THanks for all the comments. I also took photos of these cracks which go around the house on the outside on the same side where that termite nest is. I dont know if its them causing this. But theres also cracks high up in one of the photos. What do you think?
The photos do not look like anything to do with termites.
I think the photos are all for concrete. But the last two may have a rendered surface
Photo 1 looks like it may have originally been a defective joint that was likely cleaned out and repaired.
Assuming it is concrete then likely it was a horizontal joint. Cracks do not usually form so clearly in a line.
You can see the repair by the difference in the surface. The repair mortar area has cracked and needs making good.
It does not look very good but could be superficial. Clean out a bit and it should be possible to judge.
Photo 2 and 3 a bit unusual. Look like shrinkage cracks, but nearly along lines. Do not look like formed joints. More likely joints in the layering of the concrete. Poor compaction. Cracks form along the weak areas at the surface.
The dark area looks like it could be a small area of corrosion that needs repairing.
Photo 4 look like simple very small shrinkage cracks due to poor curing and protection.
Photo 5 definitely looks like its where there is a horizontal joint. The cracks formed in the surface look likely to be large enough for capillary action from water on the surface to cause corrosion. They should be cleaned out and made good. Possibly a small horizontal notched cut out could be made to clear the bad area and make good. -

Termites don't cause cracks, they just exploit them to go where the crack leads to.
Yes, they also chew into into them which will open them up a bit more
That's not so good in reinforced concrete where there may be more chance of it leading to corrosion if the reinforcing is near the surface.
I cannot see much evidence of corrosion on the pictures, except in the corner on photo 3. The dark patch.- 1

Will not damage the house structure . They will eat the door frames , skirting boards etc
Agree its vey unlikely they will damage any of the structure concrete and steel, or proper hardwood.
However don't just look for evidence in wood. That's what I used to think until I saw what they can do to grout joints in tiles and some items that had a grouted or cement surround.- 2

Looking at your photo again, the brick joints on your photo look reasonably good.
But could have been cleaned and patched up since the termites had originally been there.
If the termites were still around I would have thought here should have been some evidence there. -

Termites do not only attach wood.
They also chew out grout and weak concrete. You have to look for the telltale signs of eating into wood and for Grout (loose or missing)
On the second picture below, the termites had chewed into the grout joints in the shower floor. Its been cleaned up but you can see the grout is missing.

Under review and could change soon
I understand that review and update was done yesterday and published over night. Go to the UK website and it shows who goes from Amber to Red, red to Amber etc. "Updated 4 August". Thailand has no change indicated yet,
However best to wait until end of today, so that you can be sure.- 1

HI Mac
You need to check what flights there are from CNX first.
I think most are cancelled and only a few local flights may be left (if any)
So you most likely have to go to Bangkok.
Also note that from 8th August you should be able to fly through Qatar and UAE.
UK rules just changed so they go onto Amber. Then no hotel quarantine is required in Uk, but still the self isolation.- 2

That might be interesting if, for example, you have an account in Thailand which you use for "holidays" in Thailand.
Especially if the Thai bank has NO address details on file for you. Mentioning for a friend, of course ????
If they have no contact information, then may be best to ensure that there is not much money there when you leave each time. Just in case they freeze/lock the account.
As can happen for accounts that have not been used for a very long period of time.
Happened to an old account that I had not used a long time.
I wanted to keep its records of currency brought in for condo purchase.
But, i managed to get it unlocked after giving appropriate proof they wanted. -
This could create some debate.
It seems a bit silly. What happens if somebody tests positive?
Does everybody on the aircraft (potential contacts) have to go into Quarantine at the other end.
Would it not be better to insist a test is taken at the airport before people board the plane instead of the 72 hours currently being used?
However the 72 hours at least gives you some chance to postpone the flight.
If its immediately before the flight then you presumably cannot fly and will lose your flight.

Interestingly, Thailand escaped being put on the UK red list, which I am sure is a relief for any actual tourists in Phuket right now who have to return to the UK. Mexico, Iran and Georgia(?!) were put on it, and India(?!) is going to be taken off it.
Yes, see post below. Qatar and UAE will be moved to Amber list on 8th.
So people going to UK will be able to fly through there without needing to go into hotel Quarantine.

