i will say it how it is......he was murdered due to the problems they were having with papa/mamasang and now its all being covered up....i dont know how they got him to the hotel room (probably used a girl) but i hope the australian embassy/press can get involved otherwise nothing will happen........its all a disgrace,and he leaves behind family here and in OZ who deserve to know the truth and hopefully get something done about it.

i have a condo at view talay1 which is in an excellent location between pattaya and jomtien, actually only about 400m from jomtien beach or a 1 minute bahtbus ride and a 5 min baht bus ride to pattaya town/nightlife.

View talay 1 is quiet at night and has a very big pool,the condo is 32 sqm and has a partial seaview, nicely furnished with flat screen tv,hot shower, you can get internet/cable easily if you pay for it, room has sofa,coffee table, wardrobe,tv cabinet,air con,fridge,micro and there are a variety of restaurants on ground floor. i was looking for 7k a month as is tastefully decorated(newly painted and expensive art just put on walls) but can negotiate a little if you gonna stay a while.

You dont get a lot for 5 to 6k even though it is low season etc...usually you get a crap room in crap location...no pool etc but you might be lucky.

Pattaya IMM told my wife that if we have everything in order then process can be sped up for 6k baht, she reduced them down to 5k... i have everything correct and they said to her that paying this fee will speed it up quite considerably and no one will come to the house to check etc...they said will be granted in days........as i have everything correct then i think i will wait.

What happened to the Platinum bike shop on 3rd road opposite exzyte disco?? has it moved or shut down........i dont wanna buy one but was interested in some parts they sell as might have been able to use them on my project.

If shut then what are all you guys doing for your warranty..wasnt it 2 or 3yrs unlimited ?? If the shop moved then let me know where it is, thanks

Cherry's is good value for the money. It just goes to show you don't have to pay a fortune to be served a good meal at a restaurant. Sometimes it gets too crowded, but that's just the sign of a successful restaurant.

Has this 'Cherry's' on Pattaya 3rd Road any connection with 'Cherry's' half way down Soi Diana?

Not sure about Soi Diana but they got one at topfloor of hotel/appartment (cant remember name) on the road behind the Avenue shopping mall but at 3rd road the boss does the cooking and its very good.

hi guys , i know this incident was almost a month ago , but when you read lies about yourself on an internet forum then i think it only fair that you get the chance to reply .

yes , i hit an individual over the head with a bottle , i did so because he was in the process of attacking me and as i was pinned against a wall , behind a table, on a seat at the time , and as i had someone to the left of me and someone to the right of me and had nowhere to go , i defended myself the best way i could with only a split second to react .

obviously i wish it would never have happened and i do regret it and feel sorry for the guy with the sore head , but it would never have happened , had he not have attacked me .

some people would have been happy if id just have let myself be assaulted , but i dont think along those lines .

it is true that myself and the other guy have not got on for a couple of years , but it is incorrect that the trouble had anything to do with any pattaya based forum as suggested by paul1970 , who is banned from our forum for shit stirring and lying (draw your own conclusions ).

it is also true that another person unconnected to me did assault the same guy as he was leaving the bar , but it is untrue once again that anyone kicked the guy at all , never mind kicked him on the head , another rumour created by paul1970 , who was not there the night in question .

in fact the guy landed 2 or 3 punches on him . now i know it doesnt make it any better , but at least you now have the truth , instead of the lies and gossip that some in pattaya are very good at creating , if they have a grudge against anyone .

now as it happens , i had quite a few friends in the bar at the time and yes they thought i was in danger and wanted to join in to help me , but anyone there will know that i went out of my way to make sure they did not get involved or do anything .

i run a good clean bar , no drugs , no weapons and no fighting , in fact this is the only 1 incident that i have ever had in 7 years of running bars in pattaya and not many bars can boast a good record like that .

i am aware of what gets said on other forums , but i am unable to do anything about that , so i dont let it bother me , im here to tell you the truth .

im disappointed in my good mate nookiebear for his comments , because he has drank in the rockhouse countless times and i know for a fact he has never seen the slightest hint of trouble in the bar before , because there has never been any .

