IMHO you can’t get wrong with Emirates A380. Great service and awesome lounges in Dubai.

i enjoy Turkish for the food and the lounge in Istanbul is top .

i used to fly Finnair a lot because they were true cheaper . Good A 340 butvyhe food is not great.

All jave flat beds. 

AAvoid Thai by all means and don’t go for a low cost you will be very disappointed .

I have a friend who after being in an hospital in Chiang Rai has just been transferred to Bangkok at Rajavithi, which is, from my understanding, a good hospital.

However, since it is not her registered hospital, she will have to pay and is an in-patient. She is afraid that if the staff see her with a farang, they may increase her fees.

As you know there are very few beaches on the east coast.

I stayed at Ban Thalai Thai , around 20 mns from the ferry . A very decent beach with nice villas,  Lavender villas, you can rent on Airbnb. Quite secluded so better to go with a car.

Difficult to see turtles in Thailand and close to Bangkok no way.

You may want to try the Similian but quite a trip to go there.

As mentioned by many, Koh Tao is a great island for scuba diving and diving. Corals, fishes and and black tip reef sharks.

Personnaly, I haven't see any turtle in Thailand but in Malaysia : Perhentians.

I went to Hong Islands last week. 300 bahts entrance fee. All the beaches were crammed, so not sure why boa operators could complain.

This two-tiered pricing is just another bribe. Most of the money don't go to the Park but to the so-called officers. 

Some boat operators include the entrance fee in their fares (like mine), some don't.

In any case, no one did get a ticket from the Park and our boat operator did not even went to the Park booth when we arrived on Hong.

I always rent with Sixt. They have the old (but still very good) VIOS for 999 bahts a day. I always add the CDW for an extra 200 bahts.

I agree> Isao is a great place with some quite creative maki. But sometimes, particularly on weekends, you may wait for 30 minutes to get a seat.

In the mood for love on Ekkamai has also superb sushi in a very nice setting. A bit expensive however.
