( :jap: Moderator this time please do not disable my account for posting this links I have no affiliate with them I recommend them because they are honest hard working Thai people and I'm sure they are NOT the type of Thai people that will take advantage of you guys and use Thaivisa as their goldmine for free advertising)

  2. Bei Otto also make good smoked bacon (no affiliation) I'm also a big fan of Gunther products, unlike a local maker that claim they make good bacon but turned out smell a bit like rotten meat. I also really like the sausage from royal project supermarket near the zoo.

  3. In Thai term, Lamphun is where bad driver come from.

LOL, right. Always careful when around a car with Lamphun plates.. ;)

That and Farangs drivers. Also have to be careful with those, especially when the nutters are drunk, which is often.

And I thought not many expat knows that :)

  4. It's absolutely not the best in town. I'm not too keen on Le Spice eigher.

Try Royal India and New Delhi for real Indian

Royal India the guy come from Mumbai and he is passionate about food and they supply good hotels.

Try Chedi for a meal suit for a Mughal emperor (if I may say so)

  5. Starbucks where I live is full of Thai and very little farang and we can afford it!

What you forget that when you go in a macshit place is that you spend more on a crappy meal than a Thai person gets paid in one day, It puts it in prospective does it not ,

I was at the mall eating a fish sandwich at MacDonald's watching all the Thai people across the way eating Japanese food for 400 baht per customer. I guess that puts it in perspective for me. 6 Farang in Mac's and none in the Japanese place.

The Thai people go to Starbucks. I can't afford it I drink at the little coffee place on the street with the robusta.

I use my 800 baht nokia and 12 year old Thai school kids are sporting the newest Apple phone. I drive a 10 year old Toyota and the 21 year old chick living next door is driving a BMW. Do you want me to go on or are things in perspective now?

you chose to live in there country. the real Thai people who do not live in Sin city live in the real Thailand, and 300baht is about there pay for a day. Very few Thais can afford to eat in resturants. or mac shit or. bluber king,My mother Inlaw works in a Thai hospital and she cannot afford to eat In any of these places. I have never see any Thais in Starbuks in Sahmut Sahkon, Because they dont build them in the Thai provinces, just the tourist places, so your view is distorted.

  6. I'm not diabetic but I've seen many cases on the Biggest Loser where many contestant are obese and have diabetes. Some of them no longer needing his diabetes medication but I'm not sure if this is called cured or reversible if they start the sugar binge.

This is one of the case from Australia

I have been diabetic for more than 10 years, I don't think it is reversible..

When I first became diabetic, it was near impossible to get info from the internet. That has changed enormously :)

  7. IMHO: Best Indian food in town is at the Chedi. Royal India is also like what we would have in India (been there 3 times). New Delhi is also good. Never tried Bombay or Kebab house.

Real British curry use curry powder, raisins sometime apple or pineapple. It is an interpretation of real Indian curry.

Curry in the Indian restaurant in the UK are not British interpretation, they are real as mostly made from imported chef from Bengal.

  8. Well here is the scam--Filet steak is a lot different than filet mignon. Filet mignon comes from the tenderloin of beef. If that is the case than it is a good deal. That Singapore guest house in backpackerville, did a filet steak special and it was a very cheap cut of meat.

Fillet steak is a steak made from tenderloin part and Filet mignon is just the French name of it. If it's not from tenderloin then it's a rip off.

    It's a steak for a lady anyway.

  9. If you're talking about the 100% whole wheat or other bread yes 85 baht is may be a bit expensive but consider the ingredient they use which are more costly than average white flour (I guess they might use the import indian Atta mix with whole wheat flour to make them softer) I make mutimalt loaf at home and if I try to sell them it will be over a hundred baht per loaf.

  10. These are out dated definitions that once described political affiliations.

The capitalistic democratic western allies and assorted other industrialized countries were first world. Those aligned with socialism and Russia were second world, and the other countries that had little power were third world. The world has changed, and so have the definitions.

  11. There are Airport Taxi and the other Taxi organization very easy to get them at the airport and they have various size vehicles, I think they can help you finding the right vehicles. I like your dogs and I wish them the best. I'm a dog lover and I wish could own a dog. Anyway I think letting the dogs go in songthews would be too hot and a torture for them.

  12. An oldie, but a goodie. Tossing and catching a 10 baht coin at work, it fell to the floor and started to roll away. I leapt across the room and stomped on it in front of 15 of my Thai staff.

This one cracked me up. Brilliant.

How is this funny or embarrassing? I wanted to.. but sometimes I just can't understand British humor

Actually it's more dangerous than funny; You're basically stomping on a portrait of the King, which would be considered an insult, and is also illegal.

Ha ha got it! I didn't think of that !:jap:
