  1. Condolences to the husband and the whole family of the poor woman. RIP.

As with every such post, I can only note with disgust the various comments... Thai bashing in 90% of all posts... "Thai to be blamed for accident".... "would be treated differently if it would be a Thai"... "would be treated differently in Europe"... "no money to be made, case closed"....

I'd like to ask a question to the Admins: Why do you allow comments on such "news" items? You know what will be coming... you could as well add the standard blaming comments yourself and close the item for comments.... did not see a single comment that add value to the post... probably mine included...

No sir, yours is the only mature post, most of these other knuckle heads should be barred from posting.

It is a shame that there are so many cheap jokes made on truly sad situations, all of the time.

  2. i think many people support PM at the begining because of money but they kill themself when they propose 5000 FOR DAMAGE

i will be shy because all of you know is human mistake from chiang mai and khon kaen

you need to understand here we are in bangkok and no one accept this party and now you kill ur people with flood and stock water in lamluka klong3 and other u hide to TV

people here not like issan it s not easy to buy them

BUT IF YOU TRY TO BECOME HONEST AND STRAIGH LIKE THAT YOU CAN TO BE RESPECT AND LOVE BY THEM

and please stop to do like you don t know we are not stupid

Welcome to the forum biloutte...unfortunately I'm unable to make any sense of your post. Please it is not a criticism as I'm sure you did your best with what is obviously not an easy language for you to communicate in. If there is anyone out there that can help "interpret" what biloutte is saying please do so.

Taking a wild stab at it, I feel that this Thai gentlemen is sharing, that once one has lost everything, not having a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of, regardless what country one lives in, some if not many will do things that are out of the box, due to frustration, lack of help, food, water a place to be dry, sleep, loss of love ones and it seems like most of these responding Farangs enjoy kicking the Thai's when they are down or up.

Give it a brake, reach out and help, quick bad mouthing the Thai people.

Take a long look of the country you left and the country your in, there is good, bad and ugly everywhere, many Thai people had next to nothing before this all happened, take that away, add contaminated water and all the other problems and you learn that HELL is also on Earth.

    My take is different

i think many people support PM at the begining because of money but they kill themself when they propose 5000 FOR DAMAGE

    - Many people voted for PT because of the promise of minimum wage, rice subsidy etc etc. However, when it is revealed the compensation for flood damage is only Bht5,000, the people are so disappointed that they commit suicide

i will be shy because all of you know is human mistake from chiang mai and khon kaen

    - the reason for the floods is due to human mistake ie poor dam management

you need to understand here we are in bangkok and no one accept this party and now you kill ur people with flood and stock water in lamluka klong3 and other u hide to TV

    - people need to understand that bangkokians did not vote for PT and does not accept PT. Now, PT is killing the bangkokians with flood water and storing up water in lamlukka klong 3 to drown us. The rest of the politicians are hiding behind the television

people here not like issan it s not easy to buy them

    - bangkokians are not like isaanites. They cannot be bought with money (as in vote buying

BUT IF YOU TRY TO BECOME HONEST AND STRAIGH LIKE THAT YOU CAN TO BE RESPECT AND LOVE BY THEM

and please stop to do like you don t know we are not stupid

    - don't think that we don't know your (PT) agenda. we are not stupid

I'm more inclined to agree with you then I, a stab at it made me ass u me, I have been known to make mistakes from time to time, I was blind sided by some of the previous post, I'm always finding that way to many Farangs are always knocking the Thai people and I always want to say mirror, mirror on the wall.

    I stand corrected.

  4. Very sad to hear about this when the country is in need of the good Thai spirit.

I think the good guys far outweigh the bad guys in the floods right now :D

I see thousands of people helping out and volunteering everyday but in a country this large you are bound to get some bad with the good.

I arrived in Pathum Thani with my Filipina wife and 19 month old baby early morning 15 Oct; started work the next Monday and by Thursday, the Floods arrived at Bangkadi Industrial estate + my condo (up to 3m in some areas in the estate.

