Have just found out our yellow bank book (Ayudhya) is missing - and nearly 200,000 thb has been taken out of our account. We last saw it on Friday. Being Sunday we are having a bit of a nightmare getting hold of the bank untill our branch opens in an hour.
Can someone else take money out from your own branch without I.D and just the book?
Because we have only just noticed - what chance do we stand of getting our money back?
This isnt case of a rogue family member, and please hold back on criticism for losing the bank book. I just really want to know if we can get the money back.
In despair
Choppy
You say OUR bank book, does this mean that it was a joint account? If so, then surely both of you would have to sign to withdraw.

But don't forget, they've all got one that's different!
And you ?
They're all the same to me

Aw c'mon. We get it, we do. Fact is there are a few old geezers on here who'd rather pay for company than be lonely. Can't do that in their home countries, I mean, how much does a western prostitute cost an hour? And western whores don't live in and do the shopping/washing up, do they? And you like the pretence of being in a mutually caring loving relationship with someone half your age. Although usually your Honey would prefer you just dump the money into her bank account and sod off
Also there's the feed the ego thing. I mean, a western prostitute wouldn't do that. Not for more than the hour you'd paid her. But, what with the total lack of understanding between the cultures of the farang male and asian woman, why, she'd tell you you were the mostest handsomest sonofabitch ever walked down soi cowboy with that big smile on her face and fleece you rotten. But you don't care. You have your Honey.
Which always makes me wonder why you all feel the need to come on to an internet forum and seek reassurance from total strangers.
But don't forget, they've all got one that's different!

Innocent fun, what a joke. What ever next
She ran away from the police, they had to chase after her and then she was abusive to them. Is this "innocent fun"?. She is an extremely stupid woman and now has to face the consequences.

It's no surprise that the Thais think us farang are stupid mugs. Is it not clear enough to some of you that your wives are only with you for your money? Try giving her 4000 per month and make her lazy brother start giving money to the parents for a change. Then we'll see how long she stays with you. Some Thai women respect their husbands and would be with them no matter what, but most of you guys on here don't have good wives. WAKE UP AND TEST THEM OUT.
Well said!

My wife gets around double that amount. She pays some household expenses, but not all, as she carries supp credit cards for the larger household exps. She would also transfer some of this money into her mother's bank a/c each month. The understanding is that I shouldn't be called on to financially assist any relatives...if she wants to give some money to her mum, sister, or niece...she does it from her monthly allowance. She would also be saving a small amount each month so that her month-end bank balance looks reasonable (i.e., she doesn't spend everything), and in that way her bank account conduct may look more or less satisfactory in the event that we apply for bank loans.
Honestly...
Surely most of these posts are trolls, guys can't be that stupid can they?
Can they?
Here in Thailand, YES.

Bangkok Post writes today:
"MPs approve big increase in tobacco tax
The cost local cigarettes will rise by up to 30 per cent a pack following the House of Representatives' approval of a major increase in the excise tax on tobacco products on Monday."
http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/local/1436...-up-30-tax-hike
I don't get it. Does it mean, the price increases once more?
That's what I'd like to know, also. I paid an extra 10 baht at my local supermarket over the weekend so does it mean they have gone up again today?

Any good Salsa clubs around here? I was not aware of any and would really enjoy that.
I heard there was one on Soi Photisarn. This was a while back so not sure if it's still there.

Some posters seem to be taking this very lightly and even finding it amusing. Jingthing could have been beaten to a pulp or even worse. This is a warning from Jingthing, take note!
Glad to hear you are OK Jingthing, this will only make you more wary than you were before. Good luck.

Having flown twice with Etihad Pearl Business Class I have used the facility of their Courtesy Car Service, however I have just been browsing their website and can't find anything at all about this service.
I am just about to book another Business Class flight, but will not go ahead if this service is not provided. I have sent an email to Etihad, but going off their past administration performance they will not reply to me.
Does anyone know if this service has been discontinued?
Thanks.

I have flown 6 times Bangkok to Dublin (Ireland), cattle class and am more than happy with the service/price/entertainment system/alcohol etc.. I have been upgraded twice (join on line their rewards programme) cos the plane was overbooked in economy (Dublin to Abu Dhabi). However I really believe that the only test for an airline is how they deal with a valid compliant. I have yet to make a compliant to Ethihad. I no longer fly Thai or Malaysian Airlines cos of their response to valid complaints in the past (Business Class Thai airways and I had to change seats 3 times in the same flight)
The only negative is the stop-over -- U will either enjoy the 90 minutes to stretch ur legs or u wont – Be careful when buying duty free at the departing airport cos of the liquid rules. Because u are transiting via Abu Dhabi, this will affect you.
The airport is appalling, nothing to be recommended, no where to enjoy a 'relaxing' reasonably priced coffee, but free internet (about 10 machines) at a very, very slow speed
As I've said before I can't praise the flight crew highly enough, but the administration side is hopeless and they just ignore any communication (complaints). At least that is how I've found them to be - perhaps other people have had more success.

She must have been in such despair. So very sad.

Whilst I love flying with Etihad, their adminstration side does seem to let the side down, so you could have problems here.
I see perseverance pills may be required.
And lots of them!!!

I've travelled twice with Etihad in Pearl Business Class and cannot praise them highly enough. Can't speak for Economy, but I'm sure it's excellent as well.

I upgraded to 8.5 a couple of days ago.

Hi
I have AVG Anti-Virus installed and this morning it did not do an automatic scan of my computer. I clicked on to investigate and it says "there are no active components". Can anybody tel me what this means, and also how I can sort it out?
Thanks a lot.

Do you resemble Mr.Bean at all? If so, then I think this is the only reason they call you Mr.Bean. However, if you don't look like him I think they are being offensive. I see on an earlier thread that you are married - why don't you ask your wife to find out for you.

You seem to have everything there. There's another form you have to fill in which you pick up at the Driving Licence place.
