I'm just here to read the angry comments from the retirees who also can't afford to retire in their own country but feel they have a god-given right to retire cheaply in Thailand and will complain like there's no tomorrow if they have to pay more than they did 10 years ago for something.

P.s. I've heard the Philippines is nice this time of year...

There is never a good time to visit the PI, unless you like the rough side of life and guns! ????

800k might be ok, but committing to living in Thailand is something one should avoid at all costs. You never know when some event makes it inhabitable.

One leg out the door with plan B,C and D in the pocket is the way to go.

I saw this one coming a long time ago.....was on Plan E at the time....lucky me.....and it will only get worse.....????

What he's drinking is a bitter cup of heavy sarcasm.

In the happy case that you've missed his copious and frequent whining, count yourself blessed. He's spent the last few days gloating over imminent quick exit from Thailand and, in his own words, "finding the guts" do it.

He mistakenly believes that the rest of us are in denial about living here, are miserable, but can't admit it to ourselves because we've not the intestinal fortitude he has.

He's wrung about as much drama out of it as he can, even coyly teasing us about the hidden Shangri-la he's destined for post haste. As if anybody cares.

Now if he would just find the "guts" to shut up and move on, I for one, would be thankful.

Whoa, goes easy there....take a chill pill, relax and live your life....and be thankful....????

  5. Try living near that nightmare.....I tried, but same crap everyday finally got the best of me and my little sanity....called 'er quits a few months back and never looked back.....it will only get worse...believe me....????

You will need to upload a copy of the ID and the Capone program immediately accepts or rejects it as the programs scan the ID and bucks it against some database for confirmation/approval.    A CapOne human (CSR) cannot approve whatever document you upload....only their computer can approved it.  The CapOne human can see what you upload and what you upload may be crystal clear on their end but if for some reason their computer has a hard time OCRing/scanning the doc it will not give an approval. So, be sure to be in good lighting (preferable daylight lighting) to get the best scan.   I had this issue....their computer kept "not approving" my uploaded US passport although the CapOne rep said it looked perfectly clear on their end...the rep just recommended I get a very good picture with no reflections off the glossy US passport....I finally got a good picture and their magic computer approved the ID.  You will be given three tries for a good scan/upload....if you can't get their computer to accept your ID after three tries you get locked out...but call Capone...explain what happened and they send you another link via email to try scanning again...they will even stay online as you try again.

Wow, can believe this story....when my ATM card was blocked here in Thailand had to use this method....took several tries over several days to get the darn computer to like my ID photos....royal pain on the arse! ????