Amidst the events that happened from that Thursday till now, many incidents touched the hearts of my wife and I - things that we cannot expect in in the country I came from (where I had lived for 6 years).

    Here are just some examples:

    • On the Thursday night the floods were starting to come in, I was asking a motorcyclist I had never met how to get to a place where II can buy something my family/baby needed. He patiently gave me directions and I may have to walk some distance as taxi was getting scarce. I thanked him and walked on, Imagine my surprise when he came up from behind me (against the flow of traffic) and offered to fetch me there. Even wanted to send me back but I refused to accept his offer (just as he refused to accept my offer to compensate him for the ride) as I was already thankful enough, What kindness! I doubt this will ever happen where I came from - if I get any help as all, it would be a chance for them to ask for money. as they know I am a foreigner (somehow their minds become greedy the moment they see a foreigner)
    • As I helped the company I just started to work for to retrieve materials from the flooded factory to another factory located in Cheangwattana that was not flooded, I cannot helped being impressed by the many (all in fact) BOATMEN/WOMEN who were transporting materials (WITHOUT escort) we had managed to retrieve from the Factory to Tan-tet (spelling?) landing point where people were waiting with vehicles to get the materials to the factory. These boat people worked hard and tirelessly and were honest, At the same time, the company cared for them, Where I came from, more likely than not. one can expect to kiss the goods goodbye.
    • I can't help noticing the many many vehicles parked along bridges and other higher grounds. They are mostly still safe after so long. Compared to where I came from, where people even break into vehicles stranded (partially submerged) in floods to steal.
    • When I was relocated to an apartment (temporarily) in Chaengwattana I was not sure if I will have enough cash to last till end of the month to get my 1st salary, given the possible increase in prices for everything (something I can expect from where i came from) and had expressed this to the owners of the provision shop at the apartment, They offered that if I ever got to that state, I can just take what I need from their shop and pay them later! This is the real "Thai rak Thai" spirit in action. Till now, I have yet to see an increase in food prices here, except for very few items. Mostly Items just go out of sock a and will be priced the same when stocks are replenished. This is unknown where I came from where vendors will take every chance to increase prices and it takes long time for the prices to come back to normal.
    • Ive gotten many small voluntary help from people - in ways I did not expect/ And little things mean a lot,

Of the bad experiences I;'e had so far - with 1 taxi driver who to tried to overcharge (foreigners) and gave my wife less change than should be, or the 1 who claimed to know our destination and yet took the longer route - seemed to have gotten lost for a while (but this may be due to misinterpretation of my limited Thai vocab). But these are tiny irritations compared to the good I have received

I hope the warmth and hospitality of the Thai people shown to us thus far will continue. If so, my wife and I have made the right decision to leave her country to come here.

Thank you for sharing, I also, for the past 11 years have had wonderful Thai people offer help when needed, asking for nothing in return and being happy to help.

I lost all of my money due to bad investments and have been living on 20 thousand baht a month for many years, for a Farang small money, for many Thai good money.

Many Thai's know I have small money and are always offering food, help and friendship, I have known hundreds of wonderful giving Thai's, opposed to the ones only interested in the baht.

I also believe we get what we give (NOT BAHT) friendship, respect, understanding, helping hands, love.

I find Farangs create most of their problems by flashing big coin, cocky attitude, lack of smiling, building big homes in poor areas and treating Thai's like lesser people (NO RESPECT)

There will always be people trying to beat people out of coin or stealing, robing everywhere on this planet, one just needs to know when to hold-em and when to

fold -em, life is a learning curve some remain victims, some raise above it with being respectful to self and others and being fully responsible for all of their actions.

To many Farangs are making many good Thai's suffer from the few that rip off, rob and so on.

Where you hang, what you do, how you treat has a lot to do with it.

Welcome to Thailand my friend, have a good life.

  5. Very sad to hear about this when the country is in need of the good Thai spirit.

Good Thai spirit? You must be kidding. These people would take advantage all day long if they could. Not really any fault of their own. This country values only the baht and how much you have of it. There are no safety nets, no social programs so one must beg, borrow or steal if one wants to survive.

