  1. .

When I first started watching football as a lad, the great Bill Foulkes worked down the mine all week and turned out for Man Utd on Saturday - not sure that Rio would be up for it.

In my lifetime, top class players wages have gone from too little, to, too much.

Where will it all end I wonder ?

I still have my grandfathers medals from the 1914 - 1918 Sh*t Fight.

Whilst he survived, most of his mates didn't.

It was always a sombre day with Grandad.

He never trusted the landed aristrocracy ever again but he and his mates were never

    going to be called cowards.

To All Those Brave Lads & Lasses........with the going down of the sun....

    we shall remember them.

eh ? Where's Chester come from Ken...I know it's not far from the Wirral but :D

I was one of those kids that brought home a bird with 2 broken wings, a half squashed frog etc and hoped they would live - consequently I have even been known to holler for Wrexham, I love a good lost cause................. :bah:

You're not a closet Welshman are you?

Ken's having an identity crisis.....that Aussie sun has got to him :D

I must admit never meeting a Scouse , welsh , Aussie before :D

There's no crisis in being a "Mongrel" :bah:

The first foreign language I spoke was Welsh (after Scouse that is) and having grandfathers both Mancunian & Hertfordshirian and cos I had a bent for accents I can talk Levensulme and Norff London, throw in about 5 holidays in Scotland and you start to get some idea of the mixed breed I am.............and this was even before I started my nomadic life :D

My Dad used to call on Tom Finney and his plumbing business in the late 50's, hence an eye is kept on P.N.E. now and then, there are a few more but you don't want this old Heinz 57 boring you to death......... :o

  5. Hello Possums,

Sorry to leave you for a week or so, I had to do the annual Visa run to Perth (W.A.).

The nights were a tad chilly to start with (7 degrees) on the Sunday when I left the max was 30 :o

Ken, out of interest. Which is the best part of Aus for the climate. i.e. no cold

And to keep on topic. C'mon the Dale :D

Geez MrBJ, that's a super curly one.

I have toured to bl**dy near every City and town thoughout Oz as a Technician/Tour Manager/Stage Director and if you like it Hot all year round Indonesia/Thai Style then Cairns or Far North Q/Land is the spot - but it's a bl**dy long way from anywhere.

I always reckoned that Northern NSW, (about an hour's drive inland from the coast), was God's own country, warm days cool nights and never cold winters and one is still within striking distance of Brisbane and Sydney. I could probably do a thesis on this so if you really want to know more please feel free to P/M me.

...Meanwhile back on topic, C'mon Chester........... :D
