  1. The problem you may have is that Mae Sot will not let you leave the country to get a visa exempt entry according to a recent report. If you are close to the crossing you could try.

Just returned from the border crossing at Mae Sot and this is correct. I showed the official my extension of stay entry to 30th May and asked if I could go across for one day and get a 30 day visa exempt stamp on my return. He was unequivocal that I could not and repeated that I needed a visa or I couldn't leave. It all seems a bit strange but there you go. No alternative now but to go to Vientiane. Haven't got much time now as there are no buses or trains to Nong Khai from here so it's a flight to Bangkok then another flight to Vientiane. Will start genning up on the process now.

I was in Mae Sot last month and same happened to me too. No visa -> no in-out borderrun. Went to Nong Khai and had no problem to get 15 day stamp

  2. Yesterday I went to Mae Sot (yes, Mae Sot, not Mae Sai) to cross border and come back for 15 days stamp. I was denied exit by thai immigration officers. There are big signs which says, In - Out visarun not possible. Only if You have good reason. Well, I was not expecting that at all so I did not have good story to tell -> I was denied exit. They were strict that I have been in thailand "one visa 2 time and 2 extensions, No visarun, No in - out" This was going to be my first exemtion entry but no way.

Yes, I have many visas and extensions in my passport but they don't even looked them, just this last double entry TR with two extensions. 2 different people pointed just these out, nothing more.

After that 2 minute talk, I took my bag, bought bus ticket to Khon Kaen and then to Nong Khai. Went Vientiane, took shower in one guesthouse, there was beer lao too. Afternoon bus back to Khon Kaen and the officer at Nong Khai immigration just stamped me in with 2week stamp. That's it. He didn't say a word.

  3. Has already been mentioned on other similar topics, Mobile Phones sold for the Thailand market are not LOCKED (ie: locked to a specific Carrier/Operator)

    .

Are You sure about that? I heard true phones are locked to true sim. And this website shows on truephones "green light" just for true

    http://specphone.com/True-Smart-4.0.html

If You look AIS Lava phone, green all operator in 2100 range

  4. I just did *103*369*9# 107 baht for 15 days. Got confirmation free calls 5Am to 5PM but nothing regarding internet. But I guess yes it has Internet.

Where do all these codes come from?

I cannot find any reference on DTAC web site (http://www.dtac.co.th/en/prepaid/products/Happy-internet-package.html) to the 15 day for example, so is the complete list of available options (inclusive internet speeds/limitations/reduced speeds) available somewhere online?

    Appreciate any leads thanks.

You can find these on thaiforums. Some codes maybe old and not working anymore.

  5. I checked and in Estonia we have triple tourist visa for 180 days. I'm guessing they didn't count the extensions.

So if I don't get triple or double or they run out, I can just get a new tourist visa from Laos or Malaysia depending on which side of Thailand I'm in?

By "onward ticket for next visa run" you mean a ticket that shows Thai customs officials that I'm actually planning to leave the country when my visa expires?

    Thanks again guys.

Where you checked that? I thougth estonians apply at Embassy in Finland and they give only 90 days validity for triple entry tourist visa. If you are even lucky to get that...

  6. Yes, maybe sarcastic and trying to find logic :)

But now, if you are on extension based on work. Then you get fired -> extension ends same day. You are on overstay from that day. But if you want to stay longer, you go buy re-entry permit and not tell immigration you got fired. Illegal ofcourse, but now when you leave, immigration does not ask anything and you fly out without paying overstay fee? Right? Or do you need some proof you still work when you buy re-entry permit?

  7. Seems strange, what would happen if you just left the country?

That Laos immigration will not let you in because you don't have a Thai exit stamp.

And even if Laos stamps you in, Thailand consulate will not issue a a visa since you never left Thailand.

What i mean is if you left the country normally, like didnt says you want to cancel juts exit normal way and then apply for a visa

If you have valid extension of stay the will not let you leave. You have to go the immigration office to have it cancelled.

There are many kinds of extensions, which one have to be cancelled before you can leave?

  8. I would really like to have the extension (for B 1950) because it saves me a lot of time and money (round trip to f.i. Laos at least 2 days hotel, fuel, food etc.).

Why need to go Laos? Where You are now? From Nakhon Sawan it's 1 day trip to Myanmar border, Mae Sot / Myawaddy.

He needs a new visa, not to make a border run.

He wrote visa expires october? Then he maybe go to Savannakhet to get new one. Now he wants 60 extension and if can not get "I will have to leave the country and re-enter."

  9. ATF why don't you think the OP will tell us, all his fans, what airport?

    Absolutely no idea.

Since he has been asked a number of times and no response I would assume he is a troll making up the story. It would be too easy to check if we knew the airport.

    9:43 he wrote

"Im on the airplane now leaving for Paris."
