  1. Mate - you were flying! I tried calling out but my voice was carried away by the turbulence you were creating!

I had to pick up some people at 0900, and I dislike anyone being late for an appointment. :)

I thought you'd developed a strong voice level by now.........since Peppers is located at the south end of the Ubon airport runway :D

Thank goodness for double glazing! Pity I cannot say the same for the Kitchen out the back! Work comes to a complete stop when those airforce jets fly over!

  2. You will need to call them.

The owner of the hotel also owns the supermarket. It is also 'centre' that has ten pin bowling, a swimming pool etc.

It has only been open for a few months.

What sort of goods do you sell?

    Hi MeMock,

OK, I understand now. Will contact the hotel and ask about the supermarket.

We produce Italian style pasta sauce and Mexican salsa.

You can find out more details at: www.nanaproducts.com

    Thanks for your help.

No worries - I am in there about 5 times a week so if you have no lunch let me know and I will ask for some contact details for you.

I noticed on your site that you can use one of your sauces as a pizza sauce. Any good?

  4. What sort of food can you supply? I have a restuarant in Ubon and might be interested.

One place not mention is the new supermarket at the Sunee Grand hotel. Already stocks a fair range of western dry goods - they are locally owned so may be interested. Google sunnee and you will find the number.

  5. Thank heavens for a wife who did keep her head and phone the shop keeper and that you were able to remain focused to be aware of the situation. Very lucky man.

    Get well soon.

I would like to know why after 30 minutes of waiting for an ambulance that you thought your wife had called that you had to call her to find out that it wasn't coming. She didn't think to call you back and let you know?

  6. Thanks for all the replies.

The taxi in the early morning will be from BKK to airport as my wife needs to go 'home' for a day so I will look for a taxi that night and get a number to collect her. I may even ask whoever takes us from the airport to the hotel if they are good to save a headache.

The hotel wants 2000baht to make the trip! I think not. I don't mind paying over teh odds at that time of the morning fro a decent driver but 2000bht is a tad expensive for a 20/30 min trip.

maybe - I might treat her - thinking about it - no!

I take it that your wife is Thai right? If so, why can't she just walk out on the street and catch one by herself like every other Thai and 90% of westerners do?

  7. No wonder I am getting confused with the opening hours.

Here is a pic of the sign out the front that I took today.

I went down and bowled three games. Noise was too loud but as I was by myself it didn't worry me too much as I wasn't talking to anyone. Would be hard though if I was with friends.

Three games @ 70 baht each + 50 baht for shoes and socks. One large beer Leo was 80 baht plus 20 baht for ice (it was a huge bucket and I used about 5% of it)

  8. Perhaps a petition Marco would be a better way of going about it?

it is my day off today and the kids are asleep so I am thinking of walking down now to bowl a frame or two - will lay a noise complaint whilst I am at it as well!

  9. Went back again for something else so took my daughter along to play a few frames. The place was so noisy. Way to noisy - very disappointed we had to walk out as we couldn't handle it.

Seems that some advertising has the place opening at 4pm on weekends but a flyer I picked up has it opening at 2pm which seems to be the case.

  10. I just went down there and according to the sign they don't open on the weekends untill 4pm either! What kind of a bowling alley doesn't open till 4pm on a weekend?

  11. Hi Bergen, didn't see you there mate. Hope life is well. I heard that you dropped into the bakery the other day when I was in bangkok. So sorry that I missed you, my business partner Ben was quite ill and was unable to come and say hello to you. Hopefully you can come again and as I am currently there 7 days a week I will be able to say hello this time!

  12. Do they do the rails for kids bowling?

Dropped in today. Music blasted me away as soon as the doors opened. Could hardly hear the cashier tell me that they don't have rails for kids which is a real bugger.

  13. Great to hear that this is now open. I can't wait to get a day off from work as I only live 100 metres away it will be a nice place to drop in to.
