ooh sorry, and a warm welcome to the ThaiVisaForum.

  2. today, i have tested each ATM around Koh Samui (one of each bank only :D )

and i can announce to all those who want to know about the ATM's limits.

With one exception every ATM gives you max. 20'000 THB in one day.

The GSB in Nathon also offered me a maximum amount of 20'000 THB :):D (not 30'000 THB)

The exception is the Bangkok Bank, they will give 25'000 THB in one day.

  3. Someone help me out here, I thought this applies only to ATM cards from another country, not my ATM card issue by my local Bangkok Bank?????? :):D

yes sure, local ATM cards are free of fees for every transaction if you using in the same district.

(but must be the same "Changwat" where you open your account, Thailand has 76 Changwat)

Outside that area you will be charged with 10THB per transaction.

  4. As recently as this past weekend, I can confirm that both Bangkok Bank and Bank of Ayuthaya are NOT charging any fees for foreign card ATM withdrawals, so best to use these - at least for the time being.
Nonsense, they were the ones who started with it !

Never, i was yesterday on a ATM from the Bank of Ayuthaya (the yellow one)...

no information about fees on the screen, also no remarks on the receipt :) , still same as before.

The Bangkok Bank, Krung Thai & Siam Commercial Bank will show you this fees on the screen before you made a transaction (i checked already)

  5. That's great news & apparently more than 32,000 acres are free of Pests.. Long Live the Coconut Island... :D Also in the Samui Express, a " Professional Gambler " who's Father owned Buffalo's and is allegedly one of the richest Buffalo Owners on the Island, was found shot dead in Lipa Noi.. & there was silly old me thinking Gambling was illegal in this Country.. :)

    :D:D:D

two completely different themes in one thread, post-51795-1241370559.gif

or does this big rich buffalo owner saved all of our coconut trees? post-51795-1241370489.gif

  7. TOT is a very bad company.....since i remember,

the last 5 years has nothing much improved in their network.

    Same problems/service as before. :o

    But, what's about TT&T?

They sell now 3Mbit for just 590THB per month, can this be true :D:D ?

Maybe the share-ratio is about 200 customers per node.

  8. I am looking to bulk purchase around 30 sky lanterns for a private party - the big balloon type that you set light to the base block and they float off into the sky. Doeas anyone know where I can buy them & more importantly , roughly how much they cost. Thanks in advance.

... many shops at Chaweng Beachroad are selling sky lanterns.

Just go out and take a look.

  9. 220'000 THB to get (maybe) water?

An average household (2 persons) use about 10m³ water per month or 120m³ per year.

If i have water from the Thai government i have to pay about 15 THB per 1m³.

    my calculation:

    120m³ x 15 THB = 1'800 THB per year

Investment for a Deep Well 220'000 THB

    220'000 THB : 1'800 THB = 122 years :o

if i need more water (4 persons, garden, carwash)

then recalculate with 25m³ per month........ = 49 years.

please explain me what is the benefit of making a Deep Well?

Farangs can lease land in Thailand for 30 years plus extend for 30 years more. (so far i know)

Who gives me the guarantee that i will have 100% water all the time during this 122/49 years?

Thanks for some more informations about Deep Well Drilling :D

    Chayaphum, never stop to learn...

  10. Every week/month, the prices are rising, the service and friendliness there is no longer present. (only in Advertising)

Around the house it looks very unclean because so much garbage lying around. Parking can be do any where he wants,

according to the laziness or intelligence of the customer. Car park security employees were also abolished. (save staff - save money)

Last night there was no light on the main entrance from Tesco, dark...darker....black. (save light - save power - save money)

But the air conditioning works very well all the time :o:D:D

But the good news are: Tesco now open early morning at 06:00 :D , for who and why?

I was in many Tesco Lotus stores in the last 8 months in Thailand (from south to north)

but nowhere i have seen something like this in Chaweng.

    Just incredible!

    Whats next? :D

  11. "dumped the contents of a 200-litre blue plastic rubbish bin into the sea. Plastic, bottles, all kinds of crap"

What do you expect of the people here?

    T.I.T = This is Thailandstyle

No feeling for the preservation of the environment.

Such things makes me really sad.

Egotistical people who only think of the moment.

    Sad, ugly, incomprehensible, unbelievable :o:D:D

Say it as you see it mark... :D

    What? Naked P...y? :o

  13. Why buy an expensive compressor that takes up space? Just get one of those aerosol cans for temporary fixes. Fix-a-flat It's not like you ever have far to go to find a repair shop in Samui.
I carry around a can of that stuff in the truck for emergencies, but I had to get it in Bangkok as I couldn't find it on Samui (maybe it's available somewhere, though).
it's available since many month at Tesco Lotus Chaweng, 500ml Tyre Repair "Super Help" Made in Europe by www.super-help.com, Barcode 8028687015003 costs about 400thb... :o Chayaphum

checked today before 11pm at Tesco Chaweng, they sell now for only 189THB (before 359THB)

    just 3 bottles left....
