  1. Of course he has a right to try and push his products !! isn't that a right of being a sponser?? if i tried to advertise my company the post will be deleted. That is a shame that johnbkkk won't advertise again and then we will miss his good recipes and idea's.

Some people are really dead from the neck up :o:D

  2. Having visited Samui last week and found the place a complete mess !!

    1) roads are a nightmare

    2) building work everywhere

    3) traffic worse than Bangkok

    4) general dirtyness of the place

    any more idea's...........

you forgot the flooding in the rainy season and the taxi mafia; meter? we don't need no stinking meter!

Flooding !! yes, people might want to start looking for a second hand canoe or a small rowing boat soon......... :o:D:D:D

  3. Great range of products.. prices are a too steep for my liking. I won't name names BUT another meat producer in the Bangkok area is at 35 percent cheaper than your prices and delivery is also cheaper. Is it possible to ask where the meat products like the sausages, burgers etc.. are from?? which company or are you making them yourself at HQ of Thaivisa??

    cheers

  4. I live in Nakhon Si Thammarat and we have 3 large supermarkets here, but they all seem to have stopped selling sunflower oil!! the only oil is soy bean oil or palm oil. Is this the same over Thailand or only a local problem down south?? could someone explain??

    Cheers

  5. Just ask Thais from Central or North Thailand what they think about Thais from South, particularly from NST...

My mum told me I am special so I am very special...

Tatler cynical? Ha! A mailbox is more cynical than he is, he is just honest, he says it like he think it should be like... He is a big jellybean...

Sorry Tatler, dont want to ruin your streetcred, if you know what I mean...

Well just ask Thais in the south what they think of Thais from Issan. They will tell you they must be stupid. They voted for Thaksin sisnt they.

What was wrong with Mr. Thaksin?? he was a harding working PM that wanted to make Thailand into a more advanced and modern country !! Thaksin is my god :o:D

  6. It sounds like you and Ms. X have been through a lot together over a substantial amount of time, and it also seems that she's aware that you are not a man of great means. To me, 100,000 baht isn't a great deal of money (in comparison to the sin sod and "sick buffalo" stories I've read here at TV). I'm usually one of the first people to be skeptical of the stories that Thai women tell farang to get them to open there wallets and their hearts, but the relatively small amount (and assuming this is the first/only time she's has asked for your financial assistance) makes me feel that perhaps this gal is on the up and up. Quickly scanning through the posts, it seems that there has been fairly equal representation for both sides of the coin. Unfortunately, that probably doesn't help you to decide whether or not to believe this girl, so you've really got to trust your instincts. The welfare of your child is involved, and for me that would be a huge factor that would likely cause me to find some cash to help out in the situation. Once again, the fact that she's stuck with you during times that have been both difficult and financially lean says something positive about this young lady.

I think some of the best advise that has been given is to ask her for a copy of the loan agreement. Explain that you want to help her family but don't have the cash available, so you must go to the bank for a loan, and a copy of the lease agreement could help secure a loan (although we all know it wouldn't really). Doing this would send her the message (or reminder) that you're not rolling in dough, and it would also serve as some type of gauge to determine how legitimate her story is. If she gives you some unlikely or illogical stories about why no paperwork can be supplied, perhaps the red light should go on and the alarm should sound.

    Good luck

Great advice!! How many more replies does the OP want before he his going to make up his OWN mind?? Life is full of risk's, take a chance and get on with it. good luck...

  7. What ever problems the OP had with his ex-wife and money, he is in his 40's <deleted> and he never saved a penny into his own bank account?? he must have known before he had is crash that his money was coming to an end?? why didn't he do anything about that?? is 100,000 baht alot of money?? i don't think so coming from a skint 29 year old teacher in Thailand.

IMO the child is better off here in Thailand with Grandmother than with a skint, homeless father!!

please read the whole post, I had plenty of cash but was taken off my bank account ( something that now I am back in Uk the ombudsman is looking into).

and also where does cash=love have we become that jaded?????

I have read the whole post mate, what i was saying why didn't you have your own bank account?? i have been married to my Thai wife for 5 years and we have 2 kids. We have a shared account and then we both have are own bank accounts, where we decide ourself how much we want to save or spend!!

    Not rocket science :o:D

  9. I wonder how many death's of Burmese workers goes un-reported?? If anyone has ever stayed at the Mandalay resort in Koh Samui, they will know that 98 percent of the staff are from Burma. Having stayed there 3 years ago and heard some of their stories left me with tears in my eyes.

They are treated like sh@t, they have no rights what so ever and if they get too out of hand they get dealt with !!

What can a simple person like myself do to help these mis-treatment, under paid Burmese workers??

  10. Just wanted to finish the story!! In the end i took everyones advice and told the 2 husbands about what was happening. One of them understood me and also believed me and is now working out what to do next, while the other friend didn't believe me and called me this and that... up to him

At the end of the day i haven't done anything wrong here and i am glad that i did say something and would do it again, no regrets.

Thanks for your replies and advice

  11. Simple - The locals have no concept of traffic regulations and/or safety. That along with their inbred lack of driving skills is a recipe for accidents.

I agree with this first sentence but I think the second is rather harsh... :o

I think when you grow up around cars and motorbikes you become skilled in driving them. Thais are not bad drivers..they're just not educated or regulated in such a way that they follow a predictable driving pattern.

Chris, spend a few hours at a driving test centre and watch them going around the course. They're on the pavement, knocking bollards over and as for hill starts and reversing, hysterical to watch. And then after doing all that, they're then issued with a licence allowing them legally on the road! - they (the vast majority) have no concept whatsoever.

Is this because they have no formal training or are you suggesting that Thais are genetically inferior?

    Thais are genetically inferior

Chris78, why would you suggest that?? deep down you think that, don't you?? :D

  12. Buy in bulk !! I am going to buy a pig and share it with 2 other people, works out about 950 baht person !! for that you get abot 30kg of meat!! that should last you about 20 minutes snowflake :o:D:D
