  1. For that amount of time in Thailand you are correct to take out a medical plan as the sensible option.

Travel will give you the peace of mind should your bags get delayed, flight cancelled etc etc however the most important (and potentially expensive) part, the medical, will be covered under the Health plan.

    forbidden 403?

    Sorry, please go HERE

  2. If 'seniors' are interested in P.A. (and note P.A. is only for accidents) then Thai Visa Brokers can offer >75 years old a plan with a medical coverage of 45,000 Baht for just 4,800 Baht.

Obviously 45,000 Baht does not get you very far these days so we can also offer plans >150,000 Baht for medical expenses (per time !) up to the age of 80.

  4. May I suggest the CTPL sticker is thrown away as that has not been issued for a long time - only the Tax sticker should now be on the windscreen.

Tip : I personally get mixed up with the months written in Thai so to help my old brain I aways write the (expiry) date in English just above the Thai date and so is easily read.

  5. Hi Charles

  6. Did TV insurance ever answer this question? If not I guess no such policy exists?

Yeah, insurance is a 12 month qualifying thing but even then, most are just covering the usual birth package costs.

    To TV Insurance:

Are you saying that once a woman finds herself pregnant, you know of a policy which people can purchase which would not pay for the birth package but which would cover any non normal emergency type things, were complications to set in etc. If so, would that policy cover pre natal and post natal complications and what sort of limits are we looking it ? An indication of a typical premium would be useful as well, say for a healthy 25 year old female having her first child with no known medical problems.

Sorry I thought this had been answered many times before. Yes there are policies that cover this and as an indication for a 25 year old the premium would be USD446

  7. Did this with Bupa last time I needed it. There's an office towards the end of the Superhighway, where it turns into Huay Khao road. It's in the row of shophouses next to the last traffic light before the HK road intersection.

Unfortunately BUPA does not offer full Travel insurance, however as a Thai Visa member you can have the choice of all the Travel plans and premiums on-llne by going HERE

No need to leave the comfort of your home :jap:

  8. Correct me if i'm wrong but don't you have to be under 50 years of age to start a private healthcare insurance package?

Depending on which company/plan one chooses, one can start a medical plan >65 without even a medical. With a medical >70 is usual but we have started new customers of 78 years !

For an on-line quote and details of all plans available use the Thai Visa Broker service HERE

  9. I visit Thailand on a month to month basis, spending around 5 - 6 months a year here.

My TGF need to get Car Insurance and i would like to be able to drive her car too. I have IDP.

At present her and her Father regularly drive it.

If she insures the car, any driver, first class, am I fully covered?

Can I insure her car, any driver First Class and we all be covered?

    Cheers, MH

Either you or your partner can insure the car and as long as it is insured for any driver then yes you will all be covered.

  10. I am in a situation where I have a UK address and I have a very good Annual International Travel Insurance package covering all accidents, hospital treatment abroad etc.

Basically it is Travel insurance and has a limit of 30 days in any one trip.

I do not return to the UK very much and now 50+ although pretty fit with no known or pre-existing medical issues, I feel I need some form of Medical Insurance whilst I am in Thailand. At present I spend 4 weeks at work and 4 weeks in Thailand or visiting other Asean Countries.

I am building my retirement home in Surin, Thailand and will eventually stay there longer term.

What would be the best Policy for me, to cover Accidents and any other Medical Condition and which would be valid for my longer term stay here in a few year time?

I have reviewed the Thai Visa insurance Plans and consider them a very good option...but which one?

    Cheers, MH

There are several very good plans suitable so may we suggest you go HERE for an on-line quote of various plans ?

  11. There is no '4 month' insurance as all insurances run for a year. However there is nothing stopping you from taking the insurance then cancelling it when you wish - note there will be an 'admin' charge levied on the balance.

Point : when you say your car is off road, is it in a secure compound (car park?) with the compound owner covering the insurance for the vehicles ? If the vehicle is simply left in a garage (even locked) then it open to theft/fire etc. and insurance would be worth continuing.

  12. Have sent you a PM

Agree with 007 that Safety is a reasonable company and it is on our Approved list of insurance companies

that surely sounds impressive--on our approved list of insurance companies....

can any other companies join your group.... without being a part of your group.... without having to follow your company rules.... ?

what are the requirements of being approved.... pls?

    thx for explaining.

Sorry not meant to be "impressive" just looking after ones customers.

There are many things to take into consideration when recommending companies and all Brokers have their own criteria. A simple example - as we deal mostly with foreigners we have to make sure all the policies are in English.

does thaivisa insurance companies have any predetermined criteria that you can just post....

so we all can see what they are.... pls?

does your company currently have such written criteria and policies to date, pls?

To be part of the Thaivisa group policies the only requirement is to be a registered Thaivisa member.