Or maybe even have to work.... Uhhhhh sorry.gif

Are you talking about the USA?

Having left the USA 11 years ago and remembering how it was then and hearing how it is now, I must agree with you374.bmp

  6. Cannot stop Mother Nature at this point. She's has always been in control. Even now!!

Water flows towards the sea, not up into the mountains.

Hopefully, Thai government officials and experts not only from Thailand can come together to assist Thailand with this major issue.

So true, reroute the natural flow of rivers, streams, creeks, asphalt the ground that used to allow the water to seep, build next to the flow, plug up storm drains with garbage, and wait for the fat lady to sing.

Mother Earth is giving us all a wake up call, now she will see if we all wake up! (EVERYWHERE) Before her rage washes us humans right out of her hair.

  7. That is why Australians and other nationalities will get a bad name because of all the import that they let into their country.

Only punished by 600 bath is cheap much too cheap

Thais wouldn't understand by their names that they were not originally from Australia. C'mon, they are holding Aussie passports...

I remember an American guy who called the cops to a hotel in Bangkok, where he 'got robbed.'

The cops not just found the 'items' he'd claimed to be 'stolen', they also found some weed. Two things are endless, human stupidity and the universe.

But I'm not sure about the universe...(Albert Einstein).................jap.gif

It shows to go yea, It doesn't matter where one comes from, It doesn't matter where ones at, what matters is where one is coming from on the inside374.bmp, cha, cha, cha.

  8. Aloha<br id="yui_3_2_0_15_131932289778969">

When we reroute the natural flow of rivers, streams and creeks, remove trees, asphalt the jungle and set up living areas next to them, other wise messing with Mother Earth, we are asking for sooner or later problems, of course you all know that, also making Mother Earth our ashtray and garbage can without using either one, we are contaminating all waterways, the only blame is man, Thai and Farang.

  9. I don't think that 1000bath anybody will be bothering to call the office, the skin and meat of the snake or crocodile is worth many times that much

Collect the baht, sell or eat the meat, sell the skin, I'm sure the main concern is to remove them and adding a reward is just another way to accomplish

    this dangerous problem.

  10. I'm stuck near the Asia Highway in Ayuttaya, in an apartment with my wife and 5 month old baby. Water's been deep since Wednesday, but in the last 2 days its torrent into a torrent, really dangerous. Only just managed to get out this morning, given free food for the day by locals, nothing to buy, nothing can get through. Helicopters flying overhead every hour, but nothing being dropped. Fresh water is needed, Ive got 12 litres left.

You think my government (I'm English) will help me? Can you give them a ring for me?

    Cheers.

Sorry to hear about your situation, (another learning curve)

Regardless where one lives, one should always have plenty, I mean plenty of water stored, caned and dried food, batteries, first aid kit

    and powdered milk.

And even more so if one has a baby, stink can happen at anytime, anywhere, I only hope when and if you survive this hardship that you

load up on at least a months supply of what you, wife and baby will need for the next problem that Mother Earth will throw at us due to the

fact that we are not taking care of her.

    I wish you Chok-Dee.

  11. This topic is about applications for extensions. It is NOT about 90 day reports. Also, this topic is about Jomtien (probably also Chonburi as they are the same outfit) ONLY.

I posted it to help people at JOMTIEN going in for EXTENSION applications to be prepared for more application filling out and also to be sure to have the TWO PHOTOS, and the two copies of the passport ID page.

As I said, they are now requiring people to fill out two forms for a single extension application. Being well dressed and polite or not has absolutely NOTHING to do with it.

    Strange!

I've seen people dressed in swimwear thrown out also people that are not nice thrown out at the old Soi 7 Pattaya and Soi 5 Jomtien, remember these people at immigration are police.

Clean and polite always takes one further then badly dressed and ugly mouthed, one is better off forgetting what they need rather then forgetting how to dress or not having respect, bring ones smarts with their paper work.

