That's a wrong move. Deforestation is a huge problem.

Has there ever been a committee worth a damn in the history of Thailand? Or Siam or the world for that matter?
Useless waffle.

I don't think I would get away with want I want to say so all I will say is the youngsters protesting for true democracy deserve a happy and prosperous future in a Thailand different to what they have today.
It's great to see the new generation fight for their rights. I have high hopes for Gen Z.

They are really trying to provoke the protestors. But it's a leaderless movement, usurpers can throw people in jail all they want and new ones will take their place. Be like water.

I'll be out as soon as I can be sure I can return to Thailand. Getting a serious case of cabin fever already.

In the photo the eyes look pretty sunk in already, can't have been very fresh. I would've stuffed it and put a army uniform on it, then hang it on the wall as a portrait of The Esteemed Leader.

Helps sod all as the senate is a bunch of army puppets. Make it single chamber and free elections, then deal with the actual problem after the parliament has been voted in by the people, for the people.

Just read in Nigeria peaceful demonstrators at a rally where shot dead by Police
12 killed many wounded
Will Thailand be next? Things are hotting up ...not looking good (land of smiles is now ... Land of ????? God only knows )
Good luck Thailand
Covid is making people antsy, although the problems stem from as far as WW2.
Spring is coming. Nigeria unfortunately is of low importance to the west, who are the only ones that seem to at least on surface care about things like ethics and morals.CCP will buy them off, too.

Been trying to d/l s01e07 of The Queen's Gambit.
I've posted a screenshot - with d/l source removed, that shows there is a 26/62 seeders/leechers ratio, but although it's been d/l for around 18 hours, it's stuck at 42.8%.
Tried deleting it & downloading again, but same problem.
Anyone got any idea what is going on?
Netflix is, I think, 350 baht or so per month. I for one can't be arsed to download torrents for that price.

They are not so stupid as to send in the 18yo conscripts. Certain Bangkok regiments are very loyal to certain people. The reliable ones will be used as they were before.
The Army had no problem firing live ammunition into crowds. I recall when Abhisit was on TV lying about not using live ammunition, when TV pictures clearly showed soldiers firing live ammo from M16's without suppressors. This was at the very start of the anti-government protests, long before there was any barricades at Rajaprasong and Lumphini or any real threats or danger from the Red Shirts.
I fear the same will happen again.
Very likely. From what I've read the "loyal guard" is about 5,000 strong. To complete what has been started they need to be obliterated.

Ah, the good old anthem, courtesy of Phibun, the original military dictator. I guess during his reign she would've been shot.

What I believe, though, is that they will use the police with tear gas and rubber bullets, rather than the army with life ammunition.
I have a feeling the BiB isn't on the usurper side. They got shafted for extra pay and that's a no-no here.

I'm not sure these stunts work as intended. They might bring attention for a day or so, but are then promptly forgotten as a gimmick. Politicians should be able to throw daggers with their words instead of slashing their arms.

Fighting the CCP, I see. It'll be costly, not sure if Thailand is worth it, as Vietnam would provide a better ally against the CCP aggression in South China Sea.

What about those of us farangs that have been riding big bikes for years and passed the required tests, in our country of origin, before we came to Thailand and have the licence to prove it. Any ideas where we stand?
The usual was that you can get a Thai license if your native license is in English or you have the international driving permit (which is just a translation of your license). Remains to be seen if Thais do it with logic or somchai it up.

How many times have they tried this now? Is the previous Pattaya-Hua Hin ferry still running? I don't know anybody who ever used it.

Lockdowns are a short term panic solution, they decrease the R which, as you mention, only slows down the spread, does not stop it. They are a symptom of dysfunctional management.

I read this part of the Thai Enquirer article and started to laugh uncontrollably. I could only envision the many thousands of foreign digital nomads at the keyboards hacking away and creating the fake problems that the protestors are asking him to step down because of. He has definitely lost his marbles, if he believes that the Fake Media is behind this uprising. He is starting to sound like another leader of a foreign country. Manufactured and manipulated, what hogwash. Time to admit your out of your league General and time to ask for a free escape route. How does he sleep at night if he believes everyone is out to get him.
Paranoia always hits before the downfall. Check out what Hitler did in the last days.

I'm still waiting for the parliament to get cut-throat. That'd solve many problems. Senate should follow.

M&Ms. "Melts in your mouth and not in your hands." Except in Thailand. Wondered why and saw the M&Ms sold in Thailand are made in China.
Chocolate here is basically hard fat. Whenever I bought real chocolate from Europe and brought it here, it would melt in the heat within minutes. The Thai candy bars you can put in the oven and they come out same.

One of the best online business ideas for a Thai that I have heard lately.
For some reason, selling via Facebook streams is a massive in Thailand. I think there is something in Thai culture whereby the decision to buy is based more on liking the seller than the product.
This girl has found an imaginative hook to sell a product as generic and easy-to-obtain as clothing, with a compelling story for why they are a bargain. As we can see from this news story, the sheer weirdness provides invaluable free marketing. Very, very clever. And it makes sense to recycle the old clothes. Good on her.

Staggering early vote turnout boosts hopes for Biden in Texas

Biden will probably win. Then it'll be four years or until he kicks the bucket before the next try - with some hope for somebody who's not an old dinosaur.