he was there on the night , but he knows that what happened was not premeditated nor is it likely to recurr again .

it is true that the guy and myself are on talking terms , but not friendly terms and that is fine by me .

it is also true that i compensated the guy for his medical expenses , time off of work and the clothes he was wearing that night .

the guy has had an apology from me but knows that if he hadnt have been aggressive the incident would never have happened .

im not telling this story for any other reason than to put the record straight . if there is one thing in life i detest , it is liars .

i know no matter how this story comes out , it would never look good on me , even if i would have simply punched the guy to defend myself instead , but as i said if im attacked , i have the right to defend myself and i will use that right .

to finalise this comment from me , im probably the biggest victim of gossip and lies from vindictive people out of all of the pattaya based forums , (not this one ) your own torrenova (andy) for some reason only known to himself has taken to abusing me and lying about me on all sorts of forums .

ok ok lets get more facts......how did he attack you, did he have a bottle in his hand?..as you say you was defending yourself and boxed in....was it your friends on your left and right.......if you 2 dont get on then why was he drinking in your bar and you sat down together?

Wouldnt it be fairer just to say you lost your rag and bottled him than you was defending yourself.....people say you are a big guy so surely a push from you or a punch would have been fairer but if you lost your rag then you werent thinking clearly?

Well done on this being your only incident in 7 years....i had a bar in soi 8 many years ago and cant remember many nights that there wasnt an incident at my bar but then again i was serving till 6 or 7 am most days and everyone was bolloxed after being out all night at other bars/ disco etc........maybe you not as bad as they all make out......your just a big cuddly teddy bear aintcha??

Theres probably been a lot said about Cherries before on here but i think its definitely one of the best value restaurants in town ......they been running specials as well as there normal menu for a while now and all are excellent and they deserve all success they can get.

Sorry to crash in but is there any chance at all getting a non o visa without leaving thailand if im married and with a child but im on a tourist visa and dont wanna leave the country to do it so i want a non o so then i can go for the extension due to marriage......any easy options??

If you have 21 days or more remaining you can convert your visa to non immigrate at Immigration office and then extend. Cost will be 2,000 to convert and 1,900 to extend. But not all do the conversion so it might have to be done in Bangkok. If you have less than 21 days you can extend for 60 days to visit wife at an additional cost of 1,900 baht.

im just about to go extend my 2 month tourist visa( i have a double entry from lao and this is first extension ) at pattaya immigration so does that mean that as i have a month then i can try and convert to non o or do i have to wait now so that i use the 2nd entry as then have 60 days again???? anyone tried at pattaya and i thought was not allowed to do things like this outside your area or is this ok...also how long does it take ..meaning do i have to stay overnight at bangkok to get the conversion?? thanks in advance

Get a multi entry non immigrant "O" visa

i can get this without leaving Thailand??? that is the question.I know if i leave then can get a few places but was hoping Pattaya immigration might be able to help somehow....will ask them soon but thought id ask here first !!

They dont seem to have guilt about doing wrong things like the average person in the rest of the world would have, they all seem more opportunistic when it comes to money and stealing it and dont care that it effects others as long as they have what they want and even though they come from a poor background they seem not to be happy when they get more than the average....you buy them land-they want more....you buy a truck they dont even say thank you and want you to pay for anything it needs therafter including petrol!!

By "they" i mean the bad thai people and not the 1% (it feels like that!) that are normal......im not being racist as most thais i know dont trust other thais so dont give them the opportunity to do bad too much.

depends on your budget and your preference so decide whether you would like a sea view or would be happy with small garden, or maybe a big garden if you have the dough or just a cheap place to lay your head down when your visiting.

If you have the spare cash then buy as some great deals around and if you rent and only use it some weekends then doesnt seem worth it in real long term.

By the way I got a couple of cheap places still available for rent or sale. pm me if you want more info on them....might be ideal if you want safety and nearish the beach.

Yesterday i was behind a thai driving a pick up and many police were at the junction at new road and soi khao noi and he turned right and went up the road the wrong way and against the traffic and what did the police do............nothing, i think one of them glanced but they could have whistled or even got on a bike and chased him to tell him hes a <deleted> and driving dangerously or something....there was enough of them.

