app based taxi wouldn’t exist had it not been for the greed of some (a lot) of the meter taxi drivers.
The Taxi industry is like all others in that, if you are too expensive the competition door will open.
It’s hard to find a solution when corruption exists at all levels and introducing a scheme which rewards drivers by giving them gold star badges just opens up another potential layer of bribery and corruption. I have visited Thailand every year for the past 15 years and finding the taxi who’s driver instantly says yes when asked to use the meter is year on year becoming increasingly difficult.

Hmm rather a lot of cash.
Looked like he was in a hurry to get rid of the fake notes as he already had 200k in genuine TB.
Must be quite good fakes to have fooled the operator at first.

They stole 2k baht from me at a checkpoint in On Nut a few years back. I’ve hated them ever since.
Me too. They wanted a lot more. I wish I had gone to Police Station but I was afraid of being set up so instead I paid up.

He looks awesome and I bet his love is immeasurable.
A dog of this size and strength can cause life changing disfiguring injuries to a child’s face ( hands, legs etc) in a split second, particularly if they were suddenly startled by perhaps a child slipping and landing on him while he slept. We’ve all read and continue to read stories about how trusted dogs attacked seemingly out of character.
I sincerely hope this never happens with your lovely dog, but consider this, if it were to happen and your dog attacked someone they, (assuming they were not killed) you and others would have to live with the consequences for the rest of your lives constantly being reminded.
This isn’t aimed at you in particular it is aimed at all the dog owners who think it will never happen to them with such certainty that they take their eye off the ball.

Actually, it is your fault
Always check passport for stamp, date, expiry etc before leaving, including airports
Yes, it often seems harsh being told that someone else's shortcomings are your fault but in this case it's true, we have to take responsibility and check that things are done properly, we are dealing with people who turn up for work and often watch clock until time for home and failing to stamp passport = no consequences for them and possibly big headache for you-bet you check in future. I hope this will be easily rectified. Best wishes

Well they were actually apprehended on the Yacht in question, with the murdered mans wife still tied up on the yacht.
I would say it sounds fairly compelling to me. At least they are off the streets and cannot harm anyone else for the time being.
I hope this helps the victims wife and family obtain some closure on this aweful incident.
I Hope so too, however there seems to be many conflicting stories, the BBC report said that they tried to escape in the yacht's dinghy which broke down, leaving the woman on the yacht, on seeing them trying to swim back to her yacht she then started the engine leaving them adrift with the dinghy, they then swam ashore.

Anyone who invests in a company without checking that it exists, deserves to be parted from their money.
What happened to good old Due Dilligence???

I don't want to be disrespectful to the victims, but is there someone in 2009 who doesn't know that swimming in the ocean with high waves is dangerous?
Do we need a beach guard to tell us?
And God forbid having beach guards equipped with jet-skies...Just my humble opinion.
PS many years ago i was nearly drowned in S.Lanka, and i had nobody to blame except myself
ere ere! someone who believes that we should take responsibility for ourselves and our own actions, thank you so much, I thought I was the only one left

wow MJP thanks for the reply, didn't think anyone would lol
I am not shipping personal goods I am shipping a product for resale in LOS, does that make it easier?, should I contact with Import/Export as opposed to Parcel companies, who, as you correctly say will charge at least £500 making my business deal completly non viable.
Thanks for your time MJP

This is the first topic I ever posted, I hope I stay within the rules and generate at least a little interest.
I need to find a finacially viable method of shipping parcels from the UK to LOS (Chonburi) Parcels are approx 100 kg. Speed of shipment is not critical but cost is. I do hope someone on here has prior experience- thanks in advance

Unfortunately, I'm way up north, with no nightlife, or chance of alternative "comfort", , so I guess for now, I'll be spending a lot of time on the internet.
Tell her to give you some advanced notice and the approximate duration of the silent treatment, next time. That way you can book a sightseeing tour of Pattaya for a few days. If she doesn't start talking to you after telling her that, you can just say that you take her silence to mean she agrees that you can go.
lol! you should be a Lawyer Mr Bojangles lol

Hello,
my first entry on my tourist visa is expiring on 1st of July. I plan to flight to China but the flight leaves on 2nd of July at 12:50 am ie 50 minutes after the 1st of July.... Will I have to pay for overstay or is it fine as long as I pass the immigration booth at the airport before midnight?
Thanks a lot!
I'm not 100% but fairly certain that once you go through passport control you are stamped as having departed and therefore you must only go through in good time to escape penalty. Good luck

Boo I am not agressive at all I just posted my bad luck I did not insult anybody, if I did let me know, what I am trying to say I just lost every thing I have worked for and now I have to start againThe op is understandably upset & has been asked to tone down on his agression. There is no need to flame or insult him & any more posts doing so will be removed & warnings given.Sorry to hear that Fred but remember this-your units are material things and although I appreciate your frustrations at some lowlife **** taking it away from you, perspective must prevail-Don't be a hero Fred! I think the kind of people that would do this to you believe they are entitled, and if you respond (which I believe you must) they will percieve that as you crossing the line, now the fight is raised to a new level!!!!

Frozen pension policy turns British expat's dream into a nightmare

If you have 36 qualifying years you are entitled to your pension, you’ve earned it.
so for them to then freeze it just because you choose to live elsewhere is nothing short of criminal.
Time for change but don’t hold your breath!
