I wonder what Mr Ryan's fine would be if he had survived a crash with a Thai car or scooter driver?

So, I have what is considered a good educated wife, with a nice job with a very decent salary from international company.
She owns a house and has significant savings.
Yet..... (unless it's for work) she dresses like a gypsy, still eats her 50 baht street food and eats on the floor.
I don't get it.
Thai culture there 500 years behind us, or you could say, you could take the girl out of Thailand but u cant take Thailand out of the girl.

A Belgian man who lived in Thailand for ten years has said that the country's "harsher overstay rules" led him to attempt suicide.

female beauty tends to peak between late teens and early 20s. By 30, most women are wholly unattractive
i think your having a bit of a joke with that statement unless you truly believe that. lucky your in Asia and you can pay for a young girls.
personally i wouldn't want a girl around me in her late teens or early 20s for more than an hour.

I bought my tickets at 7-11 last year, got a good discount on the weekend but I definitely didn't get the World Superbikes thrown in for free.
They did throw in the winter testing for free though.
when you bought your tickets from 7/11 did you just go in and ask over the counter and they sold them to you ?

Assuming you are in Thailand catman20, get them from "allticket" exactly where Coota linked.
Not available as yet, but coming soon. If its the same as last year, you will also get World Super Bikes included.
Tickets issued by 7/11 last year attracted a good discount as well. From memory, I am pretty sure I paid 2140 Baht for the main grandstand.
last year i paid two time that for the marquez stand.????

That's only about 1 decent Thai salary. Almost all of us spend at least 4 or 5 Thai salaries into the economy a month - which is still considered "not enough" by the authorities.
You have it exactly backwards. They want MORE people using agents. This change will ensure that. They don't "check seasoning" for agent-applications, so it doesn't matter how long the seasoning is - except to the extent it lowers competition from alternate-lenders who don't pay off immigration, like the agents do.
Many did meet them, and still do (the original requirements). They have moved the goalposts. That's the problem
If they could not afford to be here, they would not be here, since there are no handouts for them here.
Which criteria - those in place when they "Retired" here, or the moved goalposts since?
Which set? The ones a week ago, the month before, or whatever they make up tomorrow?
Now they are requiring you leave it in during the "consideration" period afterwords - 1 or 2 months more - depending on how they feel about doing it that week (some offices, including Chang Wattana).
It's just another "seasoning" requirement which can ignored the same as the existing seasoning requirement.
Unless they are going to arrest the crooked IOs who work with agents, none of this makes any difference to those using agents.
Got it backwards. All this does is increase the "seasoning" which agent-applications don't have to show - ever.
No, they go to agents and get the red-carpet treatment.
Agents file the 90-day reports for the scumbags - part of the package-deal. No TM-30s needed for agent-apps either, so they could be anywhere.
If they could not afford to be here, they would not be here, since there are no handouts for them here.
OK if you want to split hairs, it would seem that maybe at one stage they could afford to be here, now things are becoming more difficult and you need more money and the goal posts are moving, they cant afford to be retired here.

As usual, Thailand appears to be rowing against the tide.
Thailand is just like the Thai people, they just dont care.
all you people who keep winning about all this, seems to me, you either cant afford to be retired here or just want something to moan about.
if you can afford it and meet all the criteria i really dont see any problems.

I hear about people being told by IO that they must show evidence that they spend money.
doing all their regular transactions through other accounts-yes that works
not a problem been doing it like this for years.

It will get rid of some of us non-poorer people as well. Just because we will be leaving does not mean we cannot afford to stay. It just means that we have reached our limits for dealing with poor policies by the IO.
David
if you meet the criteria i cant see why it should be such a problem.
