Inguinal Hernia
I’m 74. I had that surgery at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya a year and a half ago. It about 150,000 baht for an open surgery which I took. It’ll be around 3 to 350,000 baht for a keyhole surgery. I stayed for two days because I was old. No heavy lifting for the first month and eat easy to digest foods. I ate soft foods and drank beer at night. I did everything by myself but I recommend you have a friend there in your room to help you. Buy a pee container for sleep time.

Maneerat.
There’s a major problem there. Because you can no longer use Bangkok Bank to renew your visa the other bank was overwhelmed. My friend yesterday said he was struggling to get his visa with the new bank for three days and it wasn’t resolved yet. It’s kind of chaotic.

Mailing a Letter to the USA
I went to Soi post office in Pattaya. Because of the Tariffs by the U.S. government Americans cannot send parcels or receive it from the U.S. They can send letters so they took mine but they said they needed my passport and it only be sent by registered mail. They charged me 355 baht and off I went.

Diverticulitis surgery in pattaya - 6 inches of colon removed
About 10 years ago I had a Diverticulitis attack and was told I needed to have surgery at Bangkok hospital to remove part of the colon. I went to I believe it was the red cross hospital in Sriracha and I spent two weeks getting antibiotics. They put me on a fit to fly list and when I was discharged I flew to Hawaii to meet with my doctors at Kaiser Hospital. They said my first Diverticulitis attack they educate not operate. They told me what to eat and what not to eat. They said if I come back with a second attack they will operate. I never had another attack. I flew back to Thailand and I eat right (easy to digest foods) and I’m careful not to strain if I have constipation.

Retirement visa using the monthly income
Make sure your transfers per month come in as FTT which shows as international transfers. If one of the months doesn’t show that then immigration will reject it.

Anyone gotten caught up in the USPS fiasco. How did you handle it?
I have a UPS box in Hawai’i. They ask for two pictures of Identification so I gave them my passport and Hawai’i State I.D. Filled out the Form 1583 which I had to print out sign and date and upload the picture of it. They know I live in Thailand but the last requirement was for me to give them my address in Hawai’i. I gave them the address that matched the address on my State I.D. and that satisfied them.

Talking to Thais, have you ever had "Pow Wow" moments?
If you just say อินเดียนแดง (Indian) it automatically means an Indian from India. But, If you say อินเดียนแดง (Red indian or Indian Daeng) it means American Indian. They know Red Indian means American Indian. You can put American at the end to be more specific.
