I like the idea, good to recycle!

However, getting paid to pick up rubble?

People will chose just to dump it somewhere on the side of the road for free(Illegally)

On the other hand, start really small and give it a go,as long as you don't invest too much.

Nothing to invest. We got a truck and bins already. Been making statues today from some friends rubble. Should turn out nice.

    Great idea

Of course it depends which area your operating

Have to be in a medium type town like buriam or Koratb

But please ...give it a go....but plan...but if you don't do it ....why

I live a half hour outside Chiang Mai. Just have to find a way to advertise. Thanks.

  3. High season is done with and so is most of my wifes employment until next season. She is getting bored, likes to make her own money and wants something to fill in the time till then. I thought this might work, but on a very small scale. I have a large property and do endless landscaping and gardening on it. As a hobby, I make my own large bricks and stepping stones from construction debris. Broken concrete, cinder blocks (it-dang), tiles, slate, roofing shingles, pottery etc..... Anything I can use to make bricks. I am also starting to make large pathways around the property using concrete fence posting laid out on the ground and filling it with broken down concrete and adding color. I Know from personal experience that when we have work done around our place by local workers, they end up leaving  leftover materials and debris around as they have no way of taking it with them and dumping it. My neighbors had this problem, but I took and used it all already. And I am not aware of any companies doing this on a small scale. Only large construction removal. My idea is this. If someone needs debris removed, my wife, for a price, can use her truck to take it away, bring it home and I break it down into small rubble, which is easy to do and and I get my projects made without having to pay for aggregate. It's a win-win as I see it. People get their debris taken away, the wife makes some money and isn't bored and I have my aggregate for my projects. If anyone has any advice, opinions or criticisms, please, by all means, sound off. It's just a large pick up truck with a plastic bed in back. I was thinking of using those black garden pools you see at garden centers to hold the debris, so as not to damage the bed.

    What's the latest?

She passed last week after 23 days without wanting to eat and 8 days no water. My vet friend in the states says he never heard of a dog lasting that long. I stayed with her at the end. I cried each night saying goodby as I though she would go before morning and then when she went, I had no tears left. My other dogs still try each day to dig her out under the grave stone. The other day, I watched my Lab carry a leaf over to the grave and drop it on it.She just sat there staring for a minute, then left. Shook my head in Wonder. We took in one last dog this week and have shut down our pet rescue project due to insensitivity of the vets here.

Since your dog is having difficulties keeping food down, if you decide the Benadryl (diphenhydramine )

It would have to be in liquid form.or the sezolvable ones.  I think it can be dissolved in water if the dog will not keep it in his mouth long enough to be dissolved.

Good. That's how I gave her her other pills. I have a syringe for that purpose.

I have a lot of animals.  I've lost 4 of them in the last 6 months.  It's not pleasant to watch any animal's suffering.

    However.............

Your dog is dying and on one hand you are going out of your way to try to keep it alive (force feeding, IVs) then on the other hand you wish to euthanize your dog?  If you want you dog to stop suffering, then stop tying to keep it alive.  Put out food and water, but allow the dog to choose to eat and drink, or not.  Keep the dog as comfortable as you can, but I'd give up on those twice daily baths.  Its better to just allow your dog to be, offer up kind words and pats, and allow her to pass on.

Here's the honest question.  Do you wish to euthanize your dog to alleviate its suffering, or your suffering?
    Think about that.

We stopped the medicine after the first day. We do leave the water out near her and pass some food under her nose to see if she will take it. Always no. And Iv'e cooked up all her favorites. It is also to alleviate more of her suffering than mine.

I keep a stash of valiums, or whatever, JIC.  Figure I'd just give her more than enough to put her to sleep, if not enough, simple restrict her breathing until she passed.

    So wouldn't feel a thing.

Strangely, losing my dogs (2) hit me harder than any family or friend passing.  Only thing worse would be a child, thankfully blessed without that emotional roller coaster.

I am also considering the pills and bag option. Thank you.

As a dog lover and owner of 6 rescue dogs I feel for you,

I have heard that Benadryl is a humane . and pain free method to put a dog into a sleep that he/she will not wake up from .

Google "How to Euthanize a Dog at Home with Benadryl"  or look in YouTube for videos in the subject.

Thank you. I will look into the Benadryl option as well. 2 weeks no food now,

I was faced with the same situation about 5 years ago. Blood pathogen that completely weakened my beloved German Shepard. Filled a fifty gallon barrel with water, and after giving it a final hug... The fortunate thing was the dog was in such a weakened condition, it stopped struggling in less than 20 seconds. I believe I did the right thing, but euthanizing a pet yourself is a traumatizing event that sticks with you for a long time. The burial pit was pre dug. You need to figure out how you are going to dispose of the remains beforehand. Access to sleeping pills or helium gas was not an option at the time, and this was the most humane way I could come up with to put the dog out of its misery.

Thanks for the advice. Sorry to hear about you and your dog. I can't imagine. We have many dogs, all rescues, I will have to give it a go with Helium. I'll look it up. I will have to do this to many dogs in life unfortunately.

