Sorry all. I should have said. The immigration office is Bueng Lan and they have always been extremely helpful and polite.
I feel they deal more with Lao people than Europeans from my visits there but either way good experience

It is a 30 min drive for me, but I take your point some Offices are very difficult to get to for some Expats. Never been to Immigration in Bangkok - and yes that would not be 'easy' or quick for most people. But even for me we organise to do something else there before and/or after we visit, so the trip is never just for that. Yes there is plenty of information on AN, but sometimes the locals want something different, and it does no harm to put yourself and the wife in front of them, before you lodge the application together.

Simply change the basis of your reason for stay from retirement to marriage. You will no longer have a visa, only an extension of stay.
Then my Non O visa will be invalid?
Do I need apply for new visa for marriage?

Dear all.
I retired a year ago and am using 800k in the bank method.
I have a car owing about 350k and making monthly payments.
Would like to withdraw my 800k retirement and keep 400k marriage money in bank.
Thus allowing me to pay off the car.
Means changing to marriage visa and extension from current retirement visa on first 12 month extension, which expires in April 2024.
Can ypu advise please?

The loan sharks are no doubt well connected to the local mafia who probably take a cut. So of course Dr Death says he will do nothing against them, but will negotiate! Yet they are criminals, and what they're doing IS ILLEGAL! GEDDIT? Cancel the stupid 500 billion THB steal - what's the point when you have a 50,000 THB @ 10% pm illegal loan, and in stead sort out people's debts. Cancel any illegal loans, obviously, force them to repay all payments to date, and bang up the shark in his shark cage for all to jeer and throw rotten tomatoes at. Public shaming. What Thais fear more than anything. And guarantee immunity from defamation. Proper crack down!
Per day @ 5% I was told. The 10% per month is jai dee. And supported as you say. Big words will not take local action.
HiLo and carc games lend over the table at 10% on the night.
All have "support" and pay fees.
I cannot see how it can be stopped

Thank you.
Guy is a bit shifty so good to know there can be no "extras".

Guys
My wife sold a house to her uncle a bit over a year ago and now he wants to sell it back.
Drama but ok, same price.
What are the extra fees she needs pay for transfer?
Transfer fee is 2% but for 2023 reduced to 1%.
Stamp duty is .5%
But there is another fee because of the time < 5 years the sale is made
Can someone please tell me.
Thanks

Thank you SC....I have heard good and bad reports about Hanoi, but I believe the Architecture and Food in many parts is heavily influenced by the French Colonisation which should make for a very interesting visit, particularly for my GF who has never ventured outside Thailand.
She is from Sakon Nakhon and so could easily be mistaken for VN or Lao, but does not speak any languages other than Thai in Various Dialects and Broken English!
If we go somewhere where they may speak French or Viet-English I will have to translate for her for once, which should be a laugh! ????
If the wife is from Sakon maybe she would like to see the bottom end of the Mekong.
An overnight trip if going by road to Can Tho / Me Tho and beyond and the delta or Vietnam tourist agency do a day trip includes a boat ride and lunch.
Not too expensive if I remember.
Tourist place is opposite Vincom centre easy find

Dear All,
I have a friend who lives in HCMC or as he and his VN wife still call it "Saigon"......She is from the South.
He has done some travelling and indeed at this moment is in Quy Nhon, but VN is so BIG and he is still working, that he has only been to a few destinations outside Saigon.
Quy Nhon .....Beach paradise, but I live on Samui and don't need that.
I am asking please for your recommendations from your visits to anywhere you have been that you Really Liked in Vietnam?
I have already seen loads of YouTube stuff about the usual tourist venues such as HCMC, Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, etc., but I am looking for more off the "Beaten Tracks"experience.
Obviously, I will be travelling with Marina so please....No Dumb Answers!...It gets on yer T!Ts after a while!
Love Troy and Marina xxx ????
Saigon to DaNang to Hue - Imperial Palace. Have a beer and feed at the DMZ bar would suggest Dalat and Pleiku if you can and just work your way round to Hanoi , Halong bay. Lao Cai / Sapa see the mountains and rice terraces.
Eat local foods all good. Enjoy and remember what side of the road you should legally be on - but locals may not, as per here watch out for unlit vehicles at night.
Enjoy

A quarter tab should be sufficient. Was for me anyway until my late 60s. Any more and it was like having a third leg. Buy a pill cutter to make chopping them up easier.
I have tried viagra and tadalafil but get 3 or 4 days killer indigestion that really makes me wonder if it was worth the trouble. Any options?

If you already have significant blockage in a major left coronary artery you may well be dead before any preventive measures could kick in. Aggressive treatment of risk factors can prevent additional or worsened blockages. It takes a very extreme reduction in lipids (which few can achieve and even for them takes time) to actually shrink existing plaque.
No responsible doctor would advise relying on this alone if there is already severe blockage in a major left coronary artery.
The only way to know the extent of the blockage and its location for sure is to have the angiogram.
The KKU Heart Hospital I and others have recommended is a government facility. They will not insert a stent unless clearly needed.
Thanks so much for your help.

Wow. Thanks, certainly thought provoking.
Would be more interested in preventive action than surgery.
Maybe cholesterol cleaning meds and better food choices will help.
Any other suggestions?

Looking for advice.
I am 68 and retired last year.
I did a complete physical check at Bangkok hospital in Udon.
The ECG and ECO show a blocked left ventricular artery and follow up was recommended with Angiogram and Angioplasty if needed.
Angiogram I was quoted 40 to 50k plus another 50k for overnight stay in observation room.
If Angioplasty is needed 250k with one stent and 50k per additional.
My queries are below
1) If anyone can advise if this is reasonable price?
2) should I do in Udon or would Bangkok be better?
Note I live 50 km after Bueng Kan and travel is a nuisance but doable.
I now feel a bit uneasy about living in a remote village and think maybe this will drive me to move to the coast near say Rayong.
I assume access to Rayong decent medical services and long term rental is a big change to my retirement life plan but after working for so long I would like to live on and enjoy for a while.
Thoughts and ideas please?

Hi all.
I have a non O retirement visa 12 month extension in Bueng Kan province.
I am thinking of moving to somewhere near the ocean (open to ideas) but wanted to know what is the immigration process to change province?
Any help or clues please?

Am in Bueng Kan province and setting up growing bean sprouts.
As we buy the seeds (tua?) bit by bit was wondering if anyone knows where to buy bulk seeds.

Thank you for the help
How would this work?
I have the 400k in bank, my superannuation is paid into Aus bank, i send or withdraw from ATM as needed.
If I send 50k per month as a standing order to use as the added payment should I set up a bank account seperate for this?
How to show it to immigration?
