  1. Most of the "Chin" family members already left Thailand. I want to know how the Red Shirt feel. There was a guy from Twitter asked Thaksin this question...he couldn't answer it.....

I wish Thailand get out of this mess and become a stronger nation. I want to say proudly that I am Thai, not someone from another problematic country. I want to say, "ENOUGH ALREADY!!!"

  2. While watching from my condo building, I've seen wonderful fireworks coming from that area every night for the past 6 days, I hope I don't see explosions and gunfire tonight.

Unfortunately, that's exactly what they want you to see!

So where is the explosions and gunfire you promised the forum earlier today? Fearmonger...

As a Thai person, I don't want to see any of these. Thailand is suffering from this political turmoil long enough!

  3. Pity they dont police the yellow shirts like this.

Because one crazy Thai Army general said again and again that there will be the retired Rangers with weapons joining the Red Shirts. That's why.

I'd say its more to do with the BKK police chiefs being on the side of the ruling establishment, hence why Yellows can walk into airports and shut them down without a fight.

True. But Yellow Shirts didn't have a "crazy" gen. with a personal army, plus the Govern. at that time was Thaksin's nominee.

  4. Pity they dont police the yellow shirts like this.

Because one crazy Thai Army general said again and again that there will be the retired Rangers with weapons joining the Red Shirts. That's why.

Is this the same Kattiya who was recently sentenced to one-year in jail and illegally crossed into Cambodia last month? This is one whacked out nut case.

That's the GUY! His own website is dedicated to the RED SHIRTS and violence.

  5. Leave Khun Thaksin alone he is a good man. It is the yellow shirts and sontee, and miltary that are the trouble makers. The current PM is another yellow shirt arse kisser. His Oxford education and being born in the Uk do not make him a better person. It is just a con job. WAKE UP EVERYBODY!

We already woke up. How about you?

  6. So this means, and I never knew it was this easy; "original name" has was a warrant for his/her arrest. By changing name tags, we don't recognize the person because we can't get past the name tag? And therefore, they become invisible, or can't legally be arrested, because no one is anything more than a name?

Thai politics, aka ludicrous, that doesn't make sense either I gather. :) oy!

Reminds me of an article on the Bangkok Post last weekend by the title "Catch me if you want, but you don't want to, do you?" or something to that effect. The author provides reasonable arguments toward the claim that the Thai govt (the one that calls itself the govt now) deliberately avoids catching him. This story is in favour of that view...why didn't I ever think of it now?? makes a lot of sense.

I think ultimately Thai Gov DOES NOT want Takki in Thailand. Why? Because even he is not in Thailand, he can create such a damage in the Thai society already. If he is captured, put in jail, I can see a riot between the Red, yellow and other groups.

That's why Thai Gov. never pursue him, but keep him far away from Thailand.

  7. It depends on the "view" of individuals, I guess. Some say he and Times did not say anything lese majeste. Someone else also say he intended to do so and so on. The fact is what he said in the interview created interests and controversy. That's exactly what he wants. But he may crossed the line about the King and that's why he trow the hot potato to the Times.

His days are numbered, and he has to do everything, desperately, to create a final showdown. Otherwise, his gargantuan assets will be seized and that means he won't be able to rock the boat outside Thailand for a long time.

It is just one of many Taksin tactics so Thailand cannot be at ease, unless he rules again.

  8. Hi again,

No, they did not give us a hard time. Even we were married lest than two years, we had our son who was two weeks old to show them :o If you two plan to visit and you have a work permit to come back to Thailand. He also has evidence that he will come back. There should not be a problem, but it vary case by case. It's depends on the officer.

  9. Ah well, now that you've had your little grammatical fun, back to the topic at hand, shall we?

Took my husband home shortly after we got married and he was a huge hit. Grandparents thought the world of him, so do my parents and sisters, nephews and nieces. So, no problems there.

US embassy will be difficult for a tourist visa if he has no assets in Thailand or if you dont' have a job or some kind of long-term visa. You will need a letter from your parents showing that he will be staying with them and they will be supporting him. Make sure you take any old passports with you for the application, it shows that he has travelled and returned to Thailand.

