We have been away the last three times the power man came calling and thank fully our neighbours paid it for us and we fixed them up when we came back.

Laithong has a buffet style breakfast, not expensive and they have bacon, eggs, and all you need to wake you up as a farang. Pretty decent from what I can remember....

There was no bacon when I went there 2 weeks ago (might have just been a once off though). Also some of the dishes were stone cold at I got there at 6.30am.

I need to change my post saying that Tony's doesn't do breakfast anymore. Yesterday they said they have stopped doing breakfast but this morning when we went for a coffee they said that they are doing it which was a shame as we had already eaten someone else first!

Well I found it.

Got all excited when i saw it as it is fitted out really nice and then was told that they stopped doing breakfasts 2 weeks ago

We went and had some thai food 50 m away then thought we would go back and have a coffee. Went in, sat down and the told us the only person who can make coffee was at the market and would be back in a minute. After 15 minutes we gave up and left.

Cozy restaurant has closed down and the wrong way cafe doesn't open till 2pm. I thought that the loithong buffet was very poor in regards to western food.

Not a big issue, but pool is not free at Wrong Way Cafe. Well, unless you win, which despite your back problems, you probably did. Loser pays 20 baht. Apparently, there was a gentleman (?) in last night who thought that we pay him 20 baht when he wins, which is ludicrous no matter how much one drinks. He accused Ting of "cheating" over and over again, and was banned. On an earlier day, he actually paid his bill once, then tried to pay it again, just to see if we would charge him again. He thanked us for our honesty and admitted that he knew he'd paid already. Ting is cracking down on silly people, so, silly people beware the wrath of Ting. Doesn't anybody out there want to mention that we are having a Christmas Eve. . . oops!

Thanks for setting me straight on that one. I hope you added the 20 baht to my bill otherwise I am sorry bit I don't think I paid for my 'table time' as I a sure I lost a few games!

It seems that a hospital here in Ubon actually may be able to do it which would mean no trip to Bkk, trying to confirm it now.

I have sciatica and can't sit down wthout being in excruciating pain so that is to far away. Any ideas on prices in Bkk?

During the last two days I have been to both the WW and N Joy for food, company and a cold beer.

Whilst I didn't not like N joy I doubt I will be going back.

The WW is in a much better location, has western food and colder beer! It has more customers, the pool table is free (20 baht a game at n joy), there is a plethora of accommodation close by. Ting is very good with the customers and the place is quite large if a little sterile.

The accommodation out he back is 350 baht a night. Sorry for the poor quality of the pic but I only had my phone with me.

Brand new, around 500 baht a night, comfy beds, good size tv with sat, fride, balcony. Walk out of the wrong way, ross the street and turn right walk for about 75 m.

I am currently at the Montana paying 400 baht which is better value then the Tokyo.
