1- The story of this Karr guy has nothing to do with his teacher-in-Thailand status.

2- Newspapers quote today that, maybe, this guy is NOT guilty, just pathological liar. By the way, as a nuts guy, he's better in his country than in a Thai school.

The reaction of the Thai authorities is so far from the problem that it's difficult to believe it's just a misunderstanding. They are not so stupid (!?!?).

Probably they take advantage of this case to announce new rules that they would have implemented anyway.

Or it's just that they don't like to hear on CNN on a 24 hrs basis that the Karr guy was in Thailand.

Or it's a against-Taksin-measure, as it's a tendency since a few month. Taksin wanted more and more foreign teachers in Thailand. If authorities tighten the rules, it will be impossible to follow Taksin instruction and, one more time, he'll be humiliated by the administration of his own country.

Browsing through True's website I noticed that the difference between the 512 package and the 1024 is only 140 baht excluding vat! Now I have two questions, will it really make a difference upgrading, at the moment I get on average about 350kps, would this mean that I would now get 700kps? Secondly are upgrades easy to do, or does one have to go through the whole nonsense of signing a new contract and having people pook around? Thanks in advance!

Almost worthless. Thinking that I'm paying about 2000 baht for a 4096/512 package and I never reached more than 2300kbps I am contemplating with the ideea of downgrading it to a 2048/512 package, but I'm scared that than I will only get half of the speed (1024/512) .

I have the 1024 kbps package now and I receive only 100 kbps from Europe in the afternoon, 300 in the morning and some times more at night. I have always at least 900 kbps within Thailand.

You mention 2300 kbps when you pay for 4096 kbps. It looks a very good rate to me IF it's with overseas. I'd sign right away. Now, if it's within Thailand it's upsetting.

Please clarify if you receive 2300 from overseas or from next door.

In the long run the one year extension will cause you the least hassle,

but it is not a requirement.

If you plan on doing visa runs, get the multi-entry O based on your marriage, then you only need to do the border run every three months.

I have this kind of one year Visa O needing a stamp every 3 months.

Am I oliged to cross a border OR any immigration office inside the country can stamp?

Actually, I know these guys (John and M. Scobble, not the Italian one, cf BKK Post), well I didn't meet them since 3 years but I guess they didn't change. They are gentlemen. The fourth one, M. D. who had not been cought is an ass hole but respects also all the laws of all the countries. None of them is in young boys and they are very prude and cautious. By the way, the BBKPost writes there is nothing against them.

They had this business since 7 years and received already thousands of tourists(by the way, gays). If they had provide underage boys or even boys, do you think they would still be at large? If you knew M. Scobble, you even could not imagine him cross the street out of the pedestrian crossing. He's always thinking about paying his taxes and all.

Now what is very possible is that they had been framed: a staff of them making a mistake if sollicitated by a fake customer (a ###### Aussie policeman playing at a sex maniac who could have ask some thing special to a local guide).

The found magazines are a joke. I don't know if they have, read or enjoy them but I'm sure they have not more than the average Thai or farangs. I was waiting in a an office recently where the idle young female secretaries was watching HARD porno with some interest. At 10:00 and in front of every body.

By the way, the fares they indicate are wrong (500 bt instead of 1900 for the additionnal 10 days and 100 Bt instead of 200 for a one day overstay).
