The price war on EVs may harm interests of customers
Yes Bangkok is not Thailand but it's where the money is. If EV's are going to be big here they have to work out the issues of owning one in BKK. It could clear up a lot of the air pollution so i hope they can. I see a few here and there in BKK. Nobody at my office has one. Nobody in my condo has one (although in fairness it's only 48 units). And nobody in the area around my farm in Korat has one, mainly diesel pickup trucks there. I suspect for the reasons I have stated. The other reason might be that many of the affordable models are Chinese and they aren't fully trusted yet. Or maybe like me they dont like supporting Chinese state owned businesses like GWM.

Twitter temporarily restricts tweets users can see, Elon Musk announces
A good move from Musk. 1000 a day is plenty. If you reach that limit maybe its time to get some fresh air and some exercise.

The Beeb going into full damage limitation mode now. Fortunately they have a lot of experience dealing with these awkward situations. They know how to "fix it" (for you and you and you and.... bah bah bah bah bah bah) Now then now then.... https://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/bbc-bosses-issue-staff-stern-30476054

The price war on EVs may harm interests of customers
And therein lies the problem. So many commuters live in condos. In many condos you are lucky to find a parking space let alone a charging bay for an EV. Getting to work and back in BKK can take several hours already without worrying about charging an EV. Great for foreign retirees living in houses who only need to worry about a weekly 100 kms round trip to Makro. Not so great for the Thai workforce.

The price war on EVs may harm interests of customers
Like I said, they are fine for short trips if you don’t live in a condo. My e-bike is great for getting me to the MRT station and back but it’s a one trick pony, I won’t be selling the VTwin Ducati for weekend trips to the beach and back that’s for sure. I am considering an EV for my farm but the drawback is the range won’t get me to Bangkok and back (600 kms) on one charge and my condo in BKK has no charging facility. The idea of pulling into a rare charging station to find all the bays are in use with a queue of several hours fills me with dread. I will stick with the e-bike for now. At least I can carry the battery up to my apartment to charge it.

Trump criticizes end of White House cocaine probe
Could be anyone. A close aide. Another member of the family. Another member of the administration? Why would you assume I must be referring to Hunter? Is his reputation really that bad now that one mention of a coverup involving Cocaine and you automatically assume it must be him?

Evidence of what? I never said they were Hunter's drugs. It seems you have quite the imagination.

Trump criticizes end of White House cocaine probe
I'm afraid I do not have access to the White House's CCTV footage. Although given the apparent lack of security there I might just book myself a tour and grab it while I'm there. Just look away from the cameras for a second while I pick it up. They'll never catch me with so many visitors coming and going ????.

Hunter's drug use has been well documented. No need to imagine anything.

I am not doubting that cameras picked it up.

Trump criticizes end of White House cocaine probe
Nothing to see? How many people do you think turn their back to the camera and then approach this cubby hole? You think you can't identify someone because they turn their back to the camera for a couple of seconds? They'd be easily identified from the next CCTV camera they appeared on, or the same CCTV camera once they turn around again. Unless security is even worse than suspected, this bag of Coke would have been found quite quickly so the timeframe would be quite short. If they genuinely don't know who put it there it's a damning indictment on the security setup there. You think you could get into the Kremlin, dump a bag of Coke in a cubby hole and get out without ever being identified? It's incredibly embarrassing for the security team. Or maybe that dastardly Trump dangled from the ceiling and placed it there, ala Ethan Hunt? You know that's actually a decent point. I can't imagine Hunter hangs onto bags of Coke for too long before they enter an orifice.

Huw Edwards in hospital as he is named in BBC presenter row
I dont think anyone is baying for blood. We just want to see justice done. Being a high ranking BBC comrade should not make you above the law and it does appear he has broken laws (even though the police are clearly reluctant to act). Speak for yourself buddy. I'm here for the temples and the basket weaving.

Of course, certain people are excluded from visitor logs. I'm sure it's just an unfortunate coincidence though. Move along please...

Trump criticizes end of White House cocaine probe
The only thing I was hoping for was that they would find the culprit. The fact that they can't, in the White House of all places is genuinely astounding. Standards continue to slip under the Biden administration. The fish rots from the head.

Do you wish to offer a third option? The way I see it there are only the 2 possibilities that I mentioned. A cover-up or a screw-up. But let us all know if you have a third Earl, I always look forward to your intelligent, articulate input.

Anyone else have an irritable wife this morning after election result
My ex-gf is livid with the military this morning. I took the opportunity to remind her that she supported the coup in 2014 (she hates the redshirts) even though I told her at the time that it was a bad idea and it was better to let the Democratic process play out. That went down well...

Slow pace of Biden’s reelection campaign feeds Democrats’ 2024 anxiety
No surprise. Everything surrounding Joe is slow. His cadence, his stumbling gait, his thought process, his re-election campaign. Trump or Biden. What a choice. Sad times for US Politics.

Trump criticizes end of White House cocaine probe
He does have a point on this one. If someone can just walk into the White House, leave white powder lying around and leave completely undetected despite all the CCTV, visitor logs, forensics and security it does suggest either a cover-up or a breathtaking level of incompetence. Could be either.

Huw Edwards in hospital as he is named in BBC presenter row
Almost certainly a male if they are refusing to say. The similarities to the Schofield case are actually uncanny. How long before "unwise but not illegal" is trotted out? There certainly seems to have been an element of grooming/abuse of power/threatening electronic messaging here although it looks like The Met are doing everything they can to avoid bringing charges given the shared political outlook and somewhat cozy relationship they have with The BBC. My guess as to how this ends? The mental health card will expire in about 3 weeks, followed by a heartfelt interview by a sympathetic colleague, no police charges and he disappears from The BBC probably with a huge retirement package (funded by the British public). The Gravy Train must not be stopped. The BBC have a long history of dealing with this type of behaviour from it's employees (now then now then), they'll know how to "fix it".

Top BBC presenter ‘stripped to underwear in video call with teen he paid for explicit pictures’
It's not uncommon for victims of abuse to suffer Stockholm syndrome in cases like the alleged one with Edwards. Especially young ones. I'd say it's quite likely the victim still has some feelings for Edwards if the abuse did in fact take place. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/22387-stockholm-syndrome#:~:text=Stockholm syndrome is a coping, relationship abuse and sex trafficking. The family obviously don't have such issues to deal with and their position has remained the same. There is no such ambiguity on the accusations from his colleagues at the BBC. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12292635/Now-Huw-Edwards-faces-fresh-allegations-inappropriate-behaviour-BBC-colleagues.html

Why would a simple, one sentence declaration of innocence prejudice a libel action if you are indeed innocent? I think we both know why he hasn't said he's innocent.

Top BBC presenter ‘stripped to underwear in video call with teen he paid for explicit pictures’
You know what, that's a great point. Why hasn't Edwards himself denied it? He's had a week but nothing. You'd expect at least "I deny all the allegations against me and wish to make no further comment at this stage". But no. He lets his wife do it and even she doesn't take the opportunity to let the world know he is innocent. Fascinating.
