Marko, I like you more and more every day and I sympathise with you.

Same things happen with me.

The only difference not only they don't take care of my things they borrow, but they never return them back.

Yep. I've been there & done that. It's just like how they often will return the broken wheelbarrow, my wheelbarrow... to the yard and there it sits, broken and rusting, on display with all my other broken stuff.

I frequently find myself borrowing their tools now, instead of buying replacements for my own broken tools. So far so good. My Thai neighbours don't seem to mind a bit.

I'm not sorry for people falling victims of pickpockets.

In all my life either in Europe or Thailand took care of my belongings and was always aware of the people around me.

Everywhere in Europe they anounce "Be aware of pickpockets"

I find people falling victims naive........ to say the least.

Don't wear jewelry (gold) when walking in Pattaya between 00:001-05:00. Better not wear jewelry or gold outside of your 5 star hotel, period.

Spread you cash around your body. Some in various locations, different pockets. I sometimes even keep cash inside my shoes, but rarely in Thailand.

The Thai transvestites have been mugging foreigners near Beach Rd. and Soi Post office as far as I can remember since the early 1980's. They are still doing it and nothing, not even the army, will stop them.

If it's very late and I see a few of them loitering I'll even go so far as to switch sides of the road and literally run past them (quickly)... they won't take chase.

Thai airways will never show a profit until they learn that farangs who know about airline business are appointed to run the airline.

Thai airlines only employ connected people ( who know jack s..t ) about how things should be done.

Look even the bank of England employed a Canadian to run the bank why? because he was the best person for the job.

Only Thai people know how to do things.All farangs are stupid attitude is a big problem, until that changes ( which it wont ) things will not get better.

Thai way something is not paying, so up the price !! crazy? yes bloody crazy.

Their is not one single foreigner in executive management at Thai. There are two reasons for this:

1.) They don't want to be there and deal with the political (Air-Force) Interference.

2.) They are not wanted there (because they may shake up the gravy train.)

They really need to take it one step beyond this and consider foreign ownership. It will be interesting, as a comparison, to see how troubled Malaysian Airlines' restructuring will pan out. It like Thai has a marvelous franchise and I hope they manage a turnaround.

To be fair to Thai people need to allow for the fact that Ethihad, Emirates, and Qatar are killing all the legacy airlines. of which Thai is one.

Not one baht. She has a job which means she has little idle time after a day's work to think of new ways to extract more money from me. Her job also makes her physically tired. She's proud of her independent ability to earn a living. Our kid's have been in school since 2 1/2 y/o.

If you want health/life insurance for your children compare policies, prices, and benefits independently on your own without her. When you decide to buy a policy do that independently as well, and make sure you are the beneficiary. Many policies have a cash-out benefit after 8-10 years and many girlfriends and wives have stars in their eyes over this aspect.

I'm on my third Thai wife now, and Hi-So or Lo-So (and/or everything in between) you never really know, except for one thing. They are all Thai.

The best bet is to find one with a good job and rich parents. Even then it's hit and miss, just like everywhere else.

I had a farang friend once who found his true Thai wife/soul mate, she was perfect. She died prematurely and suddenly. Sometimes you just can't win.
