  1. I have a Non O Multiple entry with one year validity which I got first time when I showed my Land Lease agreement and e few weeks back for just showing my Chanote for my new Condo in BKK which was below 10 mio Baht. A sales contract would do also. It was given by the Honorary Consulate in Essen in Germany. It is not uncommon practice as you do invest money in the kingdom. I am below 50 of ageand single. Phone with consulate before going there makes sense.

  2. I do not believe anything reported about MSG beeing harmless that especially come from the US as the food industry is not interested in any proper research. This industry is extremly powerful. In the US the industries and therfore money rules everything MSG does cross the blood brain barrier and therefore could also be responsible for e.g. Parkinsons Desease. Read about it in Wiki....not a lot to read...read between the lines...

  3. ....and User Carthago.... is right...I have experienced 50+ Farangs approaching 23 to 30 year old Thai friends of mine in a night club asking them 'how much' and it not happened only once....also a 60 and 40 year old are of different generation for sure but of course habe some sort if experience but often you find here 40 to 60 year old guys with 20-30 year old dors not matter boy or girl...all similar....

  4. @morpho: I think you forgot a lot to tell about your country, a lot....As an American you have no reason, but no reason at all to point your finger at anybody in this world....I am German and I am surely not proud of what happened in my country in tne past and buy the way 'he' was not elected by the people....please be careful what you publicly state as this is quite a bit more complex issue...however it is not the issue here so why are you getting polemic(?).... I do consider my country being civilized though I have to think about whether I would call the USA civilized because sometimes I have mydoubts e.g. in several states you still have death penalty which in my opinion is not civilized, to me it is barbaric....I feel that is something Europe did overcome ages ago....it is a question of humanity...and looking at all the morons in the US going on about Jesus, Christianty and so on...get real...just only a few thoughts into the round...you know....

I not expect people that think death penalty is the right punishment understand the principle of humantiy and being civilized...actually to understand a bit about Buddhismn that will teach you (I mean the real one)....

  5. I am happy to come from a civillized country and I am happy that in my country people are put jail once the are convicted a crime. This article does not really implement a 'crime' apart from maybe having been a false police man and he having some porn on his computer or similar and even that unclear. So why again someone here probably claiming that he may come from a civillized country want to put someone in jail first, why want the guy in question to be treated in uncivillized way? Maybe some people here lived to long in some strange environment....Do not get me wrong...I am not supporting people that do molest children...but again be appropriate...peadophile people I consider sick and they need treatment...unfortunately it not take a lot of effort form them in some parts of Thailand to be successful.

  6. I am actually shocked how some people being born in civilized countries here comment....not to say I am disgusted....I do not agree on people having sex with kids but that does not mean that I would use barbaric means to stop such person....some of you should think before they post In my opinion.....but in some instances there maybe nothing there to think with....

However the whole issue is much, much more complex and paedophilia is considered to be an illness in some countries. In some countries it is even part of the culture e.g. Japan. But as I said a complex issue.

What puts me off with this kind of reports is that it is always the bad farang doing such bad things (wether this guy really did something 'bad' nobody of us knows by the way it does not say in the article and having porn for me is nothing bad about). As someone said before in Thailand u find quite few, quite disgusting things which are never reported about. Such things cannot be found to the extend in western countries.

  7. Gold always has had a value and will always have a value. There also is some fascination with it so there is some psychological thing to it as well. Anyway when you talk to people that have been through WW2 here in Germany u get a better understanding of it that only people that had property, silver, gold and valuable belongings could start easy after the war. Also during the hard times to the end of the war and after it did ease their lives. However I think gold should be seen as a hedging instrument and not so much for speculation. If you live in a Eurozone or USD zone it maybe worthwhile to hold this against ur cash. Only buy when u have acces money and never buy for speculation because we all sit in the backrow and can never guess where the market turns because it is heavily influenced. It is a kown secret that governments try to suppress the gold price because they have not interest in high gold prices as this means people loose trust in paper money. Also once u understand how paper money works and is 'created' most people would be shocked and disgusted. It is quite a complicted construction. Paper one day may come back to its value which is nothing. Loads of problems still with the financial sector, no probs solved in Europe and not in US either. The slow erosion in the western world does continue and will continue and there is many signs of it. That decline cannot be stopped anymore I believe. Buy gold and also silver when it comes down, maybe one day in particular silber maybe helpful to buy some bread at least here in Europe.

  8. a good question, why do people not upgrade their houses with new technologies which are on t he market for 10 years already, meaning Solar Power, LED lights and also start to build decently (insulation) etc....nobody here wants to spent extra money of course and electricity is to cheap. I live on a hill and I have all this and electric is expensive here well which serves as an incentive. But by the end of the day it would still be cheaper to pay for the electric however it has to do with the point of view. In my country we use all this technology for mayn years and our education is going towards that direction. If we continue treating our environment like we do it will deteriorate more and more and quicker and quicker....just watch the recnet weather changes all over the planet...it starts all at the individual.....think about it

  9. Hi@all,

as all of you have some sort of Visa and some experience in Samui, where things are sometimes handled in a different way, I would like to know whether anybody ever tried or asked an immigration officer whether he could extent a normal Non Im O - M Visa by 90 days so no Visa run is neccessary? In theory that should be possible. Apart from that there is the 365 day O-A Visa. Does anybody know what the healthcertificate needs to have included?

    Thanks
