  1. Who's the idiot here? I'm guessing you know how to get something translated. Their native language is Thai not English...
  2. Why didn't you just tell people how you searched for these "cheap" fares?

And that view is definitely your choice. I don't really have a preference.

In the event you don't know...Ubon (Ubon Ratchathani) and Thani (Udon Thani) are two different cities about 400 - 500 Kms apart...
  5. Ah...because many here don't live in a condo...
  6. I sorry, but none of what you spent can be considered tourist money - just let it go. Many think that their personal living expenses is noteworthy - it's just not.
  7. Do you have the option to apply for an extension based on "marriage"?
  8. The person just seems to be living in a place a little too rich for his pocketbook...
  9. Good for you. All Immigrations Offices and officers are not equal. Being you've been here for a while, you should know that. Amazing that people like you think that their process is exactly the same for everyone across the Kingdom. I seem you haven't learned much during your time here.
  10. Try leaving an "Audio Message" explaining what it is you're looking for - because no one understands what your written post means...
  11. I have a hard time imagining someone today still traveling around with bank notes. I know hindsight is 20/20, but people, there must be at least 10 options to transfer money from point A to point B these days.
  12. That's a pretty generic answer. Some people, including immigration officers, do not even know what a remittance advice is. In fact, said document(s) can come in many forms. I'm just saying...
  13. My guess is you don't really know or are not actually telling the whole story. Give us which bank cc you use and which version of said card will reveal the real story. Otherwise (pun intended) it's a moot point...
  14. Just transferring from one's home country is not always an option. In particular, my home bank requires one to physically walk into a branch to initiate an international transfer. Others don't have the means as some financial institutions have exorbitant fees for an international wire transfer. Still, others do not or cannot put the required funds in a Thai account letting it sit there unused for months on end. You may not have any of these problems, but not everyone is in your financial situation. Personally, I have not have problems, but I have 2 friends living in Thailand that do!
  15. That is not correct, I've been using this process for 4 years and two since the "Long Stay" tagging has been available. Recently in November 2021 my deposit showed up marked as "SMT". My solution was a checklist for the customer service representative at Kasikorn Bank. The checklist/samples show how to obtain a Foreign Exchange Transaction document, and confirmation letter from a Kasikorn Bank business center to use at Immigrations to identify said transaction as "FTT" (Foreign Teletype Transaction) according to Bangkok Bank. I will dig up the checklist and sample form for anyone who would like them via private message (PM). I will not post it here as I may occasionally adjust minor things to suit different Immigration offices...
  16. Which is all the reason why your airline should make you do a quick Antigen test prior to boarding a flight to an international destination. Negative test - you can depart, Positive test - No departure for you today. In fact, you should not even be let into an airport without presenting a negative test at the door!
  17. BananaIT BaNANA สินค้าอุปกรณ์ IT ราคาถูก มีครบ ช้อปไอที ต้องที่ BNN.in.th and JIB Computer jib.co.th should both work. They both also have a presence on Lazada.
  18. For the record, here in Ubon Ratchathani, free Pfizer shots have been available from Sappasit Hospital in various locations around the city for 5 months and you'd be hard pressed to find any foreigners in this and surrounding provinces that haven't taken advantage of this. To this day Pfizer is available at the Main OTOP building on Changsanit Road...we were there yesterday, 23 Nov 2021.
  19. Well, at least it is not as bad as paying for a house and then getting kicked out! Or someone using your car for a loan - without your knowledge and then it gets repossessed...
  20. Many Thai people grew up constantly using perfumed talc powder on their face. Many still use it today and prior to the prevalence of the many fake liquid perfumes and fabric softeners on the market, entire schools full of children wore carcinogenic talc powders on their face. Every woman in my wife's family douses their faces with these powders immediately after taking a shower. And they dump an entire bag, not just a cap full, of perfumed fabric softener in ever wash load. Only speculation, but this may contribute to the problem.
  21. Same happening in the USA. There is supposedly a labor shortage, but every company is making money hand over fist, stock market is through the roof and CEO and everybody that is somebody is getting mega bonuses. Where is the problem and where is the money coming from? Oh, everybody is quitting their job...again, too much money made/saved or been way overpaid for far too long?
  22. For the record, many who have partied with and married bar girls over the years have never set foot in Pattaya, or Phuket for that matter. We've all done time in BKK, but could just have easily meet said girls online!
  23. OK let's address the elephant in the country. Many Thais have reached a level of prosperity where they may be asking themselves...Why are we still letting all these low-lives hang around our country? Not everybody is missing the hordes of tourists like everyone on here makes it out to be. I know a lot of people here that want their own countrymen to be able to come but do NOT want any Chinese, Indians, Arabs or Africans to show up here! Most on here are two-faced...look at the <deleted> going on in western nations against the above said people. Disclosure - I don't drink, but it hasn't kept me from partying hard. Most of you blowhards just want to return to the bar/gogo club/soapy massage/tail chasing days, but hide behind the Thais out of work and no tourists mantra that everyone likes to spout. It's all B.S. and you know it. Man-up. Stop the Charade. Quit your pixxing and moaning. Still, I do like the fact that someone is willing to risk their neck to speak the truth - unlike some on this forum.
