Actually a former President was much more accommodating of closer economic ties. Biden has done almost nothing to develop a "rock solid" relationship with the UK, quite the opposite in fact for various reasons which I cannot go into. He can't even remember our PM's name and he forgot that our Queen is dead. Hardly the basis for a rock solid relationship with our country. Not to mention the disagreements over Ukraine. Biden has been terrible for UK-US relations.

Amsterdam is a wonderful city. Had some great times there on stag weekends, trips with girlfriends etc. The blend of canals, coffee shops, red light area, pubs, trams, bicycles, architecture is a wonderful mix. I hope they don't change it too much.

Biden has done nothing for the UK-US relationship. It's not only the Ukraine disagreements, but many other issues that I shall not mention even though it is recent and very relevant to the rock solidness (or not) of the UK-US relationship. Let's hope the relationship can strengthen quickly once Biden has gone. If he wants to "strengthen our co-operation, joint economic security to the benefit of our citizens" as mentioned in the OP then he could re-focus on a trade deal between the 2 countries, now that something I will not mention but is a key factor in making a trade deal that could help our joint economic security has been completed.
