Yep
Just went to
embassyconsulate and they were lovely but they did not really know that transit issue.Went to Singapore Airlines and they are not yet flying out of here but confirmed Changi transit is only with SIA group flights.
Frustrating but it is what it is!
Thank you

Dear all
I am Australian ,66 years old and still working in Vietnam, however my time has come to go back home to my wife (20 Years) and Son.
I have been stuck here for 10 months since Tet last year
I heard I should be able to get a visa based on the above (marriage and child), I have the supporting documents.
I am told for a flight I can use Jet Star to Singapore and then Singapore Airlines to Bangkok - comments on this please?
I can get a Covid test done in Vietnam and then need quarantine in Thailand for 14 days?
What other requirements do I need meet,
Any help appreciated?

Thank you so much, I need be in Thailand to help choose I think

Shows the value at least of quarantine as a detection point rather than infecting the general populace.
Maybe some value in this.
I have been locked in Vietnam since Tet Holiday (January) and we are just going through a second wave here - mainly from reopening from first restrictions too fast - try to get local tourism pushing and illegal refugees border hopping.
Vaccine may be our only chance of semi normality (6m ?)

My son will be 12 next month and needs to go to High school next school year.
We live in Ban Non Phai San - a small village 50 Km from Bueng Gan and he takes a bus daily to and from a catholic school in Bueng Gan.
This school is very good but does not offer high school so we need look at options for better schools.
Does anyone know from Udon Thani to Nakhon Phanom to Sakon Nakhon and area of any reasonable options.
We understand it may mean boarding at school but as the future is in better learning this we can consider.
Any advice appreciated
Regards

Understand your feelings, I am stuck in Vietnam - contract ends late July. And am going to retire, I am Aussie, Thai wife, one child, money in bank and house in Issan, I been here since Tet (Mid Jan) What are the conditions that will allow me to enter Thailand.
Will it be open by then as I do have an option to extend contract by 6 months

As most of the small affected farmers seem to be at Kee Yang pricing I would think they should look at the price rubber in the cup still being paid around the regions.
These are the real subsistence farmers who if lucky on a 50/50 spit are netting 10 Baht per Kg after their investment.
Decry all you like about farmers knowing the risk - I do not believe that small farmers do understand the global situation and that there needs be regulation of the collection and payment at rubber in the cup pricing.
This is regulated now but certainly not by any official channel rather by thuggery and extortion - sell to them or no one
Thoughts?

Be nice guys, Bow still has not received the money from the YL rubber compensation scheme yet!

Thanks for the help. I thought it was logical to reply at that point as the previous poster had quoted Bangkok timelines and seemed therefore to be able to support my issue
Sorry for the incovenience
I will move it to the BKK forum

Hi all
I am currently working and living in Switzerland and have my Thai wife (together 8 years, married 3 years) and son (11 months) with me - all on B permits.
We had planned before I took this position on hosting my Brother and family in Thailand next month but after 8 months to get all the Swiss residency in place have decided instead to visit them in Aus in January for about 3 weeks in Sydney.
I have looked through history and used the search function but maybe not deep enough query if the answer is already on the site
The query simply is that with us all in Switzerland as legal residents can we apply for Australian toursist visa for them from here?
All responses from people with similar experiences and with knowledge of the process appreciated
Many thanks
Greg and Bow

Anyone know where he actually is now?

I stayed there for 6 nights quite recently - good hotel. Don't know about joiner fees, but shouldn't imagine it'll be a problem so long as you booked it for 2 people.
I paid 700 a night, but the walk in rate is 2000.
Hi Super Hans
I am in Bangkok now and need a new hotel after Tuesday
How did you get the 700 Per night rate if walkin is 2000
Cheers Greg

Might be a nice thing to help by editting english tattoos for some of our Thai friends.
Rob Colsell at down under bar takes great delight in showing ANGEL's huge tattoo of her name on her lower back ANGLE nicely surrounded by flowers and hearts.
Too sad but amusing for some I suppose