Tough one. Not worth going to jail over the bum. If she doesnt stand up and press charges it may be worse next time. Maybe her family doesnt know. Maybe he is a cop? If you call the police they wont do anything unless she presses charges. What happens next if you marry her and he does this? Then you have more leway but until then you cant protect and dont know the whole story. If she doesnt handle it then just let it go.

Crime in Pattaya has increased dramatically the last few years. Especially violent crime against foreigners. With the downturn in revenue we can expect much more trouble. Just check out the "prime" location Pratumnak Hill, more and more buildings and villages resort to barbed wire, high voltage security wires and more. Hardly a building that has not been burglarized at least once, more often several times. Values of real-estate are falling fast and we have not reached bottom yet.

No question that more and more people will leave, also no questions that the die-hards will keep defending their territory and paint it in pink! JL.

Pratumnak Hill was never considered "prime" buy anyone who has lived in Pattaya for any length of time...it was only market as such to newbies and other clueless buyers by the the Pattaya real estate pimps. It has always been know as a high crime area...despite the presence of a notable residence.

pratumnak, prime property? good golly. since when? after all the hypes? remember, pattaya is a sanctuary for laundered monies from around the world. it does not represent thailand at all. not an iota. heard of fools rush in where angels fear to tread? be careful. walls have ears, like they say in israel of the wailing wall. a seemingly nic neighbor may be the king-pin of all these show-downs in pattaya or chonburi where pattaya is itsd pseudo-capital. and, chonburi if you must, has the highest number of mafia-like druglords. a young thai told me the other day a life is worth in pattaya is worth no more than 20 baht - the price of a bullet. tha young thai has witnessed many other young thais - be they go-go bar dancers or runners for the drug-lords or some snooker or illegal gambling dens - be gunned down in mostly public places. are farangs aware a gun - colt or smith wesson - is sold for as cheap as 500 baht in downtown pattaya? sniff around and you will know where they are readily available.

500 baht for a smith or colt.........i dont think so........maybe a home made pen gun will sell for that but why would anyone sell a colt for 500 baht...............i dont think there is anywhere in the world where you can buy for that as you cant even buy one in USA where they are legal and in abundance and cheap and not to mention the black market puts prices up not down, they have a lot of copy guns or cheap chinese crap here and small caliber .22 and they go for 15k baht up without a book .

sorry to digress but that was way out and without going into detail but i know people who know people and the dregs that live here who can supply such things!

what if he had it taken apart and sent in bits like all the big bike shops do?........he could write out his own invoices( or get some help from his local bike shop ) for the bits and put down cheap prices then the tax/duty is not so high and when all the bits are here then put it together and pay for getting the green book done here .........surely this is cheaper than spending near 1 million baht for a newish one already here.

I dont think the Customs guys are so interested in stealing or holding up the bike parts as they too lazy to put it together when they can just steal the next one shipped in thats already whole!

everyday they seem to change what there doing......sometimes work then sometimes all flashing orange, i also seen all flashing red and was switched off altogether again at one point which actually was the best option as traffic was flowing very well. I dont know about other junctions as im just talking about khao noi. Also noticed that the one green light goes on before the other one and everyone just thought you could go and to be honest i was confused at first as to what the hel_l was going on but a lot of bikes still jump the lights as usual.

we changed to maxnet and friigin wish we hadnt....not fast and down often for no real reason...sometimes a day or two, sometimes a few hours but more often than the previous provider and now im locked in a contract, will change back after for sure and customer service &lt;deleted&gt; as passed around or held on phone for ages just for them to say a technician will ring back which they never do and then you ask for someone to come around and they come in 3 days after ringing everyday wondering where they are and by then its working again and they still use the same old excuse....rain even though it may not have rained for ages when it goes down......end of rant. When i signed up in ofice at carrefour there were people complaining about it going down.....i should have took notice and left there office !!!

House has to have:

-BIG GARDEN!!!!!!

-not more than 45 MIN ride with motorcycle to the water

-2 or 3 bedrooms

-cable or satellite

-internet would be nice

and should cost around 10000 baht + - 3000 baht
