  1. Technically, the ATM must allocate the requested amount in the first step before it can be paid out. This allocation will remain on the account until the money has been paid out. If now, for example, the power goes down, the booking can not be completed. The requested money stays reserved for this ATM for a certain time.

Your bank knows the difference between allocation and payout. And also, that a reservation from an ATM should be followed by a payout within seconds. Therefore, the bank is willing to delete the reservation, if you ask a few days later.

  2. I've renewed my driving license yesterday in Pattaya. Well prepared with doctor's certificate, but they returned it to me - not required. Color blind test, reaction test and this test where you have to align two bars was made. And then one full hour of watching a video about street situations. Because I arrived short before 10 o'clock by chance, I can't say anything about a time window.

  3. I have been jailbroken for a year now and have over $5000.00 worth of free apps and tweaks including TomTom for 6 different countries.

    is that legal? smile.png

If you want to use free apps, you don't have to jailbreak your phone. You are using illegal copies of commercial programs. You are a thief!Do not get caught!

It's great fun watching how openly here will be discussed about illegal activities.

  4. These days i got a PayPal transfer to my Thai bank over 16,482.16 THB. Exactly this sum including the 16 Satang on my bank statement at Kasikorn. No fees at Kasikorn, no fees at PayPal.

The only drawback is that PayPal sends Baht. And the exchange rate is worse than in Thailand. And the transfer takes 7 days.

I am using my PayPal account for years and had no problems at all. Is there a better way to collect money worldwide?

  5. For a dictionary project I'm searching for a Thai speaker. Ideal is a well educated man or higher class student with a good voice, who can read single Thai words even fom Pali and Sanskrit with minimal rural accent.

In the first stage we have to record about 6,000 words from printed lists for urgent needs. Later we have another 100,000+ Thai words to read one after another.

I'm also searching for a professional studio for these recordings.

If you know suitable people for this job and/or a studio in Pattaya, please PM me.

  6. Non Immigrant Visa are only available for one Entry or for multiple Entry. I don't know about a NI Visa with 3 entries!

A multiple Non Immigrant Visa is valid for one year, but the first entry must be within 90 days from the date of issue. With this visa you can enter Thailand as often as you want within one year and get a 90-day permission of stay at each entry. Additional feature: If you enter Thailand on the last day of the validity - one year after the date of issue - you'll get another 90 days beyond the validity of the visa!

If your visa clearly states three entries then I suppose it is a Tourist Visa. A two or three entry Tourist Visa is valid for 180 days only. But you can enter Thailand on the last day of the vaidity and will get another 60 days even this is beyond the validity of the visa.

You got the visa around 10/07/2010? In this case it is valid until 10/01/2011. Another indication for a Tourist Visa.

Something is wrong with your statements, so it's not clear which type of visa you got. But be careful: If it is a Tourist Visa and you got 90 days, then the Immigration Officer made a mistake. In this case you have to go to the next immigration office in order to correct that.

  7. If somebody ask me, If I`m feeling good or not, I tell him "Yes I'm fine" and now I want to know if he is also feeling good. I use แล้วคุณล่ะ. At Thai-Language I find this with and also แล้วคุณละ without Mai Eek. It is only a small difference in speaking. But on Pimleur's Thai course they teach "laeo khu la" instead, without the "n"-sound of "khun" and with a low tone on "la". What is the right form? And how to write the "laeo khu la"?

  8. However, the OP has dropped out of this discussion, which is why I still think it should be closed. It is too much of a draw for the Chunky's of the world.

The OP is still watching this topic. But what can I answer "the Chunky's of the world"? They are always feeling right.

Now, the funny part is... we copy the ID and take photos of every Thai who enters our house who is there due to a job. They know we have this info and they STILL try to break in. We give the info to the police and their companies afterwards, nothing ever happens to them, though they are never successful with their break-in.

I took photos when they came two days before. The boys know that. Actually there is only one useful photo. I give it to the police. And nothing happens.

Today I want to go to Sunnee Plaza to eat my favourite Yam Nuea at Song Khwae restaurant. And If I see one of the bad boys, I'll ask em to buy back what they have stolen.

  9. It looks like there is more to this story and OP is not being completely honest. I hope the police investigate the OP about why underage male prostitutes know where he lives.

Is that the most important question for you? And the police should not investigate the housebreaking unless this question is answered?

I never took underage boys to my house! Somebody followed me from Sunnee to my home. And then he brought the boys to my house. After that, the boys came together with other boys, because they got a few Baht for a meal. Is this not a comprehensible expanation for the question, why underage boys know where I live?

  10. The Boys know my home. One of the adult behind this boys has brought them to my home last year. The guys have offered me their services, but I have not been used. Never. Later they returned and brought other boys to my home. Therefore more boys know me than vice versa. Unfortunately, I have them sometimes given smaller amounts of money so they could buy something to eat.

Why the adult know my home? He must have followed me from Sunnee to my home. I don't know.

  11. The young boys of Sunnee Plaza (Pattaya) are dangerous in several ways. As I know now they are organized with adult men in the background. If they find customers then the adults will follow to the home of the customer and blackmail him, becaus the boys are below 18. And in bad times with no customers, they go to the homes of known farangs and ask for money.

So with me on last Saturday. Two boys ring on the early morning.

But I didn't open the door. Then they was climbing over the fence and went around the house, looking in every window. Then I heard they working on my bedroom window, trying to open it. At this point I realized that it is no good idea to do nothing. I took my camera and went outside to take some pictures. Then the boys run away.

Unfortunarely the pictures are not good, but one of the boys is identifiable.

Two days later I left the house on the early afternoon, about 2 o'clock. At return two houres later I found my house broken in. The bedroom window was taken out and my McBook and other small electronics where stolen. Worth alltogether about 70.000 Baht.

I called the police. They seemed not to be very interested. As I showed the picture of one of the boys two days earlier, they called another group of two police officers. All the questions again, but no special actions. They took no fingerprints. I handed over a printout of the picture and later I had to go to Banglamung police station to draw up the minutes.

Now, thee days later, I've heard nothing from police. I was expecting they catch the boy quickly and ask me to identify him.

If they catch him, I'm prepared to be charged by him for sexual assault. But I never touched this boy - absolutely not!

Does anybody has experience in cases like this? And what can I do if they charge me? They can't have any evidence, only the statement of the boys as an act of revenge.