As mentioned, on previous threads about CRS, Thailand still has to enable internal legislation to actually undertake this and I haven't seen any notice of that happening - have you?
Also it is going to affect the Thai's with big money as much, if not more than, expats unless avoiding paying their home country tax man.
Be interested to see if anybody has any more recent information.
The first step that should be readily identified is that the banks / financial institutions here will need to send you a notice for you to provide the CRS declaration for details and confirmation of tax residency.
That is what happened for the accounts I held in other countries. It happened when implementation was beginning.
There was then a period of time for a second and third notice which by then warned that you may not be able to use the account if the details are not provided. The financial institution is legally bound to provide it. -
At yesterday Thailand made it to number 11 worldwide for new cases.
Still looks like its going to get worse and may be into the top 10, but a long way to go to first place.
Lets hope it peaks soon.

In Bangkok many use Medconsult for covid PCR. 2600 baht now. Good service. I used them before going to UK.

The text states which countries will move to amber list.
It will now be possible to fly to UK via UAE or Qatar without hotel quarantine.
I checked the UK rules website and it shows the planned change.https://www.gov.uk/guidance/red-amber-and-green-list-rules-for-entering-england
Note, also that Thailand stays amber. It has not moved to red (yet) as some media in UK was suggesting might happen. -

More BS as the situation deteriorates.
If i am correct even the UK only managed average about 500, 000 to 600,000 doses a day. Peak about 800,000 for short periods.
Most developed countries can only achieve at peak about 1 dose per 100 people in population ( usa included) ie 700,000 here.
1m a day, Pure fantasy.

I'm not suggesting it's a good idea. But it's quite simple. Not easy, though. And pretty stupid, IMO. When there's so many infected people anyway.
Should it not apply both ways?
Its so easy, stop all business and trade. See what the consequences are then. Are these kind of draconian restrictions going to end it when it is already so far spread.
Many provincial markets are being closed.
So Thai people work hard to produce and then they cannot sell. Where is that going to get things.
There may be more people dying soon due to the consequences of this than from the disease itself.- 10

I suppose you should not have to worry much about Bangkok Covies, based on my observation.
Beach road in Jomtien was fairly empty when I left there for BKK at 5pm Saturday.Normally on a holiday weekend it would be packed. So where were they?
And there was very little traffic heading from Bangkok on the motorway.
There was clearly more traffic going towards Bangkok.

And the other 33% are for whom?
Do the Maths please.
It is the clowns counting again, just like the 10 million AZ that AZ said was only about 6 million on the order.33% dark red / red, 10% other red zones, 15% other 48 provinces.
This is 58%. What happened to the other 42%.
Perhaps that's the part that's not actually been ordered.
6 / 10 = 40% not available.

I do not know about Chiang Mai, but you will be lucky to find much in Bangkok.
Can other people please add comment from experience. Its likely that many people have tried to find some.1250 is a rip off.
And Twelve 6mg pills will only give you one treatment which is for 3 or 4 days according to the dosages stated on medical websites that provide information relating to Covid.- 1

Based on the stats - of 403,386 cases and 3,341 fatalities, there is 0.005% of covid amongst Thailand 7.5m population and a death rate 0.0008 % of those infected... ?? Is this true?
No. Figure out the numbers and how to do the maths.
70 m population.
Infected 0.6 %
Death when infected 0.8 %.
When you consider the lack of testing and suppression of reporting, the numbers are likely to be at least 5 to 10 times that number.
Its likely to get nearer that as the sitiuation is now clearly beyond hiding.

Thailand doesn't need large gatherings at this time.
If the Government have been so irresponsible and selfish in their own agenda , should they not be locked up.

My guess is that they are only starting this because somebody has spotted an opportunity.
$$$$.Why the delay when they have been saying that its being done. Why not do it? do it?? do it.???
Just like importing Moderna vaccine.
Could it be months until they agree how much they cost.
And the other most important details are (a)greed.

I had to go my actual branch.
From what I can recall, I think the bank book and the passport was enough. Had an ATM card that already could not be used. I did not need another at the time. Just wanted to keep the account open for records with a small amount in it.
I needed the old passport last used on the account and my new passport.
There was a form to complete and sign. Not much on it.
And a small fee to pay.
Also needed to change address and provided utility bill as proof. That was an extra, probably not essential.
