  1. Wasn't it the case that you could buy alcohol in supermarkets at such times provided you purchased more than 10 litres. I got told that in Villa Market once.
  2. That's rather difficult to believe. They haven't yet been forgiven for what they did. That's the impression I got when I lived there. And the Chinese prefer cheaper places more than expensive places despite the exponential growth of their middle class exceeding everyone else by a country mile and more.
  3. About 20 years ago it was going to be Saraburi.
  4. I bet he was more stunned than shocked. I would be!
  5. Unfortunately somewhat beneficial yes, but of course, greater priority to goes towrads understanding how the traffic moves here, which is not very difficult downtown.
  6. oNLY YOU CAN DECIDE THAT.
  7. Well at least he apologized and can hopefully learn from his mistakes.
  8. Did anyone really think he had?
  9. This is rather schocking indeed. He looks African but one of my former colleagues told me all Sfricans do is climb up trees and make babies. What's he doing in a hosital then?
  10. One of many, perhaps the worst examples of political incopemetance the Americans became famed for and the Thai's are also struggling with. Probably remaining in play. If I were running the show I'd say citizens are no longer ever allowed to own and use guns. Anyone caught doing so will be arrested and charged and just to teach you a lesson you won't forget as soon as you get back home we'll have your gaff bombed to smithereens then flog your motor on the black market if you're lucky. It's very sad that gun crime is so prevalent here. Did everyone grow up watching Dirty Harry movies or something. Why not cherish your religion and live more in accordance with it. Buddhists and not supposed to cause harm all religions are peaceful by their nature despite their respective misappropriation which history is replete with. And despite a number of pre-enlightenment French writers claims, suicide isn't noble, it's both tragic and uneccesary always. Like Romanianh philosopher Emile Cioran once said 'the problem with suicide is that it always comes too late'. But if you read into his life, you will know why he said that and of course it's not the problem. His half-arsed attempt to sound amusing makes no sense. It would have been better to say that although tragedy is part of life, suicide should never be how things end. It can never be justified and is sign of weakness and resignation at best. My best from school had his life taken by someone who then killed himself to escape prison. Still unjustifiable. He could have reexamined why he lost his girlfriend instead and accepted it and made himself better as most do or some do. Guns render most more atavistic at best and worse likely to no longer remain part of society, as guns are for the as thick as <deleted> only make you mistrustful and suggest you have absolutely no idea of what life is about. Weapons are for wimps only especially the clueless ones which Thailand has a multitude of,and lives are destroyed becuase of it. How can they not know guns are designed to kill, you do that and you are removed from society for good, so what's the point in spending money on them, so you look more meaning. It makes you look fearful and impish usually and unable to do nothing more than rely on something to defend yourself which only wimps can't do or kill someone. Which is tragic and unforgiveable on so many levels, How thick do you have to be to actually belief carrying a gun can be of benefit? Let's hope they become less and less here. It's just stupid copying they saw in some movie once. Violence is not part of the religion and Buddhism is far greater and more benefits to society than all the other religions which are a load of old tosh. It stands out much more in countires that do not condone Violence and opt for peace and abstention instead. It's a shame more is not done to reduce it. What are the chances. I don't know but not great. Thailand does not have anything like the histories that many European countries have which were so shaped by wars and fighting. Thai's are more respectful than most which makes such crimes harder to bear.
  11. Ah reassuring for me. I only came to Thailand because someone told me it's near the sea but haven't seen it yet. So this place Jomtien is near the sea is it. Just a short walk from Bangkok is it or will I need my bicycle. Are there any other places near the sea. Someone said there used to be but not anymore after he just got out of whatever that mental home he was staying was called. I bet there's more than 5 and they are all quite a walk.
  12. Everyone knows they've got small knows and no balls when it comes to making decisions. At least they are most probably looked down upon so it's really little more than a laughing matter than a major concern. Most people are crap in bed anyway, and in Thailand usually absolutely useless, especially Asains as feminism hasn't caught on here yet and men are usually not intelligent enough to consider women as equal and more deserved of respect than mates which you usually have a punch up with. They like to slap women becuase they know they can get away with it. But women are usually the better half in all countries owing to them being much smarter than men on the whole and less animalistic. The Chinese are backwards in many respects, it's not worth arguing or fighting over, it just means he's more likely to be less intelligent that's all, as the penis is what men usually think with not the brain as we all know. And so little if not nothing is worth fighting over anyway. The outcome should never matter becuase it should never happen. Communication will always outflank resorting to violence, that just represents a lack of control. Unfortunately so many have to learn the hard way and won't try to steer away from violence until they've had their head kicked in many, many times over. What is there worth fighting about on a beach anyway. Aren't you supposed to be eyeing up birds, getting hammered and make a tit of yourself at some point, if your British that is and also working class perhaps. Who think that's better than sitting down and reading something well written, and if necessary taking a poo in the sea instead a toilet is more satisfying..not that I ever did such a thing of course. I'm not Chinese.