  12. Don't take kickbacks or bribes my arse. I can assure you 100% they do. I have been pulled over 1/2 dozen times for nothing and booked. Got the option if you want a receipt (infringement notice) then you pay 200 baht fine if you not want receipt then 100 baht fine. Get stopped at those highgway roadblocks and they see you are farang so the dollar signs light up and they ask you to pull to the side of the road. We know where they all are now between Chiangmai and Nakon Sawan so when we get close I change driving with the wife proceed through the stops and no shakedown.

My experience in BKK has been completely the opposite. I can honestly say I've driven through 100s of checkpoints and have never been stopped. I've only stopped when I have genuinely done something wrong (unfortunately right in front of a cop or a group of cops) and then I paid my bribe and was off. But I've never been stopped or hassled for nothing.

    Also

I see many people driving in a way that they should be getting tickets daily, Thai and Farang, to many people become to relaxed over here and "never" follow the rules, I'm sure most that pay many bribe/fines, would have much bigger problems where they came from, over here many forget common sense driving, sometimes get caught with their shorts down, now and again one might need to donate for the cause but if it is every week, maybe driving school.

  13. After reading 7 pages of thread I can't believe the endless repeats of the following:

Comparisons of Thailand to Germany, UK, US. Utterly ridiculous. You can't compare them on any level. Compare to another impoverished Asian country, if you must.

People taking the story at face value when lots of it makes no sense. Who hit who? The drunk missus. The copper who seems to know the whole story but maintains there were no (coherent) witnesses. Except him it seems.

The usual plethora of Thai bashing that is unrelated to this post. There is clearly a very big problem with Tuk Tuks in Phuket. There seems to be a regular crew hanging around however. who wheel out the same "Thailand is crap" comments. I've tried to get on top of the moderating rules. But early on is a post by (why bother naming them) some fool who suggests if we stay away from Thailand they will have to "eat their young". I mean really.

It seems it was an argument amount a relatively (to a westerner) small amount of money. I've lived in a third world country for nearly twenty years. Arguing with a local about small money until it gets really aggro is crazy. Just pay and don't do it again. Complain yes, and this forum is a good place to discuss it. But winding up with life threatening injuries over a couple of bucks is senseless.

Don't come the "principle" of the matter or right and wrong. Take care of yourself. This is a poor country where (like virtually all poor countries) the rule of law does not necessarily apply.

Mahalo nui loa (Thank you very much)

  14. 200 baht equals approximately 4 and a half Euros. A German paying anything less than ten euros for such a trip in Germany would be lucky indeed. While this is not Germany, the foreigners come here expecting everything for cheap and to push people around, just like that German just pushed the tuk-tuk driver to the ground because there was an argument. We don't have the whole story, because as was noted, the German couple were drunk, it is possible they are putting themselves in a much better light than they have behaved, and the Tuk-tuk driver cannot be located because 200 baht is not an incredibly high price to pay for a taxi ride in the rain in the middle of the night.

Nice to know someone has some common-sense. Not paying the fare and pushing the driver down in the rain, in his country, (maybe older) is the wrong thing to do where-ever your at.

Then (shit can happen) Yes the beating was way over the top, play with fire, to drunk to remember or walk, rain, 800 meters, 200baht, pay and thank him.

I often see many lazy Farangs not wanting to walk the distance, then bitching over 50 or 100 baht, ask first.

I hope he recovers, sorry if he doesn't. Let this be a wake up call, ask first, to much, walk.

  15. I got robbed of 14M and a son.

Such is life, BEFORE you know its culture "and after", as long as you learn your way.

I picked up and started again.

    So be it.

Such is life. More fool me! - as it was my error.

Believe me, I'm happier now with less than before! , cos I now have nothing.

Thailand is full of good women. It isn't as bad as many posters complain about. Have faith.

Don't put your assets into the view of anyone, apart from your accountant ABROAD. :jap:

Do that, and you are fine!

    -m.

