I'm actually starting to think Rayner would be an improvement. Of course she is totally useless, but that's the point. Starmer is dangerous, whereas Rayner would be too busy raving in Ibiza to do any real damage to the country.

Democrats Reckon With Deeper Crisis Beyond Fundraising Woes
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The problem was Harris and her patronizing word salad, including putting on "black voice" when addressing black people. Not to mention all the lies about Biden's cognitive state, gaslighting the public and telling them not to believe what they were seeing, but what CNN was telling them. Shameful.- 49 replies

New Green Rules May Hike Rents by Thousands, Ministers Admit
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Yeah that's my plan. If Reform win, happy days. In the unlikely event that Labour win another term, I'll sell up and invest elsewhere. It will no longer be worth the hassle. -

Report Bangkok Cab Incident Sparks Debate on Passenger Rights
JonnyF replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Depends on the traffic. Heavy traffic - I'd side with the driver. No traffic - I'd side with her. You can't expect the driver to sit in traffic for an hour to save you 50 Baht. Likewise, he shouldn't expect her to pay extra for no reason if there is no traffic on the roads. For the sake of an easy journey and not having to listen to the driver say "Oooooeeeee Lod Thit maak maak" 200 times I normally go with the highway. -
Macron ‘slapped by wife as he Brushes Off “Nonsense”

Imagine if the roles were reversed and he, aged 39 and her teacher - had groomed her at 15 years old and then slapped her around in public. Lucky for Brigitte she is a woman (allegedly). -

That's because they know they are too many people and not enough houses. The next logical question would be... What is easier/quicker? Building hundreds of thousands of houses or getting control of immigration. I'll give you a clue - Trump already provided the answer within 100 days. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14660661/The-eye-popping-number-illegal-migrants-deported-Trump-100-days.html -

Eventually, yes. But if my bath is overflowing I turn off the tap before I start making the sides taller. Britain is full, hence the shortage of housing and subsequent sky high rental prices. Supply and demand. -

Controlling rents will only lead to landlords spending less on the property. A better way to control rents would be to reduce demand by reducing the number of immigrants coming in who need housing. -

That's always been the case. One of the reasons I bought my first place back in the 90's was that it was cheaper than renting. I can assure you being a landlord isn't the great gig it is made out to be. Finding decent tenants that pay rent on time and don't trash the place isn't easy. Plus the courts are so heavily stacked in the tenants favour that even if they do trash the place you have little/no chance of getting them to pay for it - as I found when one of my tenants moved in a large St. Bernard against the terms of the contract, which then proceeded to rip the radiators off the walls and jump through a second floor window, landing on the roof below. -

Improving their assets? 😃 Being forced to spend thousands on Miliband's Net Zero/doomsday cult fantasy hardly qualifies as improving the asset, especially if it means removing efficient forms of heating for "green" ones that don't heat the property properly. -

How would you know why the landlord increased the rent? And how would you stop it? Much as you hate it, it is still a free market. The Commies aren't controlling the rental market yet. Supply and Demand, The supply is limited and thanks to uncontrolled mass immigration the demand increases daily. -
Oh dear, I guess Keir Rodney Starmer won't be welcome then, having locked up multiple Brits for lengthy sentences for questioning his immigration policy on FaceBook. Who's he going to send in his place? Lammy? Rayner? I can't imagine Trump/Vance tolerating those fools for too long. Good to see The GOP standing up for freedom of speech. It's refreshing. We need someone to stand up to Labour's well established position on it, summed up beautifully by Idi Amin.

I know you wish the rape gang scandal would just disappear but it's very relevant to the issue of public safety, the topic of the thread. As for Tommy Robinson, he is going nowhere and along with the likes of Musk will continue to be a thorn in the side of the Granny freezer, Keir Rodney Starmer. Starmer is increasingly looking like a lame duck and continuing to release violent offenders early while locking up middle aged mothers for several years for rude posts on FaceBook is not helping his cause.
