  1. Slightly off topic, but when I was 18, in the late seventies, there was no way I could have travelled to Thailand. Didn’t have the money. Also, if I had, I probably wasn’t mature enough yet to handle it and I doubt if today’s teenagers are any better. It surprises me how many very young and immature farang tourists are here these days . What could possibly go wrong?
  2. That is the dumbest idea I’ve heard in a while. This idiot thinks older people who aren’t used to digital currency never spend more than a few hundred baht at a time? The guy should quit politics and go into comedy.
  3. Johnson is a spineless little weasel whose version of “christianity” seems to involve protecting pedophiles. The USA is completely f@@@ed with people like him and Trump in charge. Sad!
  4. There is no Antifa. It’s just a stupid word that some stupid people on the left made up. Now Trump can easily label anyone he doesn’t like as “Antifa” and go after them. Fascism is something everyone, especially those who claim to love “freedom” and the “American Way”, should oppose. Unfortunately even when it is right in their face, a lot of people can’t even recognize it until it’s too late.
  5. I suppose this is the fate of aging would be populist dictators who use their time in office to insult and berate the opposition and to engage in corruption to enrich themselves and stay in power. Hmmm. Reminds me of someone else who has somehow escaped that fate so far.
  6. I think you’ve been here almost as long as me, and I agree with everything you said.
  7. Aside from the fact that it is deranged nonsense from a man who is a complete narcissist who doesn’t even seem to understand basic economics? Nothing at all! If the courts rule against his illegal tariffs there will be another Great Depression? You believe that $41t? The last time the US had tariffs at these levels it PROLONGED the Great Depression FFS! Try reading a book sometime. Why doesn’t he just let the congress vote on his tariff policies as is required by US law? The republican majority does anything he asks of them anyway.
  8. Can someone explain what the word “reciprocal” as in “reciprocal tariffs” means? Has the word been redefined to mean “whatever random number Trump pulls out of his arse”.
  9. This is the email I got from Wise on the subject.
  10. I believe this has to do with some new money laundering measures that came into effect on May 1. Only some banks were properly prepared for the changes as regards transfers from Wise, UOB not among them. KBank and Bangkok Bank OK. The notice I read about this said they were working on getting all banks authorized to accept Wise transfers but it might take a while.
  11. A simple google search will show that many elected Democrat politicians have been violently threatened by MAGA types. I guess you’ve only got Foxnews in your cable package?
  12. Once again the corruption and/or incompetence is out in the open for everyone too see, but tens of millions of Republican voters are too brainwashed to see it and Republican politicians are too cowardly to call it out.
  13. There’s no use arguing with these people BLM. They can only respond with their silly macho man insults about safe spaces or “making the libs cry”. Pathetic really.
  14. Right, of course everything Trump does is the Democrats or Biden’s or George Soros’ or Bill Gates’ fault. The good Christian, Jesus praising Republicans would never be involved in any corruption, would they?