!0 million baht home and a million baht learning curve, not bad, not bad at all, many of us have much more expensive diplomas.

One licks their wounds, gets a tad smarter, and makes the best of the now's, that are left in ones life, nobody died.

I would still take Phuket over Bangkok 10 to 1.

Flash your worth and your asking poor people, that are trying to feed their family, to rip you off, so they can feed their kids, wife

    and parents.

Consider it a foolish mistake and also a donation in helping the less fortunate, lose no sleep, just cover your back side better

and be grateful that have a roof, bed, food and coin in the bank.

  16. The wonderful aromas of Pattaya......yep it is a disgrace really.

Even a simple thing like when you get off the songtaew just before walking st there is nowhere really to walk without risking life and limb with the traffic and treading over those smelly drains.

Soi Boukow area is also dirty, dusty and smelly and the area around Tutkom is pretty horrendous as well.

It wouldn't take much to clean these things just a bit but nobody cares and nobody is willing to spend the money on the improvement.

Isn't it great how they cover the stormwater drains with old mats to stop the aromas wafting up to street level , and when it rains don't bother to remove them so the whole street floods .. and what eventually happens is the old mat starts to break up and goes down the stormwater drain in a detoriated state and out to seawith the leftover street vendors unsold muck .. brilliant technology and thinking ,and such little effort required. Really the best way to fight them is to join them at their game ,pollute and pollute more ,dump your garbage right in front of their ignorant noses help them wreck their living environment , stuff the tourism.. Sadly as we know the impact on nature most likely be irreversible, but hey they don't give a flying f...k about what you or I think. Sadly they just don't know what the result is of there dirty habits, and guess what,, few thais care!!! This problem has gone on for decades polluting is just same same as walking .Has anyone here ever ventured on the sewer canal transport in Bangkok!!! The waters thicker than soup of black stinkin efluent and I saw people swim in it!!! What a pity the rest of the world is trying desperately trying to save the planet!! If anyone cared wouldn't you expect by now some major effort from authorities be done.I am becoming to the belief this is Thailand ,part of the culture ,my farang voice and yours means NOTHING here FARANG. Why should it it is THEIR country, sadly OUR planet. This is a losing battle ! Sorry to the minority but I think the majoriy like it. Thinking of going home soon I,m sick of the stupidy ,I,ve never used that word in my life so much till I came here , Lovely people some yes but F ,No wonder its called third world.

It's not what you think! It's what you do! So you say join the unknowing or uncaring, Talk about giving up, it is true one needs some backbone, drive and caring for the voiceless to take on what looks like an impossible task and maybe is. People like you will be the ones to let any chance, go down the storm drain with the rest of the garbage, because you think it can't be turned around, I have never heard so many lazy, willing to give up. NOW is the time to take on the job, nobody said it would be easy, what a bunch of cream-puffs.

They sure don't make-em like they used too.

I find that I mostly walk the walk alone due to lazy, overweight self-serving, grumpy old men.

The Farang brought the plastic, disposable lighters, cigarette filters, junk-food, coke, foam and other things that are destroying the Earth and then we blame the Thai the used to eat off a leaf and then let it go back into the soil, mirror, mirror on the wall, we flood them with non-biodegradable shit and walk away. (GOOD JOB FARANGS) we are so educated and wise.

    ********************************************

Sorry, but most tourist that I see in Pattaya are NOT throwing their garbage on the beach or along the street. They are like me looking for a garbage bin to place it in. I see the locals leaving their foam food containers and plastic bags laying around; I see hotels and restaurants placing their bags of garbage along the street at night (not in bins) for the rats to attack before the garbage truck arrives; I have seen the motor boat employees just dump their garbage from the boats into the sea instead of retuning it to shore and placing it in a bin. It is ridiculous for us to think that we are going to eat off a banana leaf or biogradable bamboo in modern times. But all of us are responsible for placing our garbage in an appropriate place -- not just anywhere. There are countries that do a wonderful job in taking care of their litter and recycling in the year 2011. Switzerland recycles 51% of their litter; Austria 49% ; the Scandanavian countries around 45%; Japan 42%... A community (which Pattaya is for some of us) can improve itself before waiting for "big goverment" to enforce laws (of course, would they be inforced???). It needs to educate its visitors, Thai and foreign, to not litter; meanwhile being more responsible in keeping this "international" city clean and more appealing to the eye.