  10. As per posts from someone else last week, I too now am in a situation, where I must euthanize my own dog at home. She will not eat. Been 10 days. Now won't drink much, I have tried spoon feeding her and and forcing my large hand down her throat to get something down there, but it just comes back up. I have been to 3 different clinics and hospitals all coming back with the same negative blood tests. I have gotten bags of pills from them and IV's done. She cannot walk due to hip problems. Large dog 13 years old. Pee's while sleeping, so have to bathe her twice a day because of flies( I try to keep her under a mosquito net). I have to dissolve the pills in water to inject down her throat with a plastic syringe. Now they want me to come in everyday for an IV to keep her alive. To prolong her suffering I'm guessing. She tries to crawl away from me anytime I come close to her because she knows what I have to give her and to bathe her. The clinics it seems just want your money and  try to keep you coming back for more tests. She's 13 for godsake, how many years do they think she has left? Sorry if I sound angry, but I am. She is very sressed out. Please don't suggest the clinic across from The Dukes in Hangdong, Chiang mai land or Samoeng road intersection or any other. I'm done with them. No vet will euthanize her without more blood tests, pills, IVs' and suffering. I just want to know the best way to do it myself. I have had to do it to smaller dogs, but not a large one. Sorry, have no friends with guns. Again, don't bother with more clinic recommendations.

    Thank you.

Mine is getting so much worse, haven't been able to wear a pair of shoes for at least 5 years. Did anyone have surgery to shave off the bone growth allowing you to walk without pain and wear shoes again?

How much was it? Where did you have the operation? How long was the recovery?

     Please share your experiences. TIA

Hi Sunny. Did you ever find any relief for your toe joint? I just went for my second round of cortisone shots today, because the pain came back. I am looking into Cheilectomy surgery here, but I cannot find anyone here that does it.

When you do return to CM, and if you find the photo you mention, I am sure that posting it here would be most appreciated, as well as being informative to others who are in the same quandary.

Hey G.G, back in Chiang Mai now and here are a couple photos of the Singapore Daiseys. I have many more and I thought I had them on my external hard drive here, but it seems they are either lost or on my laptop in the states. Anyway this will give you an idea what they look like. If you let them grow and just trim them from time to time they will cover a lot of area. The second photo was when I came back after 6 months in the U.S. The better ones arte after I made an overhead tressal tunnel down these pavers to the outdoor garders facilities. Very nice looking and not a lot of work. I did start pulling them out when they got too much in some areas, but that was no problem. They don't just grow from nothing like most weeds. These you have to plant or seed. Hope this helps.

Savannekhet, Laos, if you are married.

Can go alone, no financials needed, printouts of wife's ID, house book, your passport main page. Application form with 2 photos.

Most important, original marriage certificates and copies of, take an updated Kor Ror 2 to be safe, hand over 5000bht...

It opens at 8.30 or 9am, closes sharp at 11am, you collect PP between 2pm-4pm the next day, to avoid looong queues, go Tuesday or Wednesday.

So, it's a lot easier than doing it in Thailand? No maps to your house, no visits from immigration, no photos of you standing in front of or inside your house, no interviews with the neighbors? No under consideration? Good to know. I'm applying for another one next month and we are vacationing in Luang Prabang.

If entering visa exempt, the fact that you have a new passport is irrelevant. Immigration, on entry, has access to your full immigration history. Thus, we cannot pass an opinion on whether you risk being denied a visa exemption without knowing your previous history, especially on tourist visas and visa exemptions.

Thank you. on my last visit I went in on a visa exempt and switched to a 1 year visa based on marriage. I was hoping to do that again. I 'm hoping they don't need copies of my last visit, since they will not be on the new passport.

The normal procedure - at least when you do it in person (don't know how it works when you do it by mail) - is that on delivery of your new passport that they invalidate your old passport by clipping a corner of the passport.

That way the invalidated passport cannot be used any more for entering another country BUT the stamps inside that old old passport can still be used when required.

In my case I applied last month for a new passport in my home-country, and I kept my old passport of which they clipped a corner on delivery of the new passport.

My old - now invalidated - passport contains the Re-Entry Permit on which I left Thailand, and I showed that both my new passport as well as my old passport with Re-Entry Permit to Thai border immigration on re-entering Thailand and was stamped in for the Re-Entry Permit protected Permission to stay in my new Passport.

When I visit my Thai Imm Office next time they will require me to show that old passport to do the essential stamp-transfers to my new passport.

Even after that is done I will not discard that old passport, in case Immigration at a later moment would require evidence of my Visa history status (like they are now requesting from you).

Hope you can still recover some how your old passport.

They still won't pick up the phone at the L.A. consulate or answer my email. I'm going to have to go on a visa exempt and apply for a 1 year based on marriage one. Tried calling passport services with no luck as well.

  16. Hello. once again, I am have problems with my e visa application. (Multiple entry based on marriage) I have 2 main issues. On the first page of the application you need to fill in your name. Easy. But each time I login to work on it, a different name is now in the space my name used to be. I'll work on the next page. Go back to check the first page again and yet again, a new name. I can't submit the application unless my name is there. The second issue is, they want to see the pages of my last trips to Thailand for the past year. I just got a new passport. I had to hand in my old one to get it renewed. How is this going to work? Thanks again for your advice.
