Phuket Zoo was reputed to be a disgrace over many years. To be honest as have no eyes on input as i refused to pay money to find out. I am grad its finished. Like the dolphin show next door. Singapore Zoo Park is the way to show animals as best as possible in nature.

Just to round this out we did at last get the hotel shuttle boat to the Escape hotel. A day was enough in a billed 5 star hotel. Disappointed. But i did spot a car ferry to Koh Ya Yai. Going try book that tomorrow/

Thanks for all the suggestions. Oh well no chance of an old style take away chippie/chipper. Last time was about 20 years ago a younger English man opened a place in Patong about opposite the big massage brothel place on Rat u Tit. He lasted about 3 years and then moved to Pattaya

My wife remarked today if I missed my home county. I thought and said only missed a good UK chip shop with many battered foods. Got me thinking that the few appeared here over my 26 years soon expired. Think 3 sprung up along 200 year road 20 years ago and one in Kata past the cross towards Club Med. All failed quicky. Last place I could get a battered sausage was Ting Tong on Nanai road made by some unreliable Thai ladies.
So my question is - any ideas, Yes I can get battered fish but never know what sort of fish. Go one time and get a nice meaty bit of fish, Same restaurant and get a thin inedible fish.
Really want battered burger or red sausage.
Thanks all

Wife says I can take car to coconut island. I doubt it and I can see no info on Google. Now I have seen a car ramp at Rassada Pier last time I took ferry to Phi Phi. No Google info on that. So .... any first hand experience. Thank you.

Follow up. Looked underneath. Not so bad, just light surface rust. But since we plan keep car forever we though worth spending the 4,500 baht on Zeibart treatment. Booked car in for this morning at P2 car wash, 50m past exit from Phuket City Merlin. They did good job clean off and rust with wire brush and air tools. Mask off all upper car and wheels. Full under body spray a foul looking chemical. I expected a black look but it's a bronze look. Car now in for full wash and valet in the price. Fully recommend these people.
First time I have seen the spare wheel since we bought the car. No air pressure and best we buy a new one.

My friendly local repair/paint shop (don't know if they do Ziebart treatment) is Hok Liam garage. They have a hoist - so I may do the same!:
They're located on the NE corner of the traffic lights, 1km north of the circle on the "Bypass Road" - i.e. about 800m north of Villa Market in "Market Village" shopping centre.
That's really a full paint shop. They did a great full body repair spray on my 18 year old 2 seater soft top 15 months ago.
Guy take car my old car is south circle opposite new Shell station. Main dealer no idea with old sports car.

Underbody and chassis rust treatment on a 17 year-old vehicle by the sea? That's going to be something very specialized. Good luck.
No. No salt on roads here. Not have rust yet. Just the factory paint is almost done says dealer mech. Wife take car in Isuzu so I did not see. Have a quick look myself in morning.

Treatment I am looking for is Ziebart. Looks like I need to go the agent in Phuket Town. Although think I'll find a hoist at our friendly repair shop and have a look myself and see if Isuzu mech is giving sound advice or just makin the 500 baht commission from Ziebart agent. Wife wormed that info out of agent.

This place could do it, I've had some small paintwork done there in the past. Off Palai in Chalong.
Thanks pag, know the place. Have another car booked in for body repair via insurance co. But owners down with covid this week. But really looking for specialist treatment.

Car in for regular dealer service. Mech says underside showing sign of rust. Well it is 17 years old. Place in Phuket town can spray but wonder if anywhere nearer Kata home. Thanks

Thanks for information and was trying to find out and I suppose can go in the Kanchanaburi DLT and my current 5 year Thai license runs out 22nd May 2022 and yes realise I will have to have my yellow book, my pink Id card my current licence and the Doctors certificate.
Anything else and thought one can just go to the offices from the start of 2022 and wondering how long one has to wait for an appointment and is there a period of grace but in the meantime if stopped by the police it could be difficult.
I think there is a website but yes could go in to Kanchanaburi DLT to find out further.
Re: The Doctors certificate is there a standard one or can an ordinary doctors not sufficient.
Thanks all
Thanks allI did not need not need medical certificate.

Finally got my long awaited renewal date. In early at 08.40. Out with new license 09.10. Car only 505 baht. Excellent service.
On my way out I witnessed a foreigner shouting at reception staff that he had to wait 30 days for a date. I waited 75 days, What a rude fellow.

Oh, didn't know that, mainly because I was there exactly 2 weeks ago to do my 90 day report and the queue was from the front entrance, round the side and past the Motorbike Parking almost to the beach??
I did ask and they were queueing for extensions, and I think I was only one of two guys getting my 90 day report in amongst the mass!!
the 90 day online was working to me a couple of week ago

I don't get along Nanai Rd these days so I was surprised/pleased to see the Offshore Bar resurrected next door to Ting Tongs bar, I wish them well. That little area of Nanai seems have developed to a bar area.

Can rent motorbike in Phuket and go to other province?
in Phuket

No inter province vehicle reg issue. It's owner rental agreement issue. Police don't care. But no drive license will be an issue. Fine every day caught,
