The policy has been in affect for years. The UN pressures the Philippine government to stop human trafficking.

Of course they are nutters similar to McCarthy era seeing communists everywhere. Everyone is being trafficked.

On top of that Philippine immigration likes to impose their Catholic morals on the public. Heaven forbid your GF

has ever been married. No divorce in the Philippines, just annulment. A long and expensive process. Best of luck

to everyone as they navigate the draconian immigration exit process. I personally know 5-6 people that have had

girlfriends stranded at the gate denied boarding. Not sure if it is not partly an airline scam. When tickets are

oversold they have immigration deny boarding. Seriously. No ticket refunds. At Clark I have seen as many as

20 girls in tears pleading with immigration to be allowed to board while the plane appears to be fully loaded

    when it departs.

All true ...very sad to see...I had to go to manila to get my lady thru the immigration interview...lucky for us after she see the pics of me with her family back in the village....she just asked me to fill out a statdec and give a copy of my passport and she was then allowed to fly out of the Philippines. ..without me being there it would never have happened..

The Phillip[ne government has had many problems with women were who left the Phillipines as 'girlfriends' of foreigners and then overstayed in the country they went to as workers and sex workers. in the past.

Therefore the Philipine  government is very strict about allowing women to leave the country with their 'boyfriends'.

This policy has been in effect for years.

I think the philippine government is worried about human traficing. .

  4. I am here in thailand with a philippine lady for 2 months holiday then I wanted to go to australia for a 2 month holiday...a visa agent in pattaya told me she needs to apply from philippines  ?

    Seems strange..

  5. Assuming you are talking about your intention to apply for an annual extension based on retirement at your local immigration in office, you can definitely apply as early as 30 days before the current permission to stay, but at SOME offices, as early as 45 days. You do not lose any time on your new annual extension by applying early, it is actually recommended to do so, as the new annual extension begins after the current permission to stay expires, not your application date.

thanks for that info.....I will do it tomorrow.