If you've been living and working in Thailand for awhile be sure to include copies of all your documents as well. Money in his bank account helps. There is an assumption that people marry in order to emigrate to the US and with being married such a short time that is something you will have to overcome with lots of evidence that Thailand is both his home and your home.

good luck don't stress too much, they aren't monsters. dress nicely, behave politely and things should be ok. :o

sbk was right! Just ready your papers and his as well. The US Embassy officers are nice, but they have keen eyes. In our case, we married lest than 2 years and that raised some concerns. We did our best and presented the officer with all of the evidences that we DID NOT married so that I could come and live in the U.S. besides I used to live there for nearly ten years. The most important thing to think about AFTER both of you got there. What kind of work your future husband will do?

    Best of luck,

  10. You're the one who snagged Golf! I never knew! Well, kudos to you Amyji, he's always been one of my personal favorites and I was sorry to see him leave Thai Visa, although perfectly understandable, frankly. Glad my husband doesn't read half the crap posted on this forum. :o

A Thai Visa love story. How wonderful :D

    Hello sbk,

No, she did not snag me. It was me who snagged her!

    HEHEHE :D

  11. Local leaders vow to protect monarchy

The Kamnan and Village Headmen Association will closely monitor the demonstration by the red shirts in order to safeguard the monarchy, its chairman Yongyos Kaewkheow said on Tuesday.

"The institution of kamnan and village headmen was founded by King Chulalongkorn some 116 years ago and the monarchy is an integral part of the nation," he said.

    - The Nation / 2009-04-07

Taksin cannot over throne the monarchy! As a Thai man, I really want to ask him this question, "Are you still a man?" A real man honors his Pledge of Allegiance to serve and protect the Nation, Religion, and The King. He broke that and he will pay for it with his life.

Golf! ALWAYS great to hear from you... :D

Ready to come home yet? :o

    Hello sriracha john,

Not really :D I have a family to look after here in the U.S. But boy, if I am still single, I would come back to Thailand and fight against Taksin :D

  13. The "Mad Dog" wants his power and money back, period. This is a man so corrupted, so self-centered, and thinks that all Thai people can be bought. Well, to some extents, he bought some. But that is not the point. The point is "would you want this man, who has never answered any questions regarding his crimes, but rather tell that he is innocent, to rule the country?"

If Taksin can answer my three questions, what would be the answers?

    1. Did you abuse the power as PM?

    2. Would you come back and enter into the justice system?

    3. Do you actually only want to destroy Bureaucratic Polity, or you want MORE?

Taksin would not answer any of these questions, but would say, “I have done so much for the country. It is not fair.” What’s the point to say that? If he is innocent, then prove it. Does he really want to serve and protect the “Nation", “Religion”and “The King”? I don’t think so!

  14. Unfortunately the PAD protestors have bought the violence on themsleves.

By holding the country to ransom they have abrogated any moral high ground they may have held in their fight for a more democratic Thailand.

In fact their very actions are pushing Thailand to the brink of mass civil disobedience and creating the very conditions that will make any sort of more democratic society in Thailand that much more remote.

The misguided tactics of PAD are fracturing and polarising many Thais and indeed threatening the livelihood of many who are already living very close to the margins.

No matter what the outcome the divisions that have been created by PADs actions may well have serious implications for ongoing instability in Thailand for a long time to come.

I agree with you on this one. Taking the country's most profitable assets effects many and elevates the situation. With my humble opinion, I would like to share my thoughts here:

    1. All PAD protesters should go home. Stop holding the air ports and anywhere else IMMEDIATELY. This will eliminate the "conditions" for the red shirt mob to exist. If the court delivers the result and there is no PAD movement, then the only bad guys would be the red shirt mob if they want to challenge the court.

    2. There is no need to hold the ground and take all attacks. This is not necessary. No need to have PAD protesters get killed, unless PAD want the Army to respond, which will not happen.

    3. Taksin's ultimate goal is to have A COUP in Thailand so the current Constitutional Laws will be eliminated, therefore, leave the open door for him to return to Thailand as the winner.
