  1. I'm trying to send a link from thaivisa.com to a friend. I right click on the link and then click "send link" which then opens up my yahoo email, but the link is then shown in my "To" box, starting with "mailto". I've tried copying and pasting it into the main body of my email and then deleting it from my "To" box, but it doesn't work.

    Anybody got any suggestions?

    Thanks.

  2. Suggest people look if using Malwarebytes, as this program blocks links to trackers and also to websites such as 1337x.org.

I downloaded Malwarebytes a couple of days ago on the recommendation of a moderator of thebox.bz, now you've got me wondering whether I should remove it.

  3. Thanks everybody. I didn't realise you could run more than one torrent client, so I'm going to download vuze and put my next torrent into that and see if it works better for me than utorrent.

    W.

It might work better it might not, it is a question of how many seeders it has, why not download the same torrent into Vuze and check it that way. This way you will see if it is better or not. And you can download the same torrent into two different clients.

Did what you suggested beano, but it was no better. I'll probably just stick with utorrent now.

  4. Hi

I know quite a few of you download torrents from thebox.bz and uknova.com and wonder if anyone has the same problem as me. I download into utorrents but it takes approximately 1 hour for the torrents to start to download and then some of them stop for a while (a couple of hours) and then start again.

Would appreciate any help/advice from you computer geeks out there:rolleyes:.

    Thanks,

    W.

  5. In the market on South Rd you can get rolls of it.

Homeworks has strips and pads and is much more expensive.

Thanks PattayaParent, if Foodland are out of stock I know where else I can get it.

  6. Hi

My IP is Triple T and I am based in Pattaya. I know there is a problem now downloading torrents but up to about 4 days ago I didn't have a problem but each day it has gone worse and worse. I started to download two torrents about 6 o'clock this morning and one has downloaded 35% and the other 9%.

Is anybody managing to download torrents OK or are you all having problems?

    Hi

I had uTorrent 1.7.7 which I have removed and I have downloaded the 1.8.2 version. I click on the torrent I want to download and get to "do you want to open or save etc.etc.". When I click "open" nothing happens and it's not opening into uTorrent to download.

Does anybody know what the problem is?

    Thanks.

It sounds as though your OS is not associating .torrent files with the uTorrent application? Perhaps as a result of the de-install?

    Re-boot your PC.

Make sure you have your "Directories" set up in uTorrent.

Finally just find a recently downloaded .torrent file (where you have downloaded files set to go now) then drag and drop it into the uTorrent window. The torrent should start. Sometimes the "Start Torrent" window is hidden behind other windows, so make sure you see that and click "OK".

I missed the OP's follow on post. Not sure what's happeing now? Try SAVING the .torrent file to your PC, then try opening it in uTorrent (Add New Torrent or drag and drop).

Or maybe do a full de-install (use Revo Uninstaller and do a complete, advanced removal), re-boot, then install the version of uTorrent best suited for thebox. You can always find older versions just by Googling for them.

This did the trick, thanks a lot, lomatopo.

  8. An alternative to utorrent would be Tixati which works well and seems to be easier to use.

one would be hard pressed to call the use of utorrent rocket science. it also has not been accepted by most private trackers

Neither has the latest version of U Torrent.

Using it with The Box can get you banned.

    The Box

Yes, that's why I'm sticking with utorrent because I want to download from The Box. I've checked in all programmes and I've got utorrent 1.8.2 installed. When I find a torrent I want to download from The Box, I click on that torrent which then brings me to "Do you want to save or open this file". When I click on "open" it should take me to a utorrent window where I click OK and it goes into utorrent to download, but unfortunately when I click on "open" it does nothing!

  9. I have downloaded the 1.8.2 version.

    Have you installed it too?

    Hi

I thought it was automatically installed with the download. Maybe not. How do I install it?

    Thanks

    W.

When you click save it will go to whatever folder you have saved it to. open that folder, open the file and it should be in utorrent ready to start downloading.

This is the problem though, because when I click save nothing happens.

  11. I have D-Link DSL2640T and it is listed on portforward.com. I have got as far as opening the virtual server on the modem but something always seems to go wrong at the end and I never get to open the port.

    OK, there's a problem with that router/modem.

It does not save when you press apply.

    1. Set up the virtual server as in www.portforward.com.

    2. Go to the tools tab.

    3. Select system on the left side.

    4. Now you will find a button "Save and reebot".

ohh, sorry I don't live in Pattaya but maybe my advice can be useful.

    Hi PoorSucker

Thanks for letting me know about the problem with the router. Have just tried your suggestion but still haven't managed to open the port. In the virtual server do I go as far as the time to press "apply", but ignore that and then go to the toolsbar? I really need someone here who knows what they're doing. Pity you're not in Pattaya!

  12. What kind of ADSL modem do you have, and is it listed on portforward.com?

It should be as simple as to open a virtual server on your modem and match that port to the settings in utorrent.

I have D-Link DSL2640T and it is listed on portforward.com. I have got as far as opening the virtual server on the modem but something always seems to go wrong at the end and I never get to open the port.

  13. Hi

I've been downloading torrents (using uTorrents) for quite some time now and never had a problem even thought the red icon kept telling me to open up a port. Anyway, the other day I decided to give it a try through portforward.com. I tried a few times but didn't succeed in opening a port, and now the red icon has turned yellow and I have no incoming connection whatsoever. Until I get the problem sorted I am unable to download any more torrents because my ratio will go down.

I'm looking for someone who would be willing to come over to my house and open up the port for me. If anyone can help please PM me and we can make arrangements from there.

    Fingers crossed somebody can help.:jap:

    Thanks.

    W.