    True

Imposing fines and more garbage cans would solve much of the problem, when one must pay, one thinks, Pattaya City Hall needs to take control, yesterday.

  18. I think we should start a thread highlighting some of the disgusting unclean areas of Pattaya.

Right off Soi Buakhao there is a dirt lot where consruction equipment and buses park. The lot is strewn with garbage and the buses release their toilet waste which flows right over the street into a drain; I've almost puked crossing it. I'll take some pics and start a new thread tomorrow.

I'm surprised Mr "keep pattaya clean" man and his crew hasn't cleansed the city yet :)

You know, the guy, with those "keep pattaya clean" and "this is not an ashtray" signs plastered all over Jomtien beach.

This man is on a losing battle.....

Over the last few weeks I have seen Jomtien Beach more garbage strewn than at any time in the last 5 1/2 years I have been living here.

    It is an appalling mess.

2 weeks ago it was so bad there were dead fish and I even saw a Turtle carcass at the South end.

Yesterday morning I saw 4 women in orange bibs half heartedly scraping up some the the plastic bags with rakes. It would need an army of them to really clean it up.

This past week-end has seen thousands of Thai tourists swamp the place and leave all their rubbish behind.

To compound the issue the poor of the Parish scrounge around in what few bins there are for plastic and glass....why they don't pick up the stuff on the beach as well beats me ???

Surely plastic and glass on the beach might be cleaner than in an ancient stinking unwashed green wheely bin !!! Maybe the beach is too dirty for them to venture on !!!!!!

The other odourous problem is the Soi Dogs crapping all over the beach and pissing on the deck chairs and tables that people pay 40 baht a day to use.

I also cannot understand why any one would even venture bare foot onto this beach let alone swim in the water. But I suppose if you come from some land locked village in Nackon Nowhere or the Steppes of the former soviet union you know no better.....Maybe all beaches in the world are like Jomtien and its perfectly "normal" to frolic in sewage, plastic food bags, dog ends, dog crap, dead fish and discarded uneaten food.

Should I call 1137 and Complain....or would it fall on deaf ears. Thais I talk to about it here all have the same attitude mentioned already on this post......they are from Isaan what the hell do they care, most of them never go on the beach anyway they are too busy selling tourist tat, food in plastic bags, working in a bar, salon or massage to be bothered about such trivia as pollution of an already crappy beach.......

Maybe .....one day the Real Estate people will get their act together and instead of touting the place as sea side haven on their brochures they could pay for legions of people to make it a sea side haven of golden sands and azure blue seas......but there will be squadrons of pigs flying over Pratamnak before that ever happens...........

Yes his efforts , totally a waste of time , poor bloke but you must respect his good intentions ....unfortunately hes outnumbered by the uneducated litterbugs about a million to one . Should see the new rubbish tip the.ve just opened on the side of a sidestreet behind Jomtien ,took photos and will post them later, the most unlikely of places right next to a lake which will fill up soon with the sh...t. But if you really want to see some MASSIVE Shi.tholes go down the very end of Jomtien and stick to the ocean till you get to the boat mooring place .. Hey I kid you not ...even 100 semi trailers couldn't take away the garbage there ,lots of it is the rottong food stuff in the green gargabe bags ,local kids play amonst it but the best part is its floating on tidal water and gets taken out to sea, We should take the clean up jomtein man there ,it would stop him in his tracks as this is the major cause to crap on Jomtien beach . So thick you can walk out over it . I couldn't believe my eyes and I know these good samaritan efforts that you and I have are FUTILE. Wake up and I,m so sorry to say but get out and smell the roses or plastic bags i should say for yourself ....you and I can't change this ....least not with our hands!!!

