  1. You probably already know this, so forgive me if this is old news. But your visa extension on your visa run will only be for 15 days.

Hi Bonobo, luckily I have a Mulit Non O, so another 90 day stamp :o . Anyone with any good advice on visa run companies out of Pattaya? Any good reports or recommendations please? ta in advance for any feedback! :D

  2. Alright fellas, not sure if this needs to go in the Pattaya forum apologies if so, Just wondered if there are any organised visa run services that leave from Pattaya and pass by Rayong on the way to Cambodia (Daung) Border please? I am in Ban Phe, Rayong which isnt too far from Pattaya and wondered if anyone would be kind to advise to visa run companies in the Pattaya area. Thanks in advance for any pointers, best DSG :o

  3. Your local village will have an "expert". They may eat the dam_n things but you can be sure they will be taken away.

I think there is a nest under the concrete patio at the back, however I managed to kill the babies (sorry for my sins :D ) however I am a little worried the mother may come back for vengeance! :D Should I purchase an Amulet anytime soon??? :o .......... :D

  4. I've found 2 rather large Banded Krait snakes living at my backdoor under some plastic bags we use for gardening, a bit of research proves them quite nasty and I wondered if anyone could advise on how to get rid of them without being aggresive. I have some pictures I will upload soon, they are a dark greeny black colour with yellow stripes and are apparently very poisonous, the venom is 16 times that of the Cobra. I have heard that they dont like lemon juice/powder but this could be a myth I dont know? Anytips please? I am jst scared that they will get in the house with the weather becoming colder, thanks for any feedback in adv.

  5. It is possible that the Thai people 'tutting' was an outward display of disapproval of you the 'farang' and your thai lady, I have had this several times however I just try to ignore their small uneducated racist minds. On the other hand it could be that those tutting possibly had sweetcorn stuck in their teeth and were simply trying to remove it (ok possibly not!)

just ignore them and smile, they are just Thai.

    :o DSG

By all means, do ignore them because they are "just Thai" and "uneducated and racist too " !!

Read your own posting again, you western superior thinking idiot !

Go home to where you came from, to your superior country where everybody is ofcourse educated to incredible high levels, but now try to take some lessons in social education, you absolutely do need them.

YOU are the racist here !

Idiot and fool? wow you big bully! :D Just because I am western and superior, you think I'm an idiot? Hold on a minute, are you Thai? lol

  8. Depending on how it's pronounced,** "Goy" is a vulgar name for penis. Therein lies the joke--and yes, the joke was on you.

The girls' nickname is close enough to produce a lot of double-entendre jokes (actually triple-entendre jokes, if you include the "little finger" imagery).

**Here's how to differentiate the sound:

Girls' nickname: "gaw-wy" -- sounds like two syllables; (over-emphasize what looks like the diphthong--for you linguists)

Vulgarism: "goi" just like it looks; one syllable (under-emphasize the diphthong)

I'm sure there are some tone variations as well, but getting the syllables/diphthongs correct will steer you away from unintended slips of the tongue.

hmmmm, yeah I was kinda hoping it wasnt vulgar! Oh well, I guess the baa nork mother in law has done it again! I wouldnt really expect anything intelligent to come from her mouth anyway! Thanks for the insight! :o

  9. Little Finger? Not sure it's used for nicknames though. You would know the relevance, if any.

wow fast reply shotime thanks! Yeah I got the same translation, I also found something relating to King Rama V era with regard to race, I'm at a loss with it anyhow but thanks for reply!

  10. bit of a strange one this, we were chatting to my wifes mother talking about nicknames/ names in thai for my wifes soon to be born baby, she mentioned some names and then joked nong goy, I asked jokingly what it meant and felt like the joke was on me! (yes I should take time to understand thai language better!) any of you fellas with thai wifes who can ask what 'goy' or 'gouy' means, I have looked it up in my dictionary and online but found nothing, anyone who knows what it can mean, if anything..... :o

ta in advance for any feedback! :D

  14. SJ. obviously many things escape you "I am not authorized to answer".

Fair enough you're not authorized... that's been the standard reply from other farang volunteer cops. What escapes me is WHY such a simple question is so difficult for ANYONE to answer it. To unnecessarily shroud such seemingly open questions doesn't do much for much for recruitment, but so be it.

It's probably the standard reply, as in reality they do not have the work permit or exemption letter for tourist police work. Correct me if I am wrong?
