Hi All,
Looking for advice on areas not far outside Chiang Mai (ring road, etc, not in buffalo town) that offer for sale bungalow properties (2, 3 bed). Obviously with the standard security guard on alert etc. Looking to pay around 2 million. Searched alot of areas on the net, but after already buying property in Thailand before I feel these sites are over pricing for what is on offer.
Not expecting a palace but in a reasonable area, newish with garden would be nice.
Any ideas welcomed.
Thanks All

Hi All,
I understand the above, are there any other documents required for this extension as Ministry of Foriegn Affairs seems to want alot for getting a new one! I am married as I stated but not over 50, so means I can only apply for the Non O Visa Multi entry ...what docs are needed for this in BKK and KL for new or extension..
Any links welcomed.
Thanks All

Hi All, so just to clarify the following options:
* Visa expires, no chance of extension.
* New Non O visa multi entry, show money in the bank 40k (can only show online statements).
* Go to KL and get a new Non O Multi visa if new one expires.
As for showing money in the Thai bank for 60 days, I will not have that option so that isnt any good. If I make it back for May I will still have to show funds in Thai bank for 60 days....

Hi Ubonjoe,
Thanks for your reply. I already have a Non O multiple netry visa, that expires in May. I already have a Thai bank, but with the current exchange rate I am not depositing in that! So are you saying that I can extend my visa before or after it expires in Thailand? How long after my Non O multi entry visa expires time to do i have to get the extension or will it be a case of applying for a new one as I am not depositing into my thai bank at present?
Thanks
You would just need to get a multiple re-entry permit after you get your extension. When it comes time for your first renewal is where you might have a timing problem.I think to start with you will need to get a multiple entry non-o visa. Get this while you are on your 2 months off and then travel to Thailand and get your bank account opened and deposit the money in the bank. Go back to work and then apply for your extension when you come back. Normally they would want you to do it within your last 30 days of your entry but if you talk to them they would do it early enough so that you have your extension approved before you leave again. There is a 30 day wait after applying before you get your extension approved.

Hi Mario,
Thanks for your prompt reply. I have an income of more than 40,000 THB a month but work outside Thailand in neighbouring countries. Also these trips are 3 month trips and 2 months back in Thailand. Would this affect an application? I have over 400,000 in the bank (UK NOT Thai) as well, so that would not be a problem. My visa may run out before my return, will that matter? Can online statements be used to prove this or do you need originals. Also where in BKK is this done?
Regards DM
You can get an extension of your current permission to stay for one year if you meet one of the following requirements:- have an income of 40,000 a month
OR
- have 400,000 in a Thai bankaccount for at least 2months prior to applying for the extension.
If you don't meet these requirements you can get a new non-O visa from a Thai consulate in a neighbouring country.

My Old Mum bless her wants a shih Tzu Dog back to the U.K from Thailand. Dont ask me why but she wants one from here..
Is it plausible to send from Thailand or are the costs and time to do so long..ie. Quarantine, papers, injections transport, costs, blah blah blah! Could anyone advise me on this please.

Hi All,
Passed my test in Thailand and was given 1 year licence. At the end of this period if I have a Non Imm visa and Thailand Address is that it. I do not need a licence from my home country?
Also I am in and out the country working so my stamps are short 1 to 2 months then go work again does that matter or do I have to be in Thailand a certain length of time?
Thanks All

Hi All,
Can I put a house and land in my childs name...not that I do not trust the missus , but is that possible in Thailand?
Thanks All

The test is very basic. Computerised test in English or Thai. Signs are a little different, but the person in charge will let you repeat sometimes on failure I was told.
The driving test consist of driving round a circuit and reversing into cones/sticks... Going over a ramp and stopping on a line...
Thats it.
once again, is it hard? and in which language is the test in? thai or english? -
My standard of living has been deeply impacted but I am not worried. I probably should be though.
You got the right attitude.

My Son is treated well, however other children always comment when seeing him as "farang" (he is half British, half Thai), innocent yet I believe is still in western society a unintentional racist comment.... I know others on here claim it to be non racist, but in my country if I call someone from another race like that, its look upon as racism and you can be arrested for it...

Hi All,I have my 1 year license, but will be working out the country and then going back after 3 months. My Non immigrant visa will have run out ..can I renew it inside Thailand or will I have to get it in U.K. How long do I have after my license runs out to renew it, also will I be penalised for going out the country for a long period?

Sorry to burst the bubble, but you said you gave her a credit card so you could check where she was using it? Is that not checking up on her?
I hope it all goes well in all honesty and I mean I am sure she is loyal just pointing out a fact.
Goodluck
Not to put a damper on your plan, but what if she never used the card except when she was home. Or she gave the card to one of her family or mates in the village to withdraw dosh when she was out of the village for her?Or even her Thai fella who was getting 3000thb a month in his mitt for lao koa whisky.....
But in all seriousness, well done, good thinking and goodluck!
Hi,
Sorry mate but if I was worried enough to resort to checking up on a woman she would have been history,

Hi,We've just moved to Dubai from Bangkok with my french husband and young son. I've read in other postings that the Thai community is actually quite small here.
Any suggestions on how to get in touch with them ?? ( Consulate. associations, restaurants...?? )
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Ubonjoe,
So what are the benefits of getting an extension, you have to apply again after that for a visa anyways. Does it not seems easier just to get another multi entry. It seems to lack logic, unless there is a reason behind it I dont undertand, which is the norm!