    Aloha

And that is the problem most of you lazy educated Farangs are to busy making yourselves happy with young ladies and stories, that you could care less about the voiceless, Children, Wildlife and Waterways.

We elders should "all" be involved in giving back to Mother Earth, Educating the Unknowing or Setting Examples by Walking the Walk, not Talking the Talk.

We see some of you wearing your expensive walking or running shoes, side stepping dangers to children, wildlife and waterways, thinking! I didn't do it! Not my problem!

or riding your bike, looking in the mirror at Tony's gym. It is your problem, leaving behind things that you know could hurt, kill or contaminate, is as bad as the litter-bug that left it behind, because you know better.

One needs to get over this Me, Me thing, and reach out for the We, We. If lazy overweight Farangs could only realize the priceless rewards of inner-wealth from Waster-Sizing.

Bending at the Waist to pick up the Waste and getting rid of both, your not only making it a tad safer for the voiceless, your also getting your exercise, a win, win.

I have many people that reach out and help, most are Thai on holiday and some Farangs on holiday. (What's wrong with the people that live and feed off of this place)

I have no idea where most of you were raised, but I'm quite sure your parents didn't raise you to be un-giving, uncaring old men.

NOW is the only time there is to make a difference no matter how big or small, every man made danger that I remove, is 1 less thing that "could" be ingested by a child, wildlife or waterway.

I'm quite sure that I have made more of a difference in removing dangers in 1 week then "most" of you have in a life-time. Walk a mile or 10 in my 73 year old bare feet, before you judge or say we can't change it with our hands. The only waste of time is the waste of skin that does nothing but take up space and bitch.

Far from being a poor bloke, I am a man that is giving back and love every minute of it, my inner-wealth, exercise, outlook and health is from giving back, I count my blessings daily. Heaven and Hell is here on Earth and I found my Heaven (Making a difference by setting examples, shaking hands and leaving only footprints behind.

Being only as good as our last performance, I find the best thing about giving is you don't have to, and you get more back in return.

  19. Its as hideous as drugs...should be banned, nothing worse than standing next to someone on the BTS or a confined space and smelling the wreak of booze....disgusting habit...

It is much more worse if he / she is also a smoker, a booze and ashtray breath together is about as bad as it can get.

  20. I better get to Lotus! drunk.gif Or it'll be a boring weekend lol

Do you get bored when not drinking fermented sugars? Too bad for you.

I go outside to appreciate nature. You might try it - to alleviate boredom. No mind altering drugs needed.

Plus, if you quit drugs, then perhaps your body will be better able to create its own natural drug.

Also what a wonderful time to educate others, be it Thai or Farang, why not just for these two days do a little "Waster-Sizing" rather then drinking.

Pick an area like the Beach, Park, Lake, Neighborhood and if you happen to see Dangers for our Children, Wildlife and Waterways

    "Remove It"

All one needs to do is bend at the waist to remove the waste and get rid of both.

Did you know that Babies up to two years old put what ever will fit into their mouths like TOXIC Cigarette Butts and Bottle-Caps also Wildlife, Land, Air and Water, Ingest same along with Plastic, Stryofoam, Disposable-Lighters, Camera-Batteries...These things can Kill, make Ill and Contaminate.

Remember it is not where we came from, it is not where we are at, It is where we are coming from on the "Inside" that matters.

Set some Examples by Walking the Walk, leaving only Smiles and Footprints behind. At our age we should give back a little by

setting examples, the rewards are priceless and NOW is the only time there is.

  21. "............. is believed to have originated from poor hygiene at a farm, in transit, or in a shop or food outlet."

When it has spread to 10 countries, you might think there is something a little more complicated going on there.

"The Public Health Ministry has decided not to set up checkpoints at Suvarnabhumi Airport to screen for passengers who might be carrying the infection.............."

If they did, what would they look for?

A brown patch on the back of their trousers I would guess

    Or red
