  1. Fortunately Chiang Rai isn't a popular destination for sex tourists and it would be nice if it stayed that way. The more sex tourists that come here will increase the amount of sex workers and it will then, slowly but surely, become like many other sleaZy places that can be found in Thailand. Why can't he come here and enjoy Chiang Rai as it is without having to pay for a girls company while he's here?

When did I say he was a sex tourist? Like many single people in the world, seeking company of the opposite sex is still considered normal behaviour, I think you guys are a little paranoid not to mention unrealistic. If you want to stay at home in quiet Chiang Rai, go ahead. I think I'll join my friend there and see what we can see, Cheers. :)

  2. Please do not visit Chiang Rai if that is what your friend wants. He can get that sort of "entertainment" else where. Chiang Rai is a nice town - not a sleasy town.

If you could recommend a nice Christian church, that would be fine too. :) You do live in Chiang Rai, right?

    BTW ~ Sleazy

  3. A friend of mine is heading to Chiang Rai next week for a few days and was wondering about the places to head for entertainment of the female variety, also places to avoid if any. I've been there myself a couple of times and it seemed a bit on the quiet side. Any recommendations for a single man heading to you town?

  4. had some consultants out from scotland to support a job 10 years back.............. poor thai's could not understand a word he said.

Nee Bother ! (ended up not paying the bill from UK head office who assured me they spoke clear english before coming out )

There are plenty of people from parts of England with hard-to-understand accents. There are people from parts of the US with similarly difficult accents.

I would prefer my child to be taught by an irishman than an american. Just look at how the americans have changed the english language and the spelling. There is American english and there is english. I want my child to learn english not american

English Irish American all nationalities are capitalized :)

  5. I'd say it would be a lot easier if adopt him and move to the States, I'm a naturalized US citizen and have a daughter born here in Thailand. The powers that be make almost impossible for me to get citizenship for her as I live here now. I don't have recent evidence of a life in the US such as tax returns etc.

So in light of this I would say you'd have an uphill battle to say the least, but it's worth a try, good luck.

  6. I need to send the UK Inland Revenue about 125,000 bht. in order to bring my pension contributions up to date, but I don't have a British bank account. They state that the money transferred must be the exact amount and in sterling. So I need to transfer the cash from my Thai bank account somehow. Any of you had experience with this kind of transfer? And what is the best and most economical way to proceed? Thanks in advance. :)
