  1. Haha I thought they should be because at the time it was the last one on the shelves.  Sometime I soak oats overnight with apple juice and add other fruit bits and yogurt in the morning to make muesli  great!

I usually get the cheap ones may be made by some farang in Chiangmai he calls it granola something it is toasted and pretty good

You mean home made granola at Rimping's for 140baht/ 500 gram? Baked in honey...all natural? One of the best on the shelves.

  2. I checked the website it's 18 indeed, I live in Nimman it's cool outside but I live in a town house so I could not feel it haha.

Would you mind telling me where about do you live, its not 18c in Nimman but it's cool enough.

    17.5 C and a very light fog.

Doi Saket. What is your temp?

  3. I don't know I don't think the western world can still be the mother example.   I tasted wienerschnitzel in some of the oldest establishment in Vienna and it's not really better than some of what I have in Thailand.  Most supermarket in Austria and Switzerland do carry less variety stuff than Rim Ping!   Most things people eat are salty and greasy.  The same can't be said about France and Italy.

I agree to many of the items including

    The Duke's pizza and burgers

    Punpun's bake beans

    Kassem's Carrot Cake

    NZ Mainland Vintage Cheddar

     How ever..

"Joe's Bakery German Rye Bread"  should be made of sourdough!  I'm sorry to say this but I expect more!  I make sourdough at home so I like to eat real sourdough rye.

  4. Your story make me feel like I'm living in a country full of mad people

Hmm, I have been wondering, Thais seem to have something with violence.

    Does it come from Buddhism?

When taboos are strong it gets worse once they are broken.

See how Thais pack together in fights.

I have witnessed some bar fights in farangland during my discotheque years, but these get classified as "cat fights" as compared to real fights over here.

Saw a very bad group fighting at a technical school once: a boy and a girl attacked by 20 boys, not nice.

I often witness aggressive behavior on doorsteps, against children who need to be punished for "bad" behavior, more even against pet animals.

We took a puppy dog from a neighbor lady and the dogs would play together. She would take two of them, one in each hand and then bang them together to maker them aggressive, whilst smilingly admiring her own smartness.

My gf showed her disapproval of such behavior.

But: we have two dogs now and I do witness occasional aggressive behavior from her towards the dogs.

Her face then has the same expression of satisfaction I witnessed on our woman neighbor.

It leaves me with the feeling something is amiss with all Thais in regard to violence, clearly an education/culture issue.

  5. I don't like the taste of it.  It tasted more like medicine than tea.  In fact it isn't Tea at all in the first place!

I think it's some kind of herbal tea.   It is widely available.  I'm a fan of fine Chinese green tea.  I tried Jiaogulan once and I hated it.

What did you hate about it,the taste or the effect??

  6. How many farangs like this are there in Thailand, and how do they survive? How do they make a living? Do they get any help from their home countries? Are they completely illegal immigrants or do these people still make visa runs? Do they want to make it back but can't or have nothing to return to?

May be he disappear because people won't leave him alone!

  7. Cousins crashed his house for two days then she said thanks by giving him 10000.  That's what I think.

The story makes no sense

OK the wife's parents gave you 2 months of the monthly amount you'd been giving them for 18 years, without ever feeling the need to give you a 'rebate' previously :whistling:

I've no doubt this makes them FAR better than the average in-laws, but its not exactly incredibly generous behaviour.

  8. Try cook it your self , I make Indian curries and Biryani at home all the time and it's even better than Le spice.  All spice are freshly roasted and ground using Jamie Oliver recipe.  I will give the food a way for free even because it's always too much lol.   If you know me personally I would share them with you no charge!

I always get them ordered off these guy's. Brit Indian Curries I have to order a few in bulk and then they get them delivered to me up here in Chiang Mai. I had one when I was in Phuket and its the nearest thing I have had to a decent curry since I left the UK, not quite Bradford style but very near. I always deal with a guy caled Mike not sure if he's the owner or not.

    Hey Miller

How do you get them to Chiang Mai ?? I dont mind ordering bulk but wondering how they get here from Phuket still frozen ??

    Cheers

  9. I live in a townhouse in Nimanhaemin too and we have been visited many times even last week.

Im so sorry this has happened to you. I had one incident around 4 months ago where someone had broken in. But..they were disturbed, so no damage done. After that my place is now like fort knox...so many locks and bolts and iron railings and doors. Im in the nimmenheimen area too. Town house. I had believed my case was pretty isolated. Mainly due to the fact that a few days prior to the break in office items including a safe were delivered. I assumed that either someone had seen these items, or maybe the delivery men themselves. The person had gone straight for the safe, as it had scratches and dents on it. I had not heard of breakins goin on around the area. So very sorry that you lost everything. :(

  10. Has anyone tried "Snow beef" (googled it but found nothing).  I got it from "The Supermarket" in the other day beautifully marbled.  I normally buy KU Beef or Ponyangkham but these are new ones.  I thought I would try the tougher cut just to prove how these marble of fat would  help.   It was grilled to medium well done and it wasn't bad.   Some toughness still remain but very juicy for that part of beef normally only for stewing or mincing.  Next time might try the Kobe when family budget allowed.