  13. This can't be true. When I went to the hospital last month they said I was the first person in Thailand to become injured ever, everyone else fakes it to get ime off work and hope to get hammered at home everyday. He also said there's not even more than 50 people in the whole country and he should know as he was born when Rama 3 was on the throne. He didn't seem piised up so I took his word for it even though I could have sworn it was closer to 100 easily. Can't be more than 200, so perhaps he was right and I was the first but his judgement did seem a little suspect, he also said that after fracturing my foot I needed a head transplant straight off the bat. When he slid in the fortune that would set me off, I told him to go fornicate somewhere else and give him a kick up the arse. I regret this and don't advise it as I didn't expect to get glassed on my way out. And I promise I'm not a wind up merchant, er ti's the word of God.
  14. I suspect it's always been the case and always been the case that there are too many taxi drivers in Bangkok that need to be more sure that crime doesn't pay actually and those who live by the sword die by the sword.
  15. I thought they were more into getting pissed a lot, fidling about with ladyboys they seem strangely drawn towards oftentimes each day, doing drugs, rep9rting getting robbed, and flagging off sunni Muslims, and generally speaking just let go of themselves. Ot to mention making bombs and on one valentine's day lobbed a couple at a taxi which wouldn't stop for the Iranian geezer in question. I assume his latest attempt to woo some bird he pulled didn't pan out as he hoped. I suggest you refrain from making bombs and loving them about, Not only is taking the mickey big style, you'll have a hell of a job finding a cleaner if you leave them lying about the place as theyndon't do dusting down bombs usually .try something your friends will be more easily impressed by like making train model sets or trainspotting.
  16. Unnecessary Mai greeng jail and nothing more than a saddening consequence of inability to control your emotions. I hope he is dealt with accordingly, the driver recovers and this never happens again. He really ought to have realised by now that weapons are for wimps and those can't fight only. They only became popular becuase they reduced the chances of getting your head kicked in. They do empower people yes but only the weak. The fact that he was carrying one was unjustifiedand far from impressive. He could have taken up Mauy Thai instead and gained respect rather than having people think you must be a wimp. Violence doesn' belong in any society also especially those which are Buddhist. Sadly it will always be there.
  17. Is it such a good idea to promote and prioritise those despised globally more than any other nation. They are not particulated the most respected and valued of the tourists that come and seem to be by far the best at annoying locals by their lack of cleanliness, love of gobbing everywhere and gathering wherever they like, especially in front of entrances. They don't usually enjoy or appreciate Thailand either and are forbade from using their initiative. When I worked there my colleague the main reason the Chinese like to come to Thailand is becuase it is cheap. But as we know in the rest of the world you only utilitize that notion and justify booking your holiday with if you've already had at least 15 pints down the local boozer and may puke over your phone in the process before having another 15 the following day,as most of England does or used to I once thought. That may be of help though becuase as you know there are plans to ensure that all tourists and ex-pats working and residing in Thailand must spend all their money on alcohol. I read it in The Sunday Sport I think it was or maybe Viz.
  18. Could they not replace old buses with trams, hot air balloons and rollerskating for rent perhaps? Maybe skateboards too? Less pollution and more of a laugh.
  19. Yes but what are the chances of finding an area of Bangkok where the traffic is almost twice as fast as F1, if not thrice. Million to one shot I'd say. People will get confused and think the speed limits have suddenly been changed without warning to something below 300 an hour. I saw faster cars all the time, what's the point in paying money to watch much slower cars when none of the drivers have a map and just follow each other about. ( Vic and Reeves joke) Especially when theyare also probaly slower than my on my bicycle when I enter the city, or if not, definitely slower
  20. If they want to attract a more diverse group of tourists I suggest they create a visa for chess players as chess is currently booming here and it will help the great very many children who play chess nowadays improve as they will meet different and perhaps better opponents, especially if they are like myself. Some of us are also exceptionally handsome, like myself for example. So the lc9al girls will be pleased if they like brainy boyfriends. And I think they should make the visa valid for a good thirty years or more, as most might fancy settling down and taking a stab at it all in this neck of the woods. There are an estimated 500 million chess players globally, so it would be a boost for the economy as I guarantee a good 300 million will turn up to start of with, and then probably you'd get a good 20 million a year easily. And almost all chess players are gentlemen too. It's good all round even if you rubbish at it all the time. Thankfully there's only about 150 million of us like that or thereabouts. I should know, I've often been described as the meanest, baddest most brilliant absolutely rubbish chess player there has ever been. PM me if you want a signed photo or chess lessons. . I run a chess school to, it's up north and only 300 miles from the nearest road if you're interested, sincere apologies if I sound like a wind up merchant, The content is primarily informative and only occasionally creative/comedic. Sorry, it's my style sometimes.
  21. This is saddening there seems to be a rise in crimes committed by organised criminals who are notThai nationals. Although it may not be the first, I suspect the severity of the crimes committed is greater. The Chinese seem to be involved in a good deal of it, which damages the reputation of the country. It's not good for Thailand. Hopefully they'll all clear off soonish and get up to antics elsewhere.
  22. I think there's misreportage in play here, after many pints down the pub last night, I was told the waves wouldn't be 2-3 meters but more than 500 meters and hundreds of them too. He said that's good thing becuase last time they were over 10,00 meters high or so it looked from his apartment, just 30kms from the river in the one small and broken window he has. It could be true.
  23. Why do I suspect they will become very popular.
  24. I hope it doesn't happen. Perhaps he should think out of the box more and employ a doppelganger, much to his aid.
