  1. The Royal Thai Survey Department used to make very good and detailed cartographic maps of Thailand, scale 1:50,000 if I’m not mistaken. And there were several bookshops in Bangkok and Chiang Mai where you could buy those maps. The website of the RTSD has been unavailable for many months, though, and I’m not sure you can still buy RTSD maps in any book shop.
Does anyone know where/how I can get my hands on the RTSD maps of Koh Chang? I believe one map covers most of the island, and the other one covers the southernmost strip plus most of the islands south of Koh Chang.

I’m a bit of a map aficionado, to put it mildly, and I especially love good and very detailed cartographic maps. I’m thinking of spending next winter (2025/26) on Koh Chang, and having a good map of the island would be quite essential for me.

Any and all help/advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Probably because in one of his speeches in 1940 Hitler made a peace offer to Britain to end the war in Western Europe.

If that comes out it could hurt the established narrative.

If you think Hitler could have been trusted making that peace offer, you’re deluded. Hitler had been building a war machine and a propaganda machine for years, and the only thing he was interested in was going to war, creating a huge German empire and getting revenge for ‘Versailles’. That, and killing all the Jews. And everyone else he viewed as his enemy. Which was pretty much everyone who didn’t agree with him. Hitler was a horribly evil man, who was willing to destroy everyone and everything by all means possible to achieve his goals.

As for peace treaties and if Hitler could be trusted: remember the German - Soviet non aggression pact of 1939? And remember who broke that, less than two years later, by invading Russia?

I'm pretty sure the rhetoric of "orange man bad"  "threat to our democracy"  "must be stopped at all costs" has led to 2 (possibly 3) assassination attempts, and that rhetoric is not coming from Trump and his acolytes, pay attention  yourself !

This is what you posted in another thread, about Alex Jones:

Alex Jones did not kill anyone  or call for anyone to be killed....all he did/does is voice his opinions...despite despots as per yourself calling for the removal of his (everyones)  free speech...not realizing that once his free speech is removed  yours will be too...”

So what happened to free speech? Or does that only apply to right wing loonies like Alex Jones?

So people warning against Trump because they see him as a threat to democracy (have you read ‘project 2025’?) or just as a vile human being (he’s a convicted felon, among other things) is rhetoric now? Since when is telling the truth rhetoric?

Trump and Vance, on the other hand, push all kind of crazy conspiracy theories, like Haitians eating cats and dogs, and all immigrants coming into the US being rapists and murderers. Now that is hateful rhetoric.
